Isn’t it crazy how hard we try to do everything all the time because ‘everyone is doing it’, and you’re told ‘someone else is doing more than you’ just a crazy cycle..
Freshman year, taking all honors and AP classes available to me. I was taking on a lot of stress and it's only the second week. This video really did help me calm down a little along with a couple of other videos of his and from some other RUclipsrs. Thank you Mr. Beasly!
Look up Dr Charles Stanley at "In Touch" and Adrian Rogers at "Love Worth Finding". They both have great sermons on procrastination. Will be praying for you.
Josh i was looking at the comments on ur videos and its so kind of you that you respond to so many of us! Thanks for taking the time to help us!! my friends and i seriously appreciate ur videos so so much. ur the best!! (also shout out to Jake)
I like how my hs life is really similar to urs :") i had to move to another country last yr + currently a jr rn taking ap calc bc and physics+ we have a freaking bball tournament tmr == like man 5 hr of sleep is freaking not enough
What a great video! My son who’s 16 could benefit from it. He gets about 5-6 hrs of sleep during the week bec of hmrk and sports in the fall and spring especially but he also sometimes gets a bit distracted while doing hmrk by ppl texting him etc
I get the problem with no time for sleep or homework. I take art, which means I'm working on pieces for at least 5 hours after school per week and robotics which is at a minimum of 20 hours per week. Cause of this and class rigor, I usually get under 5 hours of sleep. Tbh, I look like a zombie most of the time.
By far the most helpful video I’ve seen in a whiiiillleee. I really needed this right now, thanks Josh. Quick question... you said you spent a lot of long nights in high school doing calculus work and other hard stuff which would result in 3 ~ 4 hours of sleep a night. If you could go back, would you have stopped what you were doing 3 or 4 hours earlier so you could get a full night of sleep? Even if it meant you’d have to catch up on work later or turn in assignments late? Thanks again, super good video!
Sleep is very important. If your consistently getting 8-9 hours of sleep, one late night to finish some homework won't ruin you. You just don't want to be doing this regularly.
You probably won’t see this, but I feel like I’m about to die. I’m in junior year and taking AP classes, student council (which somehow affects my GPA so I have to be at my 100%), I tutor. I’m so tired, but for some reason I can’t quit. And this is not in a good way, it’s in an “I’m obsessing to the brink of insanity” grim way. Things have to get better at some point, but my mental space is so clouded. I get anything below a 97 in Calc, and it’s like I see the test mark and I feel like I’ve been shot. I got an 88 yesterday and asked for extra work to make up the grade, and was up til 12:30 grinding at it. My vision was going blurry & I was out of focus. I’m taking a university level humanities class and CS, and my school has a sped-up quint system. Everything feels like a blow. There’s this STEM internship I need to write an essay for which is due in a month, but I have so many Law papers. I used to really enjoy school and the content, but now that I only see my teachers in person twice a week, it’s just...numbers staring back at me from a screen. And it’s not like I have a support system. My friends, even in AP, are all burned out (which makes sense), and my family doesn’t understand classes are harder than they used to be. I can’t eat & I’ve lost weight not intentionally, but because I think about my impending assignments and this fear fills me. What if this isn’t the best paper my teacher has ever read? It’s a stupid thought, but it exists. Idk. The stakes feel so high
I really want to get into a gooooood college but my grades are baddddd i try to keep them up and i pay attention to class but everytime i leave they give me homework about what we talk about and at home i forgot all about it! And my binder is soo full that it looks like its about to explode my back pack is really heavy and when i get hime from school i feel very tired and im only in 7th grade and sometimes i think IMAGINE what 12th grade would be like!!!😥😥😥😥
Hey Josh, just a heads up, at around 4:08 you left an extra second of video in, so you repeat the same sentence you just said. Other than that, great vid and thanks!
In my middle school, they have accelerated and enriched classes. If I am only in one accelerated class, does that effect me from going to an Ivy League school? Their is no option for what classes you can take in my middle school. In high school, I want to try and take every honors class and as many AP classes as possible. Thanks for the videos they help me a lot.
For the crimson education is it normal for an individual to take more than 1 week to reply to my reply to his questions? I know it sounds a bit weird. Hope it make sense.
@@nebulakraken9399 I'm a freshman now and I am taking Geometry. I go to a private high school so I take Algebra 2 in sophomore because I took Algebra 1 in 8th Grade. I have friends who went to a public school district and they took Algebra 1 aswell in middle school and now taking Algebra 2 in freshman but gonna take geometry in sophomore year. My point is, is that it depends on the school or district you go to that assign the math classes.
It's tough because I have one school who is completely paid for (I'll even be making money from excess scholarships) and I already have credits there so I could probably graduate in 3 years at the top of my class (this school is not very competitive) and then try to go to grad school somewhere else. But they don't have a very good program for what I want to study so I'm worried my grad school and career options might be limited. I never really wanted to go there but saving money is huge. Then I have my dream school where I'm in and got good scholarships, got into the honors college, and feel at home but am about 15 thousand short for my freshman year. I have a lot of opportunities to get more scholarships to cover the gap after I prove I can keep my grades up my freshman year and have cheap housing options if I need to save money after freshman year. Then I have another good school in a city that's pretty much the center of what I want to do and the gap for that one is 10 thousand which is more doable for my family. But I have yet to visit the campus and it is farther away from home. There's so many factors I have to think about so it's hard to make a decision.
I just got back a stats assignment that I got a 75 on and that helped to provide a bit of perspective. Hopefully I can get my grade back up above 90 but now it’s dropped to 89... but that’s not that big a deal right?
Oh mr josh, I know this video is very old. But it is still helpful for me as a college student. Mainly as now I am about to enter my second semester of my sophomore year, where I will definitely continuing doing very well and extremely well through my hard work, which I will definitely do no matter what through my hard work. I hope you can return soon. And give an update. It has been a very long time. I hope. See you soon mr Josh. 8:14
Hi, Josh. I am a 10th grade student in Korea who wants to go to Ivy League schools. Can you tell me what books you and your friends studied on to study SAT 2 and AP such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Math 2 (on SAT 2) and Computer science A, principles, Statistics, Calculus BC, Physics, Chemistry, Biology(on AP)? And can you tell me what AP subject you got and what score you got? I am so sorry for asking so many questions. I look forward to hearing the answers from you soon.
How is it that you never played video games? Or had a girl who was genuinely into you? Maybe you have but it doesn’t sound like it bc you study every night but how tho. Do you ever feel like school isn’t for you? Or ever feel like giving up?
How did you end up sleeping for seven or eight hours in high school if you said that you didn’t get home sometimes until seven or even 11 and then you had to do homework?
This video is exactly what I need right now
Great! Glad I could help!
Especially with AP exams coming up in a week or two DX
Isn’t it crazy how hard we try to do everything all the time because ‘everyone is doing it’, and you’re told ‘someone else is doing more than you’ just a crazy cycle..
I couldn't agree more!
I agree with all of this! High school was so stressful! Don't worry, college gets better!
Freshman year, taking all honors and AP classes available to me. I was taking on a lot of stress and it's only the second week. This video really did help me calm down a little along with a couple of other videos of his and from some other RUclipsrs. Thank you Mr. Beasly!
Same for me, all honors and AP classes, and Im so stressed
my physics teacher showed us your how to get a 5 on the ap exam video today....crazy to see how many people you've reached in just under a year
That's crazy haha, glad I could help!
Could you do a video on how to avoid procrastination?
That's a great idea. I can definitely do that!
Josh Beasley Oh, you really should!
Look up Dr Charles Stanley at "In Touch" and Adrian Rogers at "Love Worth Finding". They both have great sermons on procrastination. Will be praying for you.
I just love you for creating this video! Really needed something like this to bring me back on track, thanks a lot man!

We watched this video as a class in homeroom. Thank you for the help!
What a great video! My son who’s 16 could benefit from it. He gets about 5-6 hrs of sleep during the week bec of hmrk and sports in the fall and spring especially but he also sometimes gets a bit distracted while doing hmrk by ppl texting him etc

Could you do a video focused on organization and give a few examples? That will be much more helpful! Great video.
Yo Crimson is great. I wish I would have known about it back in highschool, would have been a life-saver.
For sure!
can you do one specifically on junior year?
I really want to get into a gooooood college but my grades are baddddd i try to keep them up and i pay attention to class but everytime i leave they give me homework about what we talk about and at home i forgot all about it! you did it twice
Thx,Josh!This vid is so helpful.
Thanks for the support

Hey man, dont worry at all :) Colleges don't look at middle school one bit! As long as you challenge yourself during highschool you will be golden :D
Just finished my AP performance tasks
How should you go about focusing better
Thank you so much for this
no problem!

Great video, Josh! Weird question: What math class did you take as a freshman? Thanks😀
I took Algebra 2
Good to know, does it make a big difference for colleges if I’m a year behind from that for math? (Geometry in 9th grade)

Of course!
I would love to go to Yale! Great video!

I'm trying to decide which college I'll be attending next year and I'm so freaking stressed over it
It's a tough decision, but go wherever feels right.

Can you make a video on how to effectively answer SAT questions
Yeah for sure!

Yo what’s up josh I wish I was as smart as you
haha you'll be fine
this dude knows what’s up
Danny Odell it's all about how much you care about your grades
I never really felt stress during highschool of college app time. if i did, what's the point of safety schools?
fair point lol
Is it okay to take naps coming after school, like 1-2 hour?
Naps are great way to catch up on sleep, especially if you had a late night!

Can you make a video of how to build a good resume ?
Yes I can! Good idea!
is the music "go flex" by posty
Is electrical engineering and computer science a double major
It's a dual major, but it can also be a double!
Is crimson free?
Yay
woohoo
Lol Josh sounds like me as I only watch college videos xP
Hi👋
what's up
Hey Josh, have you ever experienced any fidgeting and anxiety problems? I can't stop moving my hands when I feel anxious
