I've been with FedEx Ground Delivery for a few weeks and coming from Amazon DSP Delivery, im already in love with my job, the Routing is way better, being able to do my route the way it's more comfortable for me is a plus, low package count and stop count is great too , with Amazon i had to literally run all 10 hours and deal with the Dispatch calling me every 20 minutes telling me to hurry up etc , being able to actually take a lunch break is heaven, not stressing about my job being there tomorrow has released a lot of stress from my life, the benefits are not the best but can't have it all, no complaints at all, I definitely see myself still working for FedEx Ground in 10 or 20 years from now . Subbed bro! I’ve been at express for a month now. Switched from ground. I must say express is way better. I just gotta get used to coming in at 5:35am tho too early 😂
@@davibe2304 At my station they started me off at $19.58. I did get a pay cut switching over because I was making around $23 per hour at ground. But I really only gotta work like 5 hours of OT to get the same amount I was making. And the benefits is what really made me do the switch. The downsides to express tho, is you got to sort your own truck instead of SID numbers like at ground. So that kind of slows you down when your looking for the packages. And you kind of do more backtracking at express for your P1 and P2 stops. Whereas at ground you can just knock out a whole neighborhood and not have to go back. But I’d say express is still better because at least you getting paid by the hour and not per stop. And now I can get OT pay 💰

We have suspended E-star until February. We do use it on Saturdays however. I am fairly new so I have only known E-star. I have been straight running lately and the vets said they prefer without E-star. The issue I have is I am supposed to be a 4×10 cover driver covering the same 4 routes. I am being used like a swing driver. Everyday I am covering a route of someone who has called out or is on vacation. It's tough being new and getting a different route everyday. I cannot get a routine down. Ugh!
Rules for my lunches at my station are: 1. You cannot take it before the first hour of work nor can you take it during the last hour. 2. If you work 6 hours, you must take a 30 min lunch. 3. If you work 8 hours, you must take a 1 hour lunch. They are strict with ensuring that we follow the break rules. I personally hate taking lunches because lunches get in my way. I just want to finish my route and go home. Work days as a FedEx Express Courier go by so fast. The worst part of the job for me is working during the summer time because I live in Arizona and the heat gets crazy over here. I'm not sure yet but I'm thinking of applying as a delivery driver but theirs 3 different delivery drivers saying deliver driver, casual courier delivery driver and courier driver. I tried searching it up but cant get a straight answer what's the difference
@daydreamer9986 I have never heard of the 1st and 2nd one before but I'm a courier driver. I know that they had mid shift courier driver and a swing shift courier driver but the other 2 that u listed, I've never heard of. Is this for fedex express or fedex ground?
@BB-mq9qk I'm actually hearing the same thing. Couriers for Fedex ground employees are all contracted positions. Express is actually fedex employees. There are a lot of rumors going around but nothing is definitely known until it actually happens which is soon. Lucky for us our branch is staying an express branch. The other express branches are changing to ground.
i have a interview for a swing shift with express, however im already slated to start as a ramp agent with delta airlines in november but the courier position is very tempting but now im worried about this merger and it affecting the station i can potentially get hired at now im on the fence about attending my interview because of this pending issue with the merger. @@anthonymullinez9697
All I can tell you is,if you are going to stay at Federal Express you better become an RTD asap. If you do, leave the courier rush and package handling mentality behind. Just drive the CTV, nothing more, nothing less. Let handlers load and unload your trailer at the down lines. Do not handle parcels off the strip line unless directed to by a manager. Best front line jobs at Federal Express are Pilot, Aircraft Maintenance, GSE Maintenance and RTD. Ramp Agent sucks because you have to basically know everything about the operation of the ramp while making the same pay as an RTD. Ramp Agent job ain't worth it, very stressful.
@@Locate2024 Ramp Transport Driver, you drive tractor trailers and straight trucks to deliver freight from the ramp facilities to the stations. You also pick up and deliver heavyweight freight. Plus you pick up and deliver bulk freight stops.
Any opinion on the flex/D3 position? They're hiring where I am, get to pick shifts and want 3 days a week availability. I'm just concerned about hours in general like after peak if it'd slow down to next to no work etc. I have another job so I'd try to balance two PT jobs. The FT job I do now is rather hectic and stressful and would like something a bit more straight forward and flexible especially if I need to take a day off for something.
How many hours a week do you work typically? Like if you’re offered an 8 hr day 40 hr a week route, can you pick up more hours? 10 hours a week OT would be a healthy paycheck! Thanks bro!
Some routes take longer than 40 and some don’t. If you want to work more hours usually they will let you do the shuttle after your route or have you deliver more packages on another route.
hi i have a question please, i would like to apply at fedex in my town but these is this DOT and NON DOT drivers i dont want what it is and i cant find accurate info; could you please explian me what it is. thank you
DOT is subjected to random drug tests whenever and are able to drive the box trucks and bigger vehicles. NON DOT only get drug tested at start of hire and if they get in an accident or have a problem. Non dot can only drive the sprinter vans and small cargo vans.
Hey i got an interview in a few days & got some questions. The position i apply for is “Courier DOT” part time Monday-Friday from 12p.m to 6p.m. What should i expect? & also is it mandatory to take a break if im only working 6 hours?
Brock answered it pretty well. He’s completely right about them pushing employees. They will push you and make you pick up other peoples slack if you do more than expected at first. And yes they will probably offer you extra work each week. Good luck!
If you suspect you are.gonna work one minute over 6 hours take a break and don't take it within your last hour. I have gotten in trouble for both. One time I took a 25 minute break and got a phone call. I am new but I do know they take that break seriously.
The only thing that sucks is that will nickel and dime you on raises every year. Before they give you a step in a raise which is about almost 2 dollars.
@@reyneropacheco750 I think it all depends on area and position. From what I was told at my station, the top pay is $32 an hour for dot courier (more for swing) and then an increase of 3% to 5% each year after you reach top pay to fit cost of living…
