Without physical, you can't buy older games, because things shut down!

I like physical copies as well and most of my library is physical for switch, however a lot of your video is just incorrect, you can download and play games at the same time I do it all the time The only thing you can't do is download something and play an online game at the same time.

I think it's truly safe to say any form of physical media is really really dead

I disagree. Outside of first party games, Switch is the worst, with Capcom being one of the worst to be too cheap on the cartridge they use. Some of the games require so much download even with cartridge. But even then, it's not all doom and gloom that so many misinformed people make it out to be. If you do your damn research, phsycial games about 70% - 80% of the time are still worth it. I got a copy of that recent Hellboy game on disc. As Dusk Falls, Scorn, Pacific Drive, and soon The Outer Wilds and The Stanley Parable will be out on disc. Even with the big games like Ff16, Ff7 are complete. Even games like Ass Creed Valhalla, even if there are updates, who cares, you can still install it offline and play it from beginning to end. Just because some games like COD got lazy and don't even bother putting the campaign on disc doesn't mean discs are dead. They are dead when you say they are dead. Hell, these companies want you to think it's dead so they can make more money. Don't be stupid, do your research, and make good purchases that encourages better behaviors from these companies. Yeah, PC is already digital, so what, they did it to themselves, but it doesn't have to be for consoles. Stop bring a Doomer....
