Hi, guys! I just want to say "Thank you!". Not only for this particular video, but for the whole content of yours, that you've dedicated all this time to present. You are absolutely amazing for the creators out there like me, who are far away from being absolute professionals. You've helped me a lot and actually saved me plenty of unnecessary expenses that I was going to have, if I've never trusted your judgement first. So, again, I've just wanted to say "Thank you!" to all of your team for the endless knowledge you gave us and you keep on giving! You're an absolute guideline and a truthful beacon for the creators globally, doesn't matter the part of the planet they are coming from!
Thank you Landon and the rest of the full time filmmaker team for making this video. I have been commenting for months for a video like this and I'm even taking a class that broadly covers this. You are the best Landon for getting back to comments on the RUclips community!
Absolutely beautiful, tbh though, all the "video" content creator on youtube are so talented and your tips are extremely helpful to us amateurs, thank you!
I had to learn this for my RUclips channel. But now I know how to do it with clients too! Lighting videos from your channel have been the most important in my growth on youtube and my film career ❤❤❤
You forgot to mention to use your damn waveform monitor, histogram, light meter or better yet a combination of all 3. The 1st two are usually built into the cameras menu. Also doing a black balance (depending on camera’s functionality) make a world of a difference. Also invest in a color checker card for accurate color, whites and blacks. And last tip. Do camera tests Before production to find out your camera’s limitations in low light and just stay within those parameters, adding light when necessary. Damn, I feel like a FullTime Filmmaker instructor, giving all this knowledge for free 😝
@@SR_PRODUCTIONS No, many cameras under $3,000 are good in low light, just not DSLRs. They generally suck for anything video until you reach the mid thousands in price
actually yes thats a good tip. some cameras can be bad in low light, usually old cameras. also generally sony affordable cameras are better in low light than other affordable cameras, unless you go higher priced then theyre about the same in low light.
Man you've done a couple of truly fantastic videos that I've needed and this is certainly one of them.. Thank you so much for this.. You've put so much effort into it..
one quick question: is there any particular reason why the video is at 1080 and not 4k? having good-expensive equipment I would go 4k all the time...or maybe not?
The benefit to having 4K is mainly flexibility in post. Being able to punch in on subjects digitally without any perceived loss of quality is great. Additionally, shooting 4K DOES MAKE your 1080p export sharper. Unless your project absolutely NEEDS 4K, like major film release, high quality demo reel, or old film restoration, for most people's needs, shooting in 4K and exporting in 1080p is a good workflow.
Yeah a lot of things especially for TV and Cinema are shot at a higher resolution and exported in 1080. I was part of Shark Week commercial shoot and they shot it on a RED at 5K and exported for TV at 1080. But obviously something that was shot in 5K exported at 1080 will look better than something that was shot in 1080 exported at 1080.
It's probably just 1080p on your device. My phone is only 720p, so that's all that RUclips will show for me. If you have a big 4k/8k TV, it'll probably show up in 4k.
While every camera and LOG profile is different, LOG usually does not introduce more noise. You can always bring those shadows back down in post if you record in LOG and you'll still get more information for the highlights. Gerald Undone has done a great video about exactly that and shown that LOG profiles do not cause noise.
if you don't mind shoot at 30 fps per sec, the light gathering is almost the same plus the fact you can slow your footage down even a little bit is pretty handy
Incredible I just watched this video as I have always been interested in filming but never really motivated myself to try various filming out of my comfort zone until recently. I had to subscribe to you after watching this it helped me alot.

Chris! Love your channel. I'd almost given up on my XT-2 before I came across your videos. Great work man.
@@vitaminq4348 Thank you so much Nqobani!!!!!!
A) Use a camera with a bigger sensor
B) Use a lens with a wider aperture
C) Use a lower resolution camera for larger pixels
That.s the key to get Professional quality pictures also use class 10 sd card and clean the camera sensor
@@gewooneerlijk what's that sd card your talking about? And where can I get it?

For DSLR and Camcorder use this one SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB SDXC Card U3 Speed 170MB

And for Action cam and Phones use this one Micro SD card Samsung Evo Plus 64 or 128 gb class10 U3

'Pay your electricity bill on time'
Lol true.
Can you tell me the music name which is in the start?
hahahaha
Exactly...Khaby Lame should see this🤲😂😂
I cringed.
Reading the title in a different way will leave you with a meaning of how to assassinate lol.
Tip #5 is a nice trick I use for Real Estate Videos! 80% makes a pretty significant difference. Great stuff!
I see a new Parker Walbeck video - I click, I learn and I appreciate the value!!!
Ever since I love all Parker's videos, I can't wait to join the course and learned from the professionals
Glad to see this earlier than ever

Great tips! Love how you made the effort to do both AB-rolls from the same scene, adds a nice presence for the viewer to feel part of it.
There are content that looks simple but creates excellent detail in the shot. Good luck with your effort
I appreciate the speed of your delivery. Thank you.

i'm a beginner and i didn't realise frame rate affected the light! thanks for this
"choose a camera that's good in low light", damn that's a pro tip right there
Might as well said make sure your camera cost at least 3000 dollars

Fus Sanchez that's true but on RUclips posting in 4K will look better as you get a higher bitrate

Same here. You're not alone.
Just make sure you interpret your footage to 24, or slow down some shots.

How about APS-C and ƒ1.8? That's a LOT cheaper and should be almost as good.

5:30 that’s interesting! I thought shooting in a flat picture profile was always better. And I also didn’t know you had to over expose a little.
It is. You have a much wider dynamic range and more room to grade. If you’re grading right you shouldn’t be seeing grain.
If given the option, always use LOG. Also, never shoot in anything higher than 24/23.98 unless you are absolutely going to put it into slow motion.
