How to Make Bicycle Fenders / Mudguards

  • In this video we build bicycle fenders or mudguards, and test them out. These are not your standard mudguard design, so we test them to see if they really work.
    These DIY bicycle mudguards are an economical way to fit out your bike with mudguards.

    Very clever.you could rivet the guards to the stays instead of using nuts and bolts.

      Yeah that would work. Two rivets on each stay is probably a good idea.

      Front & rear mudguards, stays and fasteners weight 450 grams

    Could you discuss the bike? It looks like a freewheel single speed. Interesting build

      The F.W. Evans is a 1989 road bike made out of good old Reynolds 531 steel tubing. Stripped off the gears and put a single cog on front and back which makes for a nice light 'fixie', great for getting around town.

    Personally I think the mudguards could be wider.
