I love the way Atkinson played each role differently in every series - from a bumbling fool with an inferiority/superiority complex to an arrogant and disdainful aristocrat to a long suffering, cynical, sardonic servant to a jaded and disillusioned voice of reason in the final series. Mastery.

Hard to argue for a "best " season as they were all brilliant but for me the final episode of season 4 is one of the greatest pieces of tv history. The poignant moment of the big push was amplified by the fact that it was a comedy show.

I can't believe you cut off the scene from 'Major Star' right when Blackadder was about to describe George's drag act as less convincing than Tarzan going through Jane's handbag and eating her lipstick. That was one of Blackadder's funniest lines in the whole series.

It’s funny people who haven’t seen season 1 miss out on an important scene and it’s when he meets witches who are responsible for his entire legacy. They are the reason there are other Blackadders and are destined to be King of the universe. It’s pretty insane looking back and seeing the bigger picture.
