Education Ministry Commissioner arrested over Akii Bua stadium cash

Parliament’s committee on Commissions Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises has handed the commissioner in charge of physical education in the ministry of education to police for investigation.
Lamex Omara was handed over to the Criminal Investigations Directorate after failing to account for monies meant for the construction of Akii Bua stadium in Lira.
One of the issues Omara and other officials had failed to explain was how they had used 665 million shillings to construct a temporary pit latrine and a shed.
