I don't spend any time charging my Teslas. And road trip charging take about 5-10 minutes more and gas station stops every 3 hours or so. But with significantly cheaper fuel, it's worth the wait the few times each year I make road trips.

Why try to use a rigid arm if your airplane example also shows you that it's a bad idea? It'd have gone much better if there was an adapter instead of a fuel cap, and a hose dangling on top of it instead of a rigid arm all the way. The alternative would be something rigid that would lock the vehicles together instead of the load being directly on the fuel system
