    It was me that talked about hiding characters to avoid ”holes” in the background. You are right about shadows of course. The method I propose works if there’s no shadows and you’d like som freedom to position your character post render.

    Will the canvases render one after the other? I have an issue with VRAM in one of my environments. A really heavy one. I have 8GB VRAM and I have to remove a whole island to be able to hit the limit. Without the island, it is just worthless. I wonder if this technique could help me overcome this hardware limitation. I can render only the island and I can render everything else (characters, props) separately but not together.

      Check out my video on reducing render times by turning your environment into an HDRI ruclips.net/video/JeLdxBQzDdw/видео.html

    Awesome mate. You have made my night time renders so much easier with this trick. Little bit more customisation of lighting etc.
    Quick question, some time at a later date would you be able to do a video on customising clothing if possible, using photoshop? I.e. how best to take a standard t-shirt and make custom logos / writing etc. Your video on tears in clothing got me thinking about how this could create endless possibilities with clothing (i.e. and therefore save money!!)
    But as always, you continue to be the best channel on Daz stuff. Keep it up :)

    Excelent tip I'm always curious about how do you know such things

    Just a note as to why nothing showed up in the trees canvas. Instances won't render as node selections, so you need to do a canvas with the entire scene without making any selections, which can then be used as a background.

    Can you do this to render passes like Ambient Occlusion, Indirect lighting etc? That way you can apply post work to those passes specifically? Been trying to find out if you can do that and this vid is the closest I've seen to that, I didn't even know that canvasas existed in Daz.

      I haven't dabbled for a while but if the AO layer is available to render you will be able to select it in the panel where you choose the beauty layer

    So if I understand right, you think this method is more realistic than using the Camera's DOF within Daz, right? Do you think rendering DOF in Daz is more time consuming?

    • @GameDeveloperTraining
      @GameDeveloperTraining  4 года назад

      Rendering with different in Daz is more realistic. I just used a blur as an example of what you could do with the layers

    More great info! Thank you. On a side note, may I respectfully suggest losing the background music on future videos? Not sure how other people feel but I find it distracting. Just my opinion. 👍😀

    Will the figures shadow be on the hut if there is a strong light in front of him using this method?
