    I think it is a nice update to Ultraboost. I would like to see Boost Lite foam in place the EVA Lightstrike foam in Adizero line. The new Adizero SL, Adios, Boston all have EVA Lightsrike foam. I think they would all benefit from this Boost Lite foam.

      Technically every foam you can use with a quality sport shoe is more explosive than the "boost" technology. This one has more capacity to absorbe the energy of the impact, releasing it later but slowly respect a Nike or Asics or Saucony, just to say. The demonstration lies in the new Adidas Strung. They use an exceptional foam and a superb design. The boost system is unique for absorbing energy thanks to the air pods of plastic (the more you weight the more you will have an advantage) and the material works like no other with very high and very low temperature, plus it lasts ages, a thing we cannot tell about the foam. The 4D is a better shoe, practically perfect and with a printed intersole but really expensive.

  • @pbnotj1
    @pbnotj1 Год назад +2

    Glad they didn’t give up on boost, awesome technology! Would like them to put that light boost foam in a bunch of other shoes and drop the light-strike. Adidas racing shoes have been great , lightstrike pro is awesome but regular lightstrike is just old school Eva and adidas has had no daily running shoes imho. I am hoping to see this updated boost in a Boston reboot :-) , not interested in these ones but new foam is promising . The giant heel and big plastic cage are just a non starter.

    Adidas has been always been overpricing
    Ultraboost but I feel that there is a reason.
    People don't realise that most people would buy this shoe at a discounted price 6 months after the launching of the new ultraboost. Definitely an Adidas gimmicks to trick buyers to buy this shoe at a " bargain" price but actually the discount price is probably near the actual retail price.
    . Don't get me wrong, ultraboost is still a good shoe but the way Adidas trying to market ultraboost is rather deceiving.

    I’ve gotten more into running over the past year and now it’s my main cardio workout. I’ve worn the UB 21, 22, and recently got the UB light. Wore the lights on a run for the first time this morning. They’re definitely lighter in hand and on feet, and the mid-sole feels much more “springy” and responsive. That being said, they are still somewhat heavy. I’ll keep the UB lights for relaxing runs but I ended up ordering the Pegasus 39 for my everyday runs.

    I don't understand why Adidas doesn't get rid of the excess and unused boost foam in the area around the heel. That'll save some weight for sure (and maybe help in reducing the price). Besides, that excess foam makes the shoe look bulky.

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  Год назад +2

      See the video most of what you see as bulk are sidewalls of Light Boost, yes add some weight but also part of rear support system. Also these heels help roll the foot forward. And for sure they didn't want to change the iconic look. Yes really hope for other more streamlined Light Boost trainers in the future

      It's summer here, so I will go with the Ultraboost now and get the Nimbus 25 as I got the previous model, around August. Asics shoes are awesome but Adidas shoes are more durable and resist better in hot days .

  • @jw_25

    The Ultraboost Light was a big disappointment for me.
    Newer foams from competitors are still lighter than the Ultraboost Light.
    It does not absorb impact like earlier Ultraboost foam, so I'm experiencing foot pain for anything other than a recovery run or a short run, especially in the forefoot.
    The real kicker is the $190 asking price. If you can catch them on sale then these are pretty good otherwise the price alone makes them just "ok".

    • @Not-Me66
      @Not-Me66 9 месяцев назад +1

      Sorry to hear that but i haven’t experienced the same issues as you, I feel like it’s WAY bouncier than the 22, and it’s not less shock absorbing, my only issue is the fact that the UB22 is plusher but they didn’t bother to add a higher stack height to the lights since they made a stiffer foam, it’s still bouncier and lighter but still I think they should’ve added a higher stack height considering the retail price of these shoes

    • @jw_25
      @jw_25 9 месяцев назад

      @@Not-Me66 Yeah the “bounce” is definitely there but I’m only getting that on push-off, not on impact with the sidewalk. It has a generous heel stack but I’m a mid foot/forefoot striker and I’m very tall and heavy.
      The UB22s were only good for walking whereas I can actually run in the UBLs but only slow paces or recovery runs for me.

    @albertteng1191 Год назад +3

    For $190, id choose another shoe. There are plenty shoes around which perform better than ultraboost. Besides i wonder why adidas has to put that ridiculous amount of boost foam in the heel and most of it serves no purpose at all. Additional boost in the heel only adds unnecessarily weight. And it also makes the shoe look really odd

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  Год назад +2

      The look has sold he shoe by the many millions as “lifestyle”. Now it runs much much better. Doubt they will change the look. Hope they come up with more Light Boost lighter yet trainers Note the big heel is in big part as the foot sits way down in the thin Boost sidewalls with behind the clip.

    Kinda just back to the normal Adidas boost trainer overbuilt/overweight levels instead of the absurdly overweight level. It's still way too heavy for the amount of cushion lol. If a shoe is going to be 10.5oz, it should at least be max cushioned, but this is like relatively low classic daily trainer stack. I tend to avoid anything over 10oz in a 9 and definitely so if it isn't a max cushion recovery shoe. It's good to see them back in the usable weight range, but kinda just puts them back in the range of the ultraboost/solarboost/solarglide from a like 5 years ago which was already kinda dated back then.

    • @KazeHorse
      @KazeHorse Год назад

      Part performance and part style. Even in the promotional material interviews they say boost is as much of a brand as it is technology, so I think these are exactly what adidas expects for them to be.
