I'm not responsible if you get in to trouble for using a modded radios.
Do this at your own risk this video is for educational purpose only.. Развлечения
Great video - It only took me 3 hours to get it to work - Changing the IP address was not as easy as shown - anyway I did get it done and it works a treat - Thank you
I don't own one, but I like watching videos on the mods.i liked yours. Thanks.
Nice one Jez! 👍😉
Nice one Jez 🙂👍
It worked for me , strangely enough the hardest part was to change the ip adres.
Thanks.
Many thanks

i'm curious, how wide of a bandwidth can you transmit on this? For example, most radios have a 10khz or 12.5khz bandwidth setting.
Well (and easy) done. Can You tell me what FW You're running, or just (maybe) how did You ged rid of AF scope displays? Can't find the settings to have full WF instead.. 73! Greg
Hola gracias por la información,quería consultarte como obtener una pantalla como la que tienes tu ,me refiero a eliminar los dos cuadros del lado derecho ,para tener una water fall,,mas amplia
Entiendo que los dos cuadros son audio spectrum
Gracias
THANKS JEZ DES IN BELFAST,, IRELAND
Best! Thanks! Waiting for mine to arrive so I can do this for the 27,305Mhz 😀 Cheers!
your be surprised how far you can get on 5W worked in to Bulgaria using the radio as a walkie talkie
@@2j4ez Wow, amazing! Actually, when you mention this I realize that a telescopic antenna in combination with the tuner must make very powerful resonance! I hope I wouldn’t mess up these ip gate numbers (on windows). PS your garden looks super cozy!
@@RosssRoyce The antenna i use is a telescopic antenna for 11m with a bnc connector got it from amazon for about £15 i seem to work the same station each day on 10m when i'm on lunch break
@@2j4ez wow cool! The nice thing is there is no coax in between the radio and the antenna, guarantying optimal resonance! I have two of these antennas and have connected them like a “bipole” via a T shaped bnc adapter (very common..) for the CB bands, it works for the crt 9900, with tuner and coax - I give the coax a few coil turns scotchtaped (about 15cm circle) it cuts SWR dramatically.. Cheers!
The newer firmware versions of this radio transmits on 60m. I bought one 2 weeks ago and it works fine on 5mhz.
I’ll have to check for the update and see what new features it has
Hi, just wondering how the Xiegu 6100 compares to the 5105. I have just watched a video that trashes most of the Xiegu radios including the 6100 but not the 5105. A bit disappointing as I had my eye on getting the 6100.
my 5105 has a audio stutter problem which when it tx on the radio and audio is all stuttery and sometimes goes into TX when switched on ive tried updating the firmware etc but nothing it still audio stutters my 6100 works no problems so far
Is it possible to mod this radio to get a wide screen waterfall with this method?? Don't want the 2 small info boxes to the left.
No the only thing this mod does is enable it to tx on 11m I’ll have to look into the file system when the radio is connected to the wifi and see if I can get it full screen
Why not using DHCP?
can you transmit on the marine hf frequencies with this mod?
yes it should open the radio to TX anywhere across the hf bands
i have not been able to log into my radio, how do i find my correctip and gateway addresses ?
I had to connect mine to the gateway then disconnect then enter a manual ip on the radio then reconnect. My friend was on virgin internet and the radio was always a different ip to what the router says if I set it a manual ip on radio it still wouldn’t connect . Had to login to the router and see what it was listed as then set it to the same in the radio
@@2j4ez got it working, thank you.
I wonder what that DHCP slider would do ... 😆
if you use it it sets the ip address and gateway etc wrong thats who you have to set it manually
I did everything, the radio connects to the router but fileZillla gives me obstinately “unable to connect”, ip is correct, root, 123 pw, port 22, everything is entered correctly. I do this over the latest firmware. I just can’t see why FileZilla doesn’t want to connect me?!
What broadband do you have ?? My friend is on virgin uk and I set the radio up on his wifi then login to his router and see what ip it has given me then I set the radio to the same ip and you should be good to go
@@2j4ez I must set the IP correctly because the radio displays “connected” to the router, plus the Wifi icon. I got the ip and gateway originally from a command prompt in the computer. But it is the fileZilla which refuses to join the server… I am with Orange (France here). Radio shouldn’t have joined wifi if the IP or gateway were wrong. I may try with WinSCP instead of FileZilla . Could it be that I’m running the latest 1.6 firmware?
@@RosssRoyce my radio connected to my wifi and displayed the WiFi icon and said connected but gave the wrong IP address . So I logged into my router and found out what ip it gave the radio . I then disconnected the radio and set the ip on the radio to the same as what the router gave me and I was able to login . I use cyber duck on the Mac and file Zilla on Linux
@@2j4ez thanks a lot! I think I understand the mistake I’m making: I need to use my IP Scan app, see all devices connected to my network, hook on the radio and see it appear there, copy its IP (paste it onto the radio too maybe, like you say) put this IP in FileZilla and then it will target a handshake with the radio… I think so far I’ve been using my computer’s IP …lolol
@@2j4ez finally succeeded 😀. It was cause by antivirus protection, even though firewall had program exceptions created. Then I put the antivirus down and immediately could access “root” with the FileZilla!
60 meters is already enabled on my '6100...no need for the wideband mod for me.
You do the CB mod on a 600$ radio because CB will be shite when shit hits the fan. Dont be a dickster when it does hit the fan on the other bands and you can get a message thru .
Not sure anyone gonna be picky about call signs when everything has gone to hell in a handbasket.
It also means you can tx on 5MHZ band
jez i need get into the program to copy the sd card to do mars mod, thak's,chris amc45
i did it for you yesterday lol
@@2j4ez all working but ineed to wide band it
@@chrispierce53 you need broadband to wide band the radio if you no someone with bt broadband you can use then your be able to do it
50mHz is 6 metres, not 60. Nice mod, though.
60m is 5MHz which is a hamband btw.
I bet it transmits lots of spurious signals on the bands its not designed for.
£600 for one of those. Yikes!
You're buying from the wrong place !!!
IP of what device should I put in ???
The best way to find the ip is from your router . Once you have found it then put the same numbers into the radio your find the login details on the router it self
Все получилось! Спасибо! 73! de R6FX
Рад, что это помогло
why would you show everyone how to mod this to tx on 27 megs then ask why you would spend £600 to tx on the CB band .?? If your SOTA or whatever and get bored, then you can flick to ch 19 to chat with the "muppets" no offence, im a CBer myself..but 8 hear you. Its those guys who spend all this cash and ONLY use the CB bands that i dont get, but then, their mobey, they can do what they want, but thetes a l9t 9f really nice CBs out there 🤷
the temptation is irresistable.
