Good observation and thanks for the kind comment @busker909. I've tried using a proper steel but couldn't get on with it, so just ended up using my usual slide just on a different finger for lap steel/cigar box stuff. Fred Kelly finger picks are fantastic: I can't use anything else nowadays.
Nice dude ,ive just found myself involved in this community the last few month ,so dar ive built 3 ,realy 4 but frst one was a bit of adisaster ,lol never touched a woodworking tool in my life ,sculptor and airbrusher yep ,its better than being on a tablet or sitting watching tv ,winter no m bike riding gets done so this will replace that ,@johndoetriouk
Thanks for sharing, Phil. Fascinating to learn about that instrument I’ve seen so often! Keep up the good work…
Really interesting - had my littlun fascinated too! Her chin literally dropped when you said it was a bit of your mates kitchen 😂
Big resurgence in cbg at the moment , coming round again .
I think you are right. When I first built this (many years ago), no one knew what it was! I think the Seasick Steve factor changed things.
So you're the man who uses the slide on is first finger! Fred Kelly picks too !Great capo as well. Sounds & looks good.

@@Crosshatch1212Great effort. I chickened out a bit by making this one fretless, for slide only. One day I'll take the plunge and make a fretted one.
