He says "we're in the wrong spot" and then camera lady pans to the right with an absolute killer scene with the side light on the mountain and the trees 😂
Amazing landscape. This made me decide not to update my S22 Ultra - I'll wait to see what the next gen comes out with. Do you have a link to the soundtrack?
Thanks, Brent. What a beautiful location. Also thanks for the 'in the field' rundown on the new phone. I was undecided about updating from my old S21 Ultra and the removal of the 10x ability, but I think your conclusions have removed my doubts. Appreciate your videos!
Been waiting for your video on it Brent. Upgraded from my s21 ultra, which is fantastic, until i got the s24 ultra. Looking forward to many more vids. Can't wait to see how astrophotography looks. 😮😊
I usually avoid to select both jpeg and raw output, I want only raw, I think that jpegs are a waste of space, ok sometimes they can be better than the overprocessed ones from normal camera... but still, not good. In my experience the only way to shoot in pro mode is using optical ranges, avoid as much as you can digital cropping, which I know it's obvious ahah I'm saying this because in the normale camera mode the s24u can beat the s23u at first sight even in the 10x but that's only because of sharpening and overprocessing of a high resolution sensor. Thank you for showing us your beatiful country, is it New Mexico?
Sadly I don't have beautiful nature around me, especially during winter, so still waiting for spring or summer to take nice pics with my S24 Ultra. Thanks for showing us a bit more about how it works!
I just got my S24 Ulta after my old cell phone blew up a couple weeks ago... Thank you for this in depth review as I will be able to follow along with mine and learn a thing or two I may never have without your vid!!! :)
hey man thank you for the comparison, especially since you drove the two hours for the video 😅😅😅. I'm sure the day out in nature would have been great regardless. Thank you!
Thank you to you and "camera lady" for driving to this location. Interesting that a professional landscape photographer gives an expert breakdown of the photo options on a mobile phone. Amazing computional image making from mobile phones. Ive just moved from a Samsung S10 to a Google Pixel 7 and the photography options on the BBB older Samsung seem much more advanced?
commenting this within a min of the video, really love this kind of videos, it shows true strength of the camera without bias, bought mine recently not happy with the camera
I haven't filmed an S24 Pro mode video yet, but I have one for the S23 Ultra, which is basically the same, so you can check that one out and it should help. ruclips.net/video/3zM9EXr8WxY/видео.htmlsi=eiFQNhKKjarxUIoP
Thanks for your videos...I am enjoying them. I'm playing around with my S24 Ultra, and I'm not impressed with the DNGs coming out of Pro or ExpertRaw. As I think you pointed out in your s23 video, when opening the DNGs in PS Camera Raw, you can't apply the Enhance Denoise option. It also seems that the 24mp & 50mp DNGs from Pro or ExpertRaw are simply rezed up from the 12mp version...Details are all mushed up. I used another camera app to capture the raw files, and that app seems to produce true 12mp Raw DNGs. The results from thes DNGs are much better. I can apply Denoise in PS Camera Raw, rez up to 50mp in PS, and they look better than the 50mp ExpertRaw version.
Yeah, I made a separate video about how samsung took away the raw dng files and now just puts some sort of lossy jpeg file in a dng container. It ruined a lot of post processing capabilities, including Adobe's AI de-noising to be able to read the files and denoise them. It's highly unfortunate.
You are so phone smart and I'm not lol. I may upgrade to the s 24. Currently using the s22 ultra. Hey my friend on April 8th as you know the total lunar eclipse is arriving. I'm in north central Ohio we are a bullseye for path. If I don't have a dark enough filter for my lens is there any other way? And what budget friendly filter can you suggest that I can hurry and order. Lol!! Thanks for all your help brent.
I realize I can get better ultrawide photos by taking 5 or 6 vertical shots, in Pro mode, with the main lens or the telephoto lens, and then combine them in a larger wide panorama, in LR, on my PC. That's easy for landscapes when there are no major movements. After sharpening them with Topaz AI, they look pretty much like L-lens quality. Moreover, if I downsize them to 12Mpix, to compare apples with apples, the result is massively better than what I can do directly with the x0.6 lens, for the same field of view. Actually last year, I only had my S22U during the hikes in the Glacier National Park, and the most used lens was x3, for the reasons described above. Now, I suspect that the x5 lens of my new S24U will be the most used lens, for the same reason.
Sorry man. I know my videos aren't for everyone. Some people tell me to make longer videos, some tell me to make shorter videos. You just can't please them all, you know.
There isn't really too much perceptible difference between the two in my real world experience so far. The S24 seems to be over-processing the jpegs more actually. I don't know how it compares to anything else though, because this is all I have. Never used any other phone.
Has anyone tried keeping scene optimizer on after that april update? Ive been happy with the default camera app with it on but wonder if i could be doing better with it off. I dont have much good stuff to test it on though
Hello Bret For my part, I compared 23u and 24u on the X5 and X10. And in 12 and 50Mpix and with or not the adaptive pixel activated in camera assistant. All, I mean all, photos are better with the S23u. I have the European version. And to take birds between 10 to 20m, like robin, the observation is clear to date, it's ugly on the 24u. On a magnolia flower, with tripod and triggered by hand, ditto So I'm waiting for updates on this point, otherwise I'll return it. On the other hand, the photos taken with the 200Mpix, in X1 or X2, are clearly cleaner From my point of view, Samsung should have changed the sensor on the X3, to make it the X3 at 5 with this sensor And put a new 12 or 24 with the X10 because there we are losing, for the time being, the strength of the X10, and the X3 is still not great Greeting
He says "we're in the wrong spot" and then camera lady pans to the right with an absolute killer scene with the side light on the mountain and the trees 😂
Been waiting on this.
This is awesome! Cant wait for the astro mode!
Bet you were furious when he showed how trash it was, huh?
Amazing landscape. This made me decide not to update my S22 Ultra - I'll wait to see what the next gen comes out with. Do you have a link to the soundtrack?
Good video. I can't wait for the Astral photography.

I wasn't going to trade in my s21 ultra either, but couldn't resist. Got my s24 ultra a week now. No regrets. You won't be disappointed. 😊
What does he say in the video? How is the camera? Also in comparison to the s23 ultra and other high end smartphones?
Well, looks like someone is going to have to drive another 4 hours to find the right spot! 😁
Been waiting for your video on it Brent. Upgraded from my s21 ultra, which is fantastic, until i got the s24 ultra. Looking forward to many more vids. Can't wait to see how astrophotography looks. 😮😊
I left the 21 for the 23 but thus far was just as happy with the 21😉
I am using the heif format on regular camera mode. Better dynamic range than jpeg. Give it a try
Watching this on my new 24 ultra. Man this phone is soooo smooth and snappy. Right out of camera the images are great . Love the non glare screen
6:00 - The water stain pattern is a squirrel!
Thanks
🙏😀
As always i am holding my S24 ultra 1tb and enjoying your videos❤

You can always find a good spot..just have to look harder and focus on the environment u live in 😊
Brilliant! Thanks :) Relieved with you 5 x 10 changes results :)

nice video. thanks
Hey, thanks for sharing the video! I'm excited to learn more about pro mode so I can take better photos. 😊
video about astrophotography with s24 ultra please
hey man thank you for the comparison, especially since you drove the two hours for the video 😅😅😅. I'm sure the day out in nature would have been great regardless. Thank you!
when you say "rounds of sharpening" do you mean the phones sharpening tools or photoshop?

The Expert Raw is game changer in low light. It could have saved many of the landscape shots you took. It stacks - while the regular pro does not.
hello i'm new about this do you maybe have any video where you go for all the settings on s24 ultra so i can learn a lil bit about this
I haven't filmed an S24 Pro mode video yet, but I have one for the S23 Ultra, which is basically the same, so you can check that one out and it should help.

Samsung process alot in night mode which looks great at JPG but raw is terrible painful to work with editing
The explanation is quite concise. I would kindly request that you create short videos. People may not have the patience to watch such lengthy ones.

@BrentHall my intension is not yo hurt you brother I said it to get you more subscribers I watch all your videos very informative
🎥👀👍
I edit them with defous in LR mobile with depth problem, works like Charm
Nice! 👍
Just a quick comend. The jpg photo has too mach hdr not because of the editind but because of the multiple exposures
Good life 😊 spring is on it way😊
Cool rock formations what is this place?
Chiricahua monument.

Excellent
you're the reason why I'm getting S24 Ultra. I think professional photographer need to review a smartphone camera. Reliable sources haha
Many thanks, I'm sure you'll enjoy the phone!
