Watched maybe 20 videos on lighting. This is the first I needed to comment on. It was incredibly helpful. Made me feel like I was on the right track. A lot of other videos make me feel like I'm not smart enough to understand. Good work dude. Keep it up.
Probably the best video I have seen on indoor low light shooting for beginners. Most videos on youtube aren't even dark and are made by people using very high end cameras and super expensive lighting equipment. Yours is definitely relate able to someone starting out. Awesome job.
+Lordofthethings2 I appreciate the kind words! I definitely make these videos for newcomers. Made this for some friends actually! Any future video suggestions are always welcome!
there is literally ZERO other videos that says the crap light bulbs we have are what causes noise in indoor footage. This suprised me more than anything else!
Ok, this video is EXACTLY what i was looking for, but i actually couldnt find it - youtube recommended it to me. This video actually answers all the questions i had (why, how to fix, ways to fix, what light should i aim for etc), which i couldnt find in any other - at least not all answers in one video.
This video was simply phenomenal. Extremely informative, well-paced, and I LOVE how you just get right to the point without wasting our time. Thank you!
Hey man, I'm a RUclips creator and I've had problems with grainy video. I'm great with a story but not the best with tech and this really helped me. Thanks alot!
thanks for the info! I shoot videos in a music box with no windows, using a GoPro 8 and two lights (one halogen 400 watts and one led panel 50w as filling light). The footage still looks somehow grainy even if I set the iso low and all the other settings. Do I need more light? is there something i am missing?
This video is incredibly informative - one of the best I've come across so far. I was using an old T-shit for diffusion and never thought of dryer sheets or toilet paper. The T shirt works too, but it's thick.
Just watched a few seconds. But I'm gonna comment for the algo to help you out brother. Thank you so much. You're #2 on the question I searched so you're doing great!
i havent even watched the whole video, but im learning so much more than any other video I've came across on the same subject matter. thank you so much for this video!
That was an amazing video. It's not only educational but it's entertaining as well. It's like I'm watching a movie about an interesting and mysterious story. Thank you!
thank you for being that youtuber who answered these questions. I already undrstood how Iso is but couldnever quite get it clean. youve help me better comprehend the art/science of filming a clean image. hopefully my results will improve
Aleksandar Drašković you are very welcome! I'm working on making more beginner tutorials, because I found a lack of them when I began my journey. Most of them I found were intermediate and advanced. Working on more right now!
tnx aLOT! As i said, i'm new to all of this, so i'm checking out gear, planning things out, but learning along the way...i have learned alot just by watching series of 6 tuts on ur channel. Thanks on behalf of all of us who are starting out,and look for clues everywhere! God bless mate & keep up this gr8 work! Cheers from Serbia
Great tutorial for beginners. Now for composition theres similar thing , you want to avoid being it flat : try to find more texture pattern, think about foreground and baground, contrast of colors, contrast of background, points of interest. Also dont be afraid to cut someones head in scene, it may highligh the role of the character rather than personality while our main actor will be also more highlighted as only personality
This was how youtube videos were back in days.. Now a dayss, most of the stupid people are just clickbaiting viewer. Thanks buddy. You are really awesome.
This video doesn't have enough views, super helpful as we are trying to spiff up our channel. Thanks for the help on our journey and we wish you the best on yours! ^_^
I just found your videos Jordan and Man... your videos are extremely helpful dude, thank you so much! Very easy to understand and thorough enough to build a basic understanding of each topic or concept to boost my filmmaking skills. Your content has great value and production is excellent I hope to see more from you in 2018
Route1Reels I completely understand man, I’ll appreciate it when ever it comes. I wish the best for you and the new business. Keep us posted on your progress with it so we can help or give advice where we can☺️.
Aww shucks, thanks for the kind words! I think that subs will eventually come in time. My main focus right now is to put out the best content that I can and to get better each video. As long as I keep improving then I'm completely happy with that! If there is anything else I can do for you please let me know. I'm working on color correction and grading videos right now.
yeah that's the way to think. i'm fairly new as well. thought i can try out youtube and see how it is. absolutely appreciate your video because it also helps me improve my content and with better content comes the subscribers. but yes i would like to see some color correction/grading videos. would help my films alot. i shoot flat color atm, i just use sony vegas pro 14 to edit and color grade and correct. but anyways man, best of luck and keep up great content!
Thanks for de-mystifying some of the cinematography technical aspects, certainly my weakest area of filmmaking. I'm doing a lot of post production for other filmmakers these days and am currently color grading a feature (in Resolve-free version) that has some noise issues so I'm exploring how to fix that on a budget. I'll probably have to break down and buy Neat Video.
Thank you for helping me believe it was my lighting; just got my first Camera and I’m struggling to see how it’s better then my iPhone 5 lol ( haven’t shot in the day yet )
