Love that stair bannister & the walled garden. The house feels really homely with a lot of character. Really interested in your journey in this lovely home in a beautiful characterful town.
I just found or should I say the algorithm did, because I am addicted to videos about people moving to France and house renovations. Good luck on your adventure
Dear both of you, as an information : if you buy eggs, you don't need to put them in the fridge. I was told that it was requested in the USA, but not in France and in most part of Europe.
Amboise is one of my favorite villages in the Loire. The Monoprix has great deals on most household items and there's a laundromat next to it. There are some wonderful brocantes to shop at if you like vintage/antiques. The brocante is the 1st Saturday of every month.
Yeah it's an old technique from the decades before wallpaper was affordable. We think the fabric walled rooms are the oldest in the house, but we're still trying to figure out the construction history. It's a very hodgepodge house!
The walled garden is awesome. Love the tiles on the fireplace. It is really hard at first, but I’m sure you guys will make do for awhile. The good thing is your close to the village restaurants, etc
This will be good to watch your adventure unfold! We just spent 75 days back pack touring Europe at 65 so no you are not crazy! Feeling a wee bit O green of envy! 🥂
Exciting! Please show the outside of your townhouse, your street and where you are situated as far as getting to restaurants, cafés, shopping. What are your long-term plans? Staying part-time? Will you sell your Austin house? Bon chance!
The front facade is fairly simple and typical of French row houses. For privacy and security reasons, we'd prefer not to show the entirety of the front of the house and our street. We're in the old quarter of Amboise, right in the middle of everything! It's a great location - lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. It's going to be our full-time home eventually, but we have a lot of things to get in order first. Hoping to relocate permanently in 2-3 years. We will be selling our Austin house at some point after that. 🙂Thanks for watching!
Welcome to France to both of you ! I hope everything's going to be ok for you. I must admit that all those old wallpapers are a nightmare. They are everywhere 😂 It will take courage to get rid of them !!! But still, the house has a huge potential.
Wow, what a dream! I watch a lot of RUclips shows with that area so I’m really excited to see what you’re doing to this beautiful old home. Thank you for sharing.
so I'm just now finding this channel, congrats on your new home. Maybe others have commented, but as soon as you're able to, you need to insulate the inside of the outer walls inside the home. In France they mostly use steel to build up walls, I don't think I've ever seen wood used in France, just these steel frames that almost look a little flimsy, lol, never any tough wood studs. But you can replace the wood frames like here 8:32 with steel and fill in the spaces with insulation, there are many types you can use, my beau-frere, who's restoring his house in Lille, I think used a type of called "laine de roche" or rock wool, but you can do your research and find which is best, then sheet rock can be installed over that and screwed into the steel frames. The reason why I say you should try to insulate as soon as possible is not necessarily to retain heat, though it will definitely help, it's more about keeping the home cool in summers especially if you don't have or aren't going to install an AC unit. France I find is more humid than what you'd think it would be, and every summer it starts to get hotter and hotter, and after staying in some of these older homes over summers, in rentals usually, the weirdest thing would be that inside the home it more humid than outside the home, meaning the insulation was bad and there was little to no ventilation, so even if it was technically "cooler" inside, the humidity made it unbearable. So like the outside facade should only be done with lime and sand (it's the most breathable I hear), the interior side of the outside walls should have proper insulation, and the windows at the very least should have vents if you are not able to install a proper ventilation system (the vent systems in France are called a VMC, ventilation mécanique contrôlée), I will admit I haven't seen vents for those old types of windows though, I personally have only seen vents on the newer PVC type windows, I think in French they're called like "entree d'air fenetre" or something like that.
I too watch several U Tube channels for renovations in France. The Pethericks, The Life of Ryan, Escape to Rural France, and The Chateau Diaries. I find your filming to be very professional and this home is stunning or will be when you repair it. Will you furnish it in the time period antiques? I was shocked they have such bargains there in France. Do you both speak French? Will look forward for more to be posted. You make this very interesting and have a calming manner I like. Nan from Alaska
Merci beaucoup! 😊 So glad you're enjoying our videos. Yes, we do plan to furnish with a lot of antiques, but it will be rounded out with some new stuff as well. We want it to be comfortable and not feel like we're living in a museum. We don't speak much French yet, but we're both learning!
I wish I was not too old to do exactly what you did!! I love the chateau DIYbut they are too big and need too much work. A charming townhouse in a beautiful town would be amazing. Guess I will have to live vicariously through you guys. I adore your new house . Would love to get my hands on your garden. I have a stunning garden in Toronto Canada.
Congratulations and bon voyage. Looks like someone was a gardener. I wouldn't do anything to the garden for the first year, just see what has been planted and help it. Then, once you know what's what, change as you'd like.
No you not crazy! I'm sitting here reminiscing about our honeymoon 19 years ago in Paris and driving through the Loire Valley. We camped on the island in the river looking out to the Chateau. It was bliss. I'm walking with you through the streets when you film there. Maybe we'll come and join you ❤😂😅
Welcome to France from a Frenchman. I don't know why but I am fascinated by so much anglophones moving to France and I find it very interesting to learn about how my native country is seen thru their eyes. Do you speak French ? If no, I strongly advise you to learn it as soon as possible. Are you retired or will you work in France ? Do you already have a long stay visa ?
Thanks so much for watching. We're glad you found it interesting! We are currently learning French; we realize how important that is, and want to be able to communicate well. As for working here, we don't have all of that sorted yet, but we won't be relocating permanently for two years or so. We have a path to German citizenship that we're in the process of, so that should give us the ability to stay in France long-term.
Bonjour et bienvenue en France. I really appreciate you using some French words. I can tell you are going to learn the language quickly. I’m grateful so many foreigners care about preserving our French heritage. I’m French but sadly have no interest in doing the preserving myself so thank you for taking this on. All the best with your Reno and your channel. I’m going to enjoy watching you.
You asked are we crazy, well no you're not ! You've left crappy USA and moved to beautiful Europe. Good luck with everything, such an exciting time for you! My son moved into a 1920's Brussels apartment 2 years ago with lots of original features. Cost nearly 3 thousand euros to have all the original wooden floors sanded and varnished, which he did before moving any furniture in. They're beautiful now.
Y’all!!!!! 😅 I love this video!!! 🎉 Excited to keep watching the transformation of your beautiful home!!! And a huge WOO HOO for the wood flooring!!!! 😊❤
Beautiful gem of a house in an incredible town, in an absolutely amazing country. Glad I found your channel, looking forward to watching your new adventure! Congrats! 🎉
Hi from Oklahoma City! I just recently discovered your channel and watched your full house tour today. Your home has so much original charm! Looking forward to what you do with it!
I love Amboise. I live about an hour away. Your house has so many beautiful features. Boulanger is good for all electrical goods and can often deliver next day. Very good returns service too. Have you found the vineyard Plou et fils ? It is very good wine at very reasonable price. You go across the bridge and turn right and it is a bit of a way along then on the right.
Congratulations, guys! My sister and I stayed in Amboise on the other side of the bridge and fell in love with the city. Such a chill vibe, lots of beauty and easy to navigate. Their Saturday market is amazing. Close to so many great cities like Blois and Tours. Very excited for you!
Hello. Bon chance with your new maison. We have spent a lot of time in Amboise and know the city very well. We almost purchased the property at 13 rue Rabelais. We know the previous owner well. If you are in that part of town and happen to go past that property, we would be interested to know if anyone is living there today. The previous owner had a heart attack and her husband had dimensa so we are not sure what the state of the property is today. We would love to know. Thanks
Hi there, there are some awesome thrift shops in your area - there you can find a lot of good things, gadgets, and the best of all .. furniture -- if you are on a budget. Good luck with your new life.
I just found you randomly, as I was looking at other Renovation in France videos and the first thing I saw when you let us in the house are the windows. I just love the French “furniture” for the windows. I hope that you will restore the metal opening/closings and keep the outside shutters. I’ve seen them in other renovation videos, and some people just take them down and get rid of them and it hurts my heart, lol. Obviously, it’s your house, but I just find them charming. Also, the stained glass in the windows is just so lovely & delicate. You have some color but mostly clear glass to see thru & I love it! Idk what you plan to do w/the fireplaces but it would be so wonderful if you could restore them somehow. Maybe not back to wood burning but gas inserts would be cozy on cold winter mornings. Good luck w/your adventure, I look forward to following along! 😊
Thanks for following! Yes, we love the old window hardware as well. And we love the old ripply glass too. But we will need to upgrade some of the windows with more efficient panes. We're going to do everything we can to keep original fittings! In some cases you can put another pane of glass in addition to the original one. But in some cases it might make more sense to replace the window with a new one that has a similar style of hardware (a reproduction).
You've found a beautiful house. I actually love the wallpapers. Looking forward to following your settling in an making it yours - and seeing what you'll do with those walls. (But guys, you're in France, have an old romantic house - and you went to IKEA for furniture?!?)
Um no, we went to IKEA to get things like dishes, a bath mat, one big rug, and two chairs. 😅 We aren't outfitting the house with IKEA, don't worry. We just needed a one-stop shop to get a lot of basics! We had literally *nothing* in the house.
Mes amis. Quelle aventure! Merci beaucoup pour sharing your experiences avec nous! (See how I’m working with you here?) Beth: the R sound, c’est impossible pour les américaines! Honestly. Tears stream down ma visage as I regarde your journey. Can’t wait pour la prochaine! (Not checking spelling. Disregard les erreurs, s’il vous plâit.) Beaucoup d’amour! Dianne
Looking forward to watching your journey. I had to laugh at how the name of the hardware store was pronounced in French because I've only heard the people from the chateau's saying it in English. 😂
Hello from PEI Canada I agree about watching Escape to the Chateau. I enjoy that show. We moved from Toronto to PEI. We needed the escape. I’ll keep watching your videos 😊
Hi! I have also just found you....the algorithm seems to like you guys! Your video is entertaining, well done and well edited, I've enjoyed it a lot. Wow, lots of hard work but the house is beautiful and seems to be in relatively good shape. Sweet garden. For furniture, there seems to be a Emmaüs ( Charity Shop) in Amboise. These are great places to find good pieces of furniture cheaply and they are everywhere in France.. There is one at 108 Rue Saint-Denis, 37400 Amboise, France. Open only on Saturdays 9:30-5:00pm website with reviews .When you buy wood furniture ,always check for woodworm and give treatment if it does ... Good Luck..it's an exciting journey!
It’s very inspirational to see ppl making bold moves in their lives. I would love to be able to move somewhere in France. I’m just not sure at my age if it’s too late, I’m 61. Maybe I missed my chance. But still enjoy someone else living the dream 😊 Your house looks beautiful, can’t wait to see the finished product.
I'm 67 with a bit of a heart condition and I'm moving to France next year. My UK state pension gets paid in France and I can access the health system which is paid for through the NHS. I've paid into the system through tax for 50 + years and already have a bank account there. I've lived and worked in France before and speak enough French to get by. 61 is young!.
It’s never too late ! This is all in your head and I mean it in the nicest possible way. And nothing is forever. If you don’t like it there you can always leave. But living with regret for not trying is the worse thing. My mum moved to Spain from France at almost 70.
Congratulations on your fabulous French mansion! So glad I found your channel. Amboise is, to me, one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in France. Was visiting a few months ago. Love your channel❤
Good luck, strange how some of the French live in their homes, they don't seem to concentrate on homely, looks and interiors unless you're affluent ! its more a serviceable and make do. Im sure you have the skill sets to make the house beautiful again, as I will enjoy the journey with you. Have fun good and bad!
I follow several Chateau channels and you will be my fifth!!!…. I of course love everything French, but live in Australia and will probably never own a French Chateau… so I live vicariously online through others… my niece Lori married a lovely Frenchmen and they plan or returning sometime to France this year I believe… “Bon Chance” with ur journey I look forward to following u. Stay Safe Stay Fabulous xoxo Ross Brisbane Australia
Wow! You got us down with it. Love that it's not impossible! If we stop daydreaming we can do it too. Hard work and research, final planning with out daydreaming we will achieve these goals. Self satisfaction just like the others before. Really loved the educational side of it before drastic measure. Big thanks
We worked with The Adrian Leeds Group - adrianleeds.com/ - which specializes in helping Americans buy property in France. We highly recommend you check out their website; there's lots of info there. It is well worth your money to do a consultation call with Adrian, and then sign on for the whole package if you're serious. They help you through the whole process - searching for property, coordinating viewings, answering all your questions, being the liaison between you and the seller's agent, helping you get important things in place for relocation (getting a French bank account, dealing with the utilities, etc). We seriously couldn't have done it without them. Well we could have, but it would have been very laborious and probably a terrible experience. The pricing of homes in Amboise is varied of course, based on size, location, condition, etc. We were lucky to find a house and garden of this size right in the old quarter. It seems to be a bit of a rarity. But here's the website for the realtors that sold us this house, Nestenn. You can browse their listings to get some idea: nestenn.com/?action=listing&prestige=0&transaction=acheter&list_ville=37400+Amboise Patrick's in the process of acquiring his German citizenship. That will allow us (as a married couple) to live anywhere in the EU. It's going to be our full-time home eventually, but we have a lot of things to get in order first. Hoping to relocate permanently in 2-3 years. 🙂
Wow, nice acquisition you had made...and you'll need a lot of courage and energy to do the work but little by little you're gonna make it of course and you know that you have a beautiful house "une maison bourgeoise". A very touristique place... know it well because I live here in Tours ( southwest part ). I'd like to share another couple like you who made the same adventure but they are in the lower normandie: @ MrBloke....so excited to see your next video. Take care.
Thanks so much for subscribing! Sorry it's taken so long to answer your question. For the first spray, we bought a 14% vinegar solution on the cleaning products aisle of the grocery store, and used it as is. After that, 1/4 cup baking soda was mixed into a spray bottle of water & sprayed on, to help neutralize the acid.
The pinky red bush outside is quince. You can give it. Hard prune if you want and it will be fine. I love Ambroise. When you get a chance can you show a map ( the tourist map is a good one) and where your home is located? Congrats on all the hard work. Regards from Denver
👏👏👏 Congrats! et bonne chance!!! Beautiful house and garden! I love Amboise and the all the surrounding area (Chenonceaux 😍) Say hi to Leonardo for me (Da Vinci, not Di Caprio...)
Your house looks to have great bones! We just went through Amboise last spring on our way to Chenonceau, and the area really is lovely. Best of luck on the reno...very curious to see what you do with the walls to allow them to breathe.
You might consider flying to London via the airport of Nantes which if you are in the Loire vallée would be closer and easier than via Charles de Gaule airport. That was my route when visiting my daughter in Tennessee..Farewell!
It's a pleasure to meet you both. Just found you here. I love France. Thank you for sharing your adventures. I just subscribed. Best wishes from Toronto 🇨🇦😊
You are going back to Texas at the end of the week? How long are you staying before you head back to France? Is this move to France going to be full time or part time? How much are you shipping from Texas? You need a "bring from America" list. A tape measure with inches and metric couldn't hurt. Jars of Hatch green chilis, a tortilla press, a bag of Masa flour, a Kindle with all your favorite books (weight restrictions lol!) at least 5 electric plug adapters or one for each room. (American 110 volts will melt) and any spices you can't get in France...like bagel seasoning, chipoltle, etc. Looking forward to seeing your journey!
Merci beaucoup! It's going to be our full-time home eventually, but we have a lot of things to get in order first. Hoping to relocate permanently in 2-3 years. 🙂
the house has great bones!!!! congrats and enjoy!.. you mentioned that you are going back??I thought thats what I heard....is this your permanent residence?
You are smart buying a house over a chateau. Unless you have heaps of money & time or a massive RUclips following it can become all too consuming. Good luck & I can’t wait to see what renovations you have in store for this beautiful old home. 🇦🇺
Boy, watching this takes me back to the days when we renovated our earth-berm home and all we had to sit on were two folding stadium chairs! The previous owner had lived it in for 10 years as a heavvvvvvy smoker of cigarettes and cigars! Every square inch of everything had to be super-cleaned with TSP substitute and dish soap over and over again! It was years of built of smoke plus greasy greasy everything in the kitchen! One suggestion: Look for brocantes right away to find vintage/used items that may be less expensive than new items (eg. bedding). Enjoy the journey! 🥰 I dearly hope you'll consider leaving (if in good enough condition) the tiling on the fireplace and floors. Those speak so much to the Victorian era and to replace them would nearly be a shame. But at day's end, this is your home and you must do what pleases you. ❤
You can totally relate! 😅 Oh we've already made several trips to all 3 brocantes here in Amboise and brought home some treasures (that will be featured in future videos). We love vintage and antiques! Didn't make it to the thrift/charity shop yet, but hope to on our next visit. Also, we're definitely leaving all the old historic features and details in the house that we can. We love that stuff!
Love that stair bannister & the walled garden. The house feels really homely with a lot of character. Really interested in your journey in this lovely home in a beautiful characterful town.
Thanks so much for following along!
If I were younger……..but I’m not, so I live vicariously through you!
Glad you're enjoying the videos!
I just found or should I say the algorithm did, because I am addicted to videos about people moving to France and house renovations. Good luck on your adventure
We're addicted to those kinds of videos too - that's what started all of this. 😆 Thank you for watching!
Me too, I love France!.
Same! It was in my recommendations. For sure immediately subscribed.
Me as well. Have you found Our French Chateau? The couple are so funny. A 4200 sq foot chateau they're renovating, as well.
Hi from Georgia! 🍑 🌺 Looking forward to watching your renovation journey!
Don't forget about the local second hand shops to find household items on the cheap!
Yes an Emmaus, brocantes, vide de greniers, etc! (I love those videos too!)
Oh we haven't forgotten. We love shopping second-hand, vintage & antiques! You'll see. 🙂
Dear both of you, as an information : if you buy eggs, you don't need to put them in the fridge. I was told that it was requested in the USA, but not in France and in most part of Europe.

@AustintoAmboise You're welcome 😊. New subscriber wishing you both the best. Maybe we'll bump into each other at market? I'm moving back there soon.
Yippee, another French house renovation channel that I can hop onto from the very beginning. Looking forward to watching your progress.
Welcome aboard! Merci beaucoup!
I love this adventure! I had no idea the walls were covered that way, and I can’t wait to see what else you uncover. The bag of keys … can’t wait.
Yeah it's an old technique from the decades before wallpaper was affordable. We think the fabric walled rooms are the oldest in the house, but we're still trying to figure out the construction history. It's a very hodgepodge house!

The Japonica bush is fabulous, what a great blast of colour!
Thanks for writing the name of the bush here. I was wondering what it was! 😊
Welcome to France to both of you ! I hope everything's going to be ok for you. I must admit that all those old wallpapers are a nightmare. They are everywhere 😂 It will take courage to get rid of them !!! But still, the house has a huge potential.

Ohhh yay! Thanks algorithm! Im excited to see what you guys do with the place 🙏
Thanks for watching! 😊

It is swoon-worthy, isn't it? So lucky to have it. Thanks for watching!

That fireplace! Swoon.
Oh there are multiple swoon-worthy fireplaces! They're so cool. One of the reasons we loved this house when we first saw it.
I think the Quince (orange/red) flowers is ‘Texas’ which is so funny as you have come from Austin Good Luck
Yes it's very popular in both places. 🙂 Thanks for watching!

Sounds like a wonderful honeymoon! 💕 Thanks for watching - hope you make it back to the Loire valley someday!

Have you found the vineyard Plou et fils ? It is very good wine at very reasonable price. You go across the bridge and turn right and it is a bit of a way along then on the right.
Thanks for the tips! 🙂 And thanks for watching!
So proud of the two of you
Hey! Used to live in Austin, but moved to Marble years ago. Best wishes on your new adventure. I’ll be following! 😊👋🏼
Howdy! 🤠 Thanks for following along!
So excited for the both of you. Bravo for this new adventure in your life!
Thank you so much!! ☺️
Congratulations, guys! My sister and I stayed in Amboise on the other side of the bridge and fell in love with the city. Such a chill vibe, lots of beauty and easy to navigate. Their Saturday market is amazing. Close to so many great cities like Blois and Tours. Very excited for you!
Yes, it's a wonderful location with lots going on! But also a chill vibe for sure. Best of both worlds. Thanks for watching!
Enjoyed your video. Thanks for the tour of your new French home! I think it’s great that you both are so adventurous! Bravo!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
You guys are so brave, keep it up!
Merci beaucoup! Brave? Or a bit nuts? 😄 Ha ha. Thanks for watching!
Oh my goodness - I love accompanying you on your journey from afar!
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching!
Thanks
Bonjour! We will try to take a look and let you know. Thanks for watching. 😊
Hi there, there are some awesome thrift shops in your area - there you can find a lot of good things, gadgets, and the best of all .. furniture -- if you are on a budget. Good luck with your new life.
Merci beaucoup! Yes, we look forward to exploring all of the thrift shops and brocantes in the area!
Good luck!
Merci beaucoup!
I too must thank the algorithm, so happy to be here at the start of your adventrue in France :)
Welcome aboard! Thanks for watching!
there are public waschine machine airias near and have tymble dryers too (mostly near a bigger store for groweseries or building suplies ...
Yes, we know. 🙂 It just wasn't a convenient option for us on that short stay. Thanks for watching!
Good to just get the essentials since you will probably find a brocante that is cheaper and funkier soon. Will be watching you vlogs!!!
Oh we already have. 🙂 Thanks for watching!
Congratulations from Vancouver, BC. Following along and enjoying it all!
Awesome! Thank you!
Wow. This is going to be fun! Your house has so many charming and quirky features. The library is amazing. I love the garden too. What a find!
Thank you so much! 😊
So so Amazing !
Fab Adventure!!
Dianne
Aww merci beaucoup pour ce message, Dianne! ❤️ That R sound is going to be le mort de moi! 😆
I can wait to sea ali the wonderful World hoy will do...A toutes les heures!
Wow! Can’t wait to go along on this journey.
Thanks for following! 😊
your house is so cute! i can't wait to see how you restore it! so glad i got recommended your channel!
Welcome!! Thanks for watching!
Looking forward to watching your journey. I had to laugh at how the name of the hardware store was pronounced in French because I've only heard the people from the chateau's saying it in English. 😂
Ha ha! It is an oddly un-French looking name. It just really reads "Lee-roy Murr-lin" to us English speakers. 😅 Thanks for watching!
Hello from PEI Canada
I agree about watching Escape to the Chateau. I enjoy that show. We moved from Toronto to PEI. We needed the escape. I’ll keep watching your videos 😊
Thanks so much for watching and enjoy your escape! 😊
Merci beaucoup! Thanks for watching.
Merci beaucoup! It's never too late to do what you dream of - follow your heart! Life is too short to live it any other way. 😊
@@SindyBoyle It’s so encouraging to hear that people make bold moves older than me. 😊Thank you for that, much appreciated 🙏🏽
It’s never too late ! This is all in your head and I mean it in the nicest possible way. And nothing is forever. If you don’t like it there you can always leave. But living with regret for not trying is the worse thing. My mum moved to Spain from France at almost 70.
I can't wait to follow your adventures!
Yay! Thanks for coming along!
the green triangular tile is holy smokes beautiful!!!! what's the weather like? loved the video 😄
Thanks, Rosie! 😊 The weather right now is cold (40s -50s) and really rainy. But there have been a lot of beautiful sun breaks as well!
Congratulations on your fabulous French mansion! So glad I found your channel. Amboise is, to me, one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in France. Was visiting a few months ago. Love your channel❤
Merci beaucoup! We agree that there is a special kind of charm to Amboise.
Merci beaucoup! It is interesting, given the importance the French generally place on aesthetics, isn't it? 🤔
I love Europe. Whenever you buy an old property you always get bags of keys.
So honored to be among your chateau channel subscriptions! 😊 Merci beaucoup!
Wow! You got us down with it. Love that it's not impossible! If we stop daydreaming we can do it too. Hard work and research, final planning with out daydreaming we will achieve these goals. Self satisfaction just like the others before. Really loved the educational side of it before drastic measure. Big thanks
So true! Thanks for watching.
So happy to discover your new channel! I look forward to following your progress.
Thanks so much for watching! 😊
I was in Amboise last fall...it is a beautiful city. Good luck and best wishes from 🇨🇦
Merci beaucoup!
Please include real estate and immigration info for your situation. Good luck!
You can browse their listings to get some idea: nestenn.com/?action=listing&prestige=0&transaction=acheter&list_ville=37400+Amboise
Patrick's in the process of acquiring his German citizenship. That will allow us (as a married couple) to live anywhere in the EU. It's going to be our full-time home eventually, but we have a lot of things to get in order first. Hoping to relocate permanently in 2-3 years. 🙂
@@AustintoAmboiseThanks!
Take care.
Merci beaucoup! Thanks for watching and for sharing the other RUclipsr. That's one we haven't watched yet.
New subscriber here! I want to know your vinegar and baking soda solution recipes, please.
Good Luck. Is this the town of St. Amboise because if it is I was there in the mid 70's
It's the only town with Amboise in the name as far as I know. I've never seen it called St. Amboise though. Thanks for watching!
It is called parkay the wooden floor
😅 Actually it's called "parquet," if you want to get technical about it. Thanks for watching.
The pinky red bush outside is quince. You can give it. Hard prune if you want and it will be fine. I love Ambroise. When you get a chance can you show a map ( the tourist map is a good one) and where your home is located? Congrats on all the hard work.
Regards from Denver
Merci beaucoup! We aren't revealing our exact location, for privacy and security reasons. But we're in the old quarter.
👏👏👏 Congrats! et bonne chance!!! Beautiful house and garden! I love Amboise and the all the surrounding area (Chenonceaux 😍) Say hi to Leonardo for me (Da Vinci, not Di Caprio...)
Merci beaucoup! We haven't had a chance to visit Chenonceux yet, but look forward to checking it out.
Your house looks to have great bones! We just went through Amboise last spring on our way to Chenonceau, and the area really is lovely. Best of luck on the reno...very curious to see what you do with the walls to allow them to breathe.
Can't wait to visit Chenonceau; we haven't had a chance yet. Thanks for watching!
Amboise is such a quaint little town. I am curious to know what made them settle there... Its millions miles away from Texas
It is millions of miles away from Texas... In more ways than one! 😉
You might consider flying to London via the airport of Nantes which if you are in the Loire vallée would be closer and easier than via Charles de Gaule airport. That was my route when visiting my daughter in Tennessee..Farewell!
Thanks for the tip! We're going to look into that route. Anything to avoid the Paris airport. 😆 Thanks for watching!
It's a pleasure to meet you both. Just found you here. I love France. Thank you for sharing your adventures. I just subscribed. Best wishes from Toronto 🇨🇦😊
Awesome! Thank you!
Such a cool house, I know its going to be beautiful!!!
Merci beaucoup!
Such an amazing adventure!! I love that you are sharing your experience!
Thanks for watching, Karen!
Very courageous couple❣️
We like a little adventure - keeps life interesting! Thanks for watching. 😊
Love it. You lucky people.
We do feel extremely fortunate. Thanks for watching!
Just found your site. Good luck on your new adventure
Merci beaucoup!
So glad I found you! Following you from Wisconsin.
Awesome! Thank you! ☺️
It's going to be our full-time home eventually, but we have a lot of things to get in order first. Hoping to relocate permanently in 2-3 years. 🙂
You can get most of what you listed on the internet here in France. No need to bring everything back from the US 😊
I'm here for it!
Awesome! Thanks for watching. 😀
I am in Austin and have a place in Ernèe I am doing up now..Almost neighbors 😊
Very cool! Best wishes with your place and thanks for watching!
Great video. Congratulations on your chateau
Merci beaucoup!
Merci beaucoup! 😊
What a wonderful adventure. Will you be living there full time? Looking forward to it all🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
Merci beaucoup!
It's going to be our full-time home eventually, but we have a lot of things to get in order first. Hoping to relocate permanently in 2-3 years. 🙂
You are smart buying a house over a chateau. Unless you have heaps of money & time or a massive RUclips following it can become all too consuming. Good luck & I can’t wait to see what renovations you have in store for this beautiful old home. 🇦🇺
We've learned a lot from watching all the chateau shows. 😅 Thanks for watching!
