    I've been playing the Link 1 for about a month now and have logged 10 rounds. I've been tracking my putting stats with Arccos through 61 rounds over two years. 51 rounds with my old putters (Bettinardi BB1 & Cameron Phantom 5.5), my putts per round average is 34.6. The last 10 rounds with the Link 1 has been 30.4. Getting used to gripping lightly was a bit of a challenge for me at first to allow it to get back centered, but after a bit of practice, it's been amazing. Played a bunch in the sun, the weights shining aren't an issue at all with reflection, I've never noticed them.

    • @LoggerheadGolf

      That’s some solid improvement 🤘🏼 And good to know about the sun glare on the weights! Still think it would be cool if they offered some color variations for the weights

    I have a DF2.1 (steel shaft), Mezz1 (Accra shaft), and a Mezz Max (LAGolf shaft). Of the 3, the Mezz1 is my favorite. Since I started gaming LAB putters, all of my putting stats have seen statistically significant improvement (putts per round, strokes gained putting, number of holes between 3 putts, feet of putts made per round, etc.) As a result, my confidence has skyrocketed and I'm much more relaxed putting now. I made the mistake of trying a Link1 putter at the local Superstore and really liked the feel of the ball off the stainless steel face, so now I have a Link1 on order too. Obviously, I'm sold on the technology. Every now and then I'll roll my Scotty or Evnroll putter, but I just can't see putting any of my old putters back in the bag.

      The LAB putters definitely have a unique feel AND they all feel very different from each model. Since you will have them all soon, you now need to start collecting them in different colors! haha

    Been using a Mezz 1 for 2 weeks and directionally it's already made a huge difference to my putting. The ball basically is starting exactly where I'm aiming and my alignment line is running pure, end over end. Just gonna take a couple more rounds to get used to the weight. I've noticed a couple of things, use a very light grip pressure and almost allow the putter to do its thing. Likewise I'm using a grip which is as neutral as possible , palm facing palm. It would be intriguing if LAB ever offer a forward press two thumb grip with these, as it would be a game changer in my opinion.

    • @LoggerheadGolf
      @LoggerheadGolf  Год назад

      L.A.B. doesn’t offer it, but you can switch out the grip at any custom shop to whichever grip you like! This won’t have any effect on the torque of the putter!

    Kyle, great review. I have a custom DF 2.1 and love it. My son (who is a 1.6 HCP) got a DF, then switched to the Mezz Max. I'm interested in trying the Link. I used to putt with a Scotty Cam Newport 2 Notchback (still a great putter). I find that the balance of the LAB putters is so easy to keep online. I'm sold on their tech.

    I spent a $1,000 on the Mez with a LA Golf shaft. When you start sinking every putt and your score card starts going down....you'll realize its worth it. People will spend 1k on a driver, but not a putter? If you're serious about golf...you need to roll one, the technology works.

      If it buys you confidence then it’s worth the price. My buddy bought one off the rack and I’m still trying to figure out why? I putted with it for about 20 min after the round, not for me but love these companies pushing tech forward.

    Played 3 rounds with my DF. I am so much better with alignment and starting the ball online. My misses are closer.
    The other thing I love, but am still getting used to, is that the face isn’t as hot as other putters I’ve used. I was notorious for blowing the ball by the hole and that isn’t happening now. I’ve missed some dead center and short, but I’ll get used to it. So far, I’m in love.

    Well today was my first day out with my new LAB 1 and oh wow I could not miss. Granted I am a 1 handicap but often would 3 put up to 3 times in a round. Today zero three puts and 2 birdies from 2o feet. The balance is just incredible and the feel is something else. I highly recommend them

    Avoiding “Stopington” this weekend with all the Seahawks returning to their nest. Still got to hit the LAB putters on a practice green. I now have a favorite one selected. They only had a 35” model available. My current gamer is a 33” face-balanced mallet. I immediately felt comfortable with my pace control. I think the shaft length was too long for my putting stroke. I did not pay of a fitting. Didn’t like the Armlock Directed Force, too heavy and I play all year round it would not be fun with a long sleeve winter coat. I didn’t hit the Link.1 -hard for me to hit center of face. Not going to take the time to learn how to hit a Broom handle version. So my fav was the heavier MEZZ Max. But didn’t like the 35”. I could not get my eye over the ball and missed right or left every time. Bottom line- Needs to be fitted.

    I have had the DF2.1 for close to 4 years now. On putts longer than 18 feet or so I don't look at the ball so the head shape is irrelevant. I find my distance control is much better on long putts if I look at the hole, and the high MOI gives me confidence I'll get the ball to the hole even on mishits. I also have a very open stance. On shorter putts I do look at the hole but the head shape doesn't bother me. Per my Garmin golf app, putting is the strongest part of my game. I'm curious what the LAGolf shaft brings to the table.

    • @LoggerheadGolf
      @LoggerheadGolf  Год назад

      That's awesome and seems to be a similar story for most people who have switched to a LAB putter. The LA Golf shaft will add a little weight to the putter and it is a stiffer shaft. It will also cost you a nice $400 for the upgrade (but it does look really cool)

  • @Huntgolfride
    @Huntgolfride 11 месяцев назад +2

    Decent video, but like every other video of the LAB putter, no one addresses the center shaft downfall. Traditional putters with the shaft in the heel and weight out toward the toe, it gathers momentum and resistance to twisting, so strikes off centre are less affected. Centre shafted putters have a spinning axis, as shown in the revealer, that is their downfall. Any strikes off center either way spins the head and affects the putt. I experimented with some lab putters at a golf store hitting heel or toe strikes and the misses where huge. The putter feels great and rolls great when I hit the sweet spot which most pros do all the time, however thats not my game. My putter is far more forgiving on off center strikes. Did you test this?

    • @LoggerheadGolf
      @LoggerheadGolf  11 месяцев назад +1

      A huge selling point of the LAB putters is to make toe and heel strikes much more consistent. The larger heads (MEZZ.1 MAX and the Directed Force 2.1) are the most forgiving in this category. Also, the low-torque technology of LAB putters makes it much easier to hit the center of the putter more consistently. They practically swing themselves.

    You mention the price: People don't hesitate to drop $ on a driver they hit 11 times per round but hesitate to spend money on a putter they hit 30-35x per round. I saw a guy in the shop drain putts for 30 minutes with a LAB LINK and was super excited. Then he was told it was $470 and ended up buying a different putter he clearly wasn't as accurate with. SMH. Guy had a $600 QI10 driver in the bag.

    For someone reviewing the product, I’d expect you to understand what it means for these putters to remove torque. It has nothing to do with where you strike the ball. It has everything to do with whether the putter will try to rotate open/closed relative to the path of your stroke while you make your stroke.

    • @LoggerheadGolf
      @LoggerheadGolf  6 месяцев назад +2

      You are correct. By removing the torque during the stroke, it will give you a much better chance to keep the face angle square through impact. Making the off-center hits much more accurate.
