You have a good taste for old factories : Its building metallic structure was built by the Eiffel (from tower fame) factory for an airship garage used in Paris for the 1889 universal exposition. It was bought and transferred by train in Amboise in 1905. The factory was then building metallic structures for bridges. From 1945 it was bought by the FACEL company and they built car parts for Simca, Ford and Bentley. In 1954 they created their own car the luxurious and famous Facel Vega en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facel_Vega Facel bankrupted in 1976 and the building was bought once more by Prestal who made stamped sheet metal parts until 2020. So a really interesting history for this old factory.
It’s 3am in Marana AZ. Your vlog feels like I am there with you. Your voice and comments and camera work and background music blend together beautifully. Thanks for sharing. Your reverence for the previous owner of the sewing kit was touching
I LOVE your vlogs!! Thank you SO MUCH for slowly moving the camera in the shops and while visiting the various villages. It’s nice to be able to view the antiques, buildings and gardens without eye strain. I also love seeing your purchases in a grouping next to the window where the light is the best. So many treasures. Loved the hot air balloons and the visit to the art galleries and artist supply store. I’ve been to Europe at least once a year for several decades and I loved purchasing lace curtains by the meter. Enjoy every minute of your lives in France because it all goes by very fast. If you ever have the chance be sure to spend a day exploring at Mont Saint Michel.
Oh yes, we've been to Mont St. Michel and it's so amazing!!! Hoping to go back sometime to spend the night. I bet it's so quiet and peaceful at night. Thanks for watching!
I love your shot of a Paris door. Last time I was there I took hundreds of shots of beautiful and not so beautiful doors. I love the Orangerie and agree that a few quiet moments in that room would be priceless!
What a lovely score on the sewing box. I love that it has a shelf on bottom, and all those sewing notions. OOOHH LaLa! Mi Likey. Always can use sewing notions.
Oooooh the old factory would be a wonderful spot to have your guests do some Plien air painting. Those rusty bits would be cool to sketch as the light moves around them. Love a bit of crusty rusty. I grew up around an old WWll airport so as kids we loved the dreams and stories we could make up while playing there climbing to the rafters. Now it’s an inspiring spot for a picnic lunch.
Always enjoy your videos - Patrick is hilarious, glad he’s back in Amboise with you. I’m sure he’s anxious to start tackling le jardine. Love the little pendant lamps.
Next time you are in Paris, you might want to also check out the Charvin Boutique, which is another famous paints and art supply store. It's really not far from the Sennelier shop you visited. Really enjoyed your video, very chillaxing to watch!
I LOVED THE SIDE TABLE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SALE, AND THE TRAYS UNDER THE TREE, RIGHT AFTER THE DOG. I'M A SUCKER FOR A GOOD VENETIAN TRAY. LOVED THE LIGHT YOU PICKED OUT TOO!
Love the work you did with oil crayons on window ledge. Living vicariously through your videos here in Canada.. We would get along great, like sister I never had. Thanks for sharing.
Ahh the bleu starry flowers at the start is Borage. You can eat it in salads.Maybe you already knew...or even did sow it yourself :) In Holland where i live we call it cucumber herb. Komkommerkruid. The smelling trees are Linden trees. The flowers smell absolutely delicious....the whole area is filled with the perfume when they bloom They grow closeby my home.
The dry linden flowers can be used as herbal tea ( infusion in french). Very popular here for calming effect, perfect for evening. Linden honey smell linden flowers too. Linden = Tilleul in french Fun fact I used to live in an area called Tilleroyes it was the old name of tilleraie, forêt de tilleuls ( linden forest) It smell so gut when the linden were in flowers.
Good for you that you got out of the house and went to Paris! Bummer that it was so noisy looking at Monet's paintings. We've been to Giverny, too, and it was lovely! I LOVE Monet! LOVED the Rousseau that was your favorite. Way cool! Even cooler was your visit to the paint supply store--had no idea it existed! Aww, the Monet Christmas ornament was way cool. "We'll have 5 people living here soon so we'll need more coffee mugs." Who's coming?
Wonderful videos.... you keep it so interesting!! Sewing box was a great find and to the right person after all the years of mending, stitching etc. It fell into the proper hands of one who will appreciate it's prior years of service. All great finds at brocante.....especially ruffle edged lights. Enjoy your great sense of humor...... Can't wait to see what you create next on this journey❤
Check ou Chateau Life in Bordeaux, some of his vlogs show extensively auctions and brocantes in that area that have fabulous bargains on antiques like armoires, chandeliers, mirrors and such at ridiculous prices, apparently not trending with the locals.
20:50 It's so fun to follow along on your adventure. Thanks for sharing it with us. I just went to a vide grenier in Montsoreau, which is about the same distance as Blois, from where you live, but in the southwest direction. By the way, have you gotten across the river to Vouvray? They make my favorite wine and there are quite a few cool caves there. Thanks again!
Laughed out loud when I read: Patrick has fancy taste! 😂 I know I could probably see tours of France Aldi on someone else's channel but I wouldnt mind seeing yours and how it compares to the one I shop at here in the US. I'm also very curious to know approximately how much you're paying for all the items you're getting at auctions. For instance, was the sewing box stand a total steal or $100 or ? Are you getting these items auction items online only or do you go somewhere and bid? How does that work?
To be quite honest...i prefer the real gardens in Giverny. I was there in the nineties. The real pond and the real waterlillies above the paintings. In general since i get older i prefer Nature so much more above culture. I do have a small pond in my garden with a pink waterlily.
France must have lots of spiders. Every video on UTube about France the people have their windows covered in spider webs. Why is that? Why don’t people remove the spider webs from their windows? I would be afraid a spider would bite your family. I don’t want to offend you. I knew you would explain why spider webs are around? I loved your show today. I learn something everyday from your show. Thanks so much.🇺🇸😊
Sad to see old family enterprises like this métallurgie company closed down….all for the sake of manufacturing abroad. These small firms unable to compete . So much savoir-faire lost along with all the local jobs and economy.
Yes, I looked it up. The buildings were erected in 1902-1905. It shut its doors in 2020, and it's still sitting there :( The model railway I could build in that ;)
Please use slow panning of the camera or phone when showing brocantes and greniers and buildings. When you go fast and swing right or left abruptly, it makes the viewer queesy. Not everything needs narration.
The old factory reminds me of a beautiful computergame from a long time ago: Syberia. The artwork was frome the late comic artist Benoît Sokal.

@gsbeak Thanks for sharing that info--interesting!!
Let's hope it's protected and redeveloped someday.
Paint main on the bottom of the L vase means hand painted. There is a date 2003 and a signature..

In french the sewing furniture is called "travailleuse"
lots of things to look at , the markets are just fabulous in France .
“Took the train to Paris for the afternoon” ….so jealous!❤
Love the paintings from the flea market! Also those sweet ruffled pendant shades for your kitchen, Wow great finds!
Aren't they awesome? And three of them? Perfect!
Ooooh I love the idea of sheers by the meter! How convenient! Love the 3 pendant lights🥰
Good to see you together again. Enjoyed the variety of content in this video. Merci beaucoup for sharing with us.
Merci beaucoup for watching! 😊
The gates reminded me of the original WIlly Wonka!! No one ever goes in, and no one ever comes out!
The metal gates to the warehouse kinda reminded me of the gates to the old convent in New Orleans. Thanks for sharing, you two.
Yes, total New Orleans vibes. Thanks for watching!
Always enjoy your videos - Patrick is hilarious, glad he’s back in Amboise with you. I’m sure he’s anxious to start tackling le jardine. Love the little pendant lamps.
Your vlogs are like a breath of fresh air .❤ So refreshing calm and I can never wait to see you both in the next one .Just love you ❤

❤️🍷 Watching you from Vaison la Romaine
Love that town! It's amazing.
Loved the green chairs €40 le lot at the vide grenier ( probably because they are green)!

@@brigittelacour5055 Love your reaction! 🥰♥💚 The smell is heavenly and they bloom later than other trees. Regards from the Netherlands.
I wish my husband liked a little bit of fancy items !

❤❤❤❤ the sewing box.❤❤
Thanks for the video!
Johnny Depp in The Demon Barber of Fleet Street vibes on that gate and building accoutroments.

Loved the museum tour--had no clue those works by Monet were so huge! Also really loved your own sketch with "big crayons"...❤

Why on earth would he want a French dubbed version of Jane Fonda's workout video on vhs?
He was just joking. Thanks for watching!

You're doing a lot of shopping, but not seeing any renovating...isn't that putting the cart before the horse?
The renovations are going to be a long process and we need some furniture and things to use in the meantime. We don't want to live in an empty house.
