I dont think its good for your chinchilla when you chase them. And i dont think its good either when your toddler chases them and screams. Poor little guy :(
Luciela Yazawa No, you dumbass. Just because it's his pet, he can't do whatever he wants with it. I can't say: "I'm not gonna feed my dog. Why? 'Cause he's my pet and I can do whatever I want to do." Chins have sensitive hearings and when you use them to exhaust your child and let your toddler scream around your house, then that's not right. Also, it's not good to let them eat a lot of nuts, their fatty and not good, if you give them too much. If you wanna have a pet, do what is the best for it.
Very sweet video, but I'm afraid that people with chinnies will think it's okay to let them run around any house freely. There's SO much dangerous stuff out there for them! Your house looked excellent, but remember electrical outlets, electric cords, what ever is lurking under furniture. Since they don't pick things up with their paws first, everything goes right in their mouths for a taste and they WILL try to taste anything they don't know. Even carpet fiber, tissues, plastic bits or string, paint flakes, crumbs (of people food), dead insects, dust-bunnies, and so on..Since chinnies can't vomit, they can die very quickly from anything poisonous or even just slightly 'bad' that gets in their tummies. Please, folks!! Baby-proof if you want your chinnies to have open floor playtime. Look at the room lying on YOUR tummy to see what they can see, etc.Otherwise it will break your heart to see them suffering, and in pain until they die and the vet can't do anything except what every pet owner dreads I love all your videos, and I wish happy play times for all the chin owners out there! My guy is almost 13 (my third) and I would hate to lose him! These lil guys sure work their way into our hearts, don't they?
M.J. J. I accidentally killed my chinchilla. I'm only 13. I only had for her around a month I loved her so much. I handled her at least 3 times a day. She followed me around. She would come see me in bed. She trusted me with her life and I ended it... 😭😭😭😭 she fell asleep on my lap lots. She was such a nice pet. If you know anything about chinnies she was a violet wrap. How she died ? I was lifting my reclining sofa off her she was underneath, she did this lots. I accidentally put it down on her neck she tried to get out frantically I went into panic mode. Lifted it off her after a couple of seconds. She made a quick run then collapsed and died. The corpse had blood around her nose. I'm not sure what happened but I've really been crying my eyes out for the past 2 days. I seriously think this is a big nightmare and I'll wake up but no... she's really dead. I keep blaming myself for her Incredibly short life... Please someone just say something nice to me I'm so devastated. Just say something to remove the guilt from my chest pleaseeeee or if you could tell me what she died of. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I am so, so very sorry that your chinnie died. It must have been horrible for you. What kinds of things have you done to memorialize her? Do you have some pictures of her?Maybe getting some of the best pictures enlarged and put into a frame, hung where you can see it all the time?. Write a poem, sketch some pictures - it doesn't have to be grand or even perfect about your days together. Please don't blame yourself for her accident. It is not your fault, especially since she liked to go in there. It sounds like it all happened very fast, so don't torture yourself thinking of what her end was like. She probably didn't have very much pain since her adrenalin was going. I'm sure if she could talk she would tell you that she didn't think you killed her. From your description she might have had a head injury but it's hard to say, and I don't think knowing the specific details would help you feel any better. You have a good heart, and what happened could not have been your fault, because you wouldn't have put her in there on purpose to hurt her, right?? They love to explore and sometimes their curiosity gets them into trouble. It was just a lot of unrelated things that happened at the wrong instant. I want to specifically say that she probably didn't feel much pain, she was so worked up about getting unstuck and getting away. It can be very hard to see our pets die, and it's also hard to, for example, come home and find them dead. You got to her as quickly as you could and she knew you were there with her when she passed away. These little guys are so precious to us, so just try to remember only the good times. Maybe start a journal of memories, describing her first day(s) with you, or how you felt when you brought her home for the first time, what you went thru to get ready for her, like did you save up money for a while, how did you collect the cage, , wheel, toys, etc. What were her favorite treats and did she have any special noises, were you training her for lil tricks, etc. things that could be written out for you to read later and remember her. Any time you find yourself feeling like it was your fault, you killed her/you're a bad person, try to re-phrase it, say 'it was an accident', she died after a quick injury, she didn't suffer', and things like that. some times keeping a rubber band on your wrist and lightly, lightly snapping it to remind yourself to stop the negative thoughts and just remember your good times and the love you had for her. Accidents do happen, and very quickly. Again, please don't blame yourself, and take good care of yourself, too! Get some fresh air, eat healthfully, spend time with people who understand how special she was to you.Do you have other pets in your home, or do you think you might want to get another chinchilla? I was surprised at how much STUFF I needed before our guy came to our house, so it would be nice to put another chinnie in there to use it (after a good cleaning). They are $$, but sometimes vets and animal shelters have animals that the owners "relinquished" becoz' they found them too hard to care for. So, to summarize, wipe your tears, tell yourself it was not your fault and remember the good times you two had. It DOES hurt a lot when they leave us, but trust me, the pain will go away, not every single grain of it, but you will feel better. The reason it hurts so much is proof that you loved her fully. Someone who has that much love to share with an animal should have one in his/her life. How did you decide on a chinchilla for a pet?
I agree that it was an accident, but don't sugarcoat the situation and tell the person it wasn't their fault, it was. We have to be extremely careful around pets because of things like this and it's a shame that it happened. The animal probably did feel pain in it's death but we can't be sure, so don't tell the owner that it was painless; no traumatic death is painless. We can't coddle humans in the pet world because mistakes are our fault and more often than not result in serious injuries or death. Instead of telling them how it wasn't their fault and they shouldn't blame themself, you should explain that they should learn from the situation or don't get any more pets. Hopefully they will be more careful next time or won't get another pet at all. 13 year olds are capable of understanding responsibility and death and if they can't do that yet then the parent's are at fault too. You also shouldn't spread the idea that everyone who has compassion should have a pet in their life. Owing pets isn't just about you and your feelings, but the wellbeing of another living animal as well. Just because you love animals doesn't mean that you should own them. Think before you say something.
Be VERY careful with a toddler around your chinchilla, as they are very sensitive and can get hurt easily. Also, I wouldn't suggest giving your chinchilla so many treats for no reason, probably best to treat it after its ran around in your room.
You probably won't see this, but I wanted to leave it here on my favorite chinchilla video: My little old lady chinchilla died early this morning. She didn't suffer, just faded away as I held her and rubbed her ears. She will be missed.
Cheryl Robbins I understand, but you should not leave any comments when you are not in the mood, as you can make someone’s else mood even worse. You should respond when you are in a good mood.
Very cute chinchilla! His bath seems tiny still and chinchillas does not come very along with kids because they're to rough for chinchillas. But not all kids are like that ofc. Just hoping you know that because some chinchilla-owners would get angry if they saw this... And also about that you only got one. It is actually a law about having two, but I don't see a problem having one if they got a lot time spending on them and also a partner to play with. I had one chinchilla for a long time until my ex's chinchilla died so the other one was alone and he couldn't stand him. But I spent much time with him and he could be out a whole day playing with our cats by chasing them and be chased.
Omg. Chinchillas hate being caught, they got stress because of that. You shouldn’t let it just run in your flat and try to chase for it. It’s also not allowed to give them nuts, because they are too fat. Another bad idea is to let it play with children and other animals.
Timmy's Mom Good, i was a bit scared for the chinchilla, they are very fragile, and the temperature must be around 20. more than 27 can cause their deaths. Big cage etc.
***** He isn't super cuddly, but he will cuddle from time to time. If he doesn't want to be caught it's almost impossible to catch him, but he'll usually hop over and jump into my lap when he's done playing.
I got two girl chinchillas, when i let them run freely, they tend to come to me but never lets me capture them unless they realize they are trapped xP One of them is less active than the other, running less and only runs around freely with her sister, hides under my sofa if she runs alone. My chinchillas rarely cuddles though, they just tend to escape me and explore around, when done exploring they either find a place to sleep, or just runns around biting stuff with edges. Did i mention that they poop alot? xP Only if they are stressed ^, which they uneccecerely are with me as ive had them for 3 years now... i dont understand it sometimes.
Chinchillas are very anti-social you're in luck if you get a baby chinchilla to treat it like your child, then you would get a strong bond there. Also yes, chinchillas are incredibly fast and hard to catch the older they get.
Foxy Lady Anti-Social?! My chinchillas come to me all the timd if i let them run around or just poke my head into their cage, they climb on me or just sniffs me. I dont see them as anti-social at all. Got 2 girls ~ they are hanging with eachother all the time, on my shoulders both go on ONE side, even as they almost fall off, always sleeps together, run together ect...
I tried to catch my chinchilla the other day and she got under my bed and I was trying to catch her for like an hour. So the answer is yes, they are very hard to catch.
Ever since I got my chinchilla she hated me and bit me a lot when I was getting food In her bowl, most of the times just hiding in her bath, once a day I open her cage sometimes and she does go behind my closet and pee...
Abigail Calvi I never asked how old u where? And I still disagree with the fact a toddler chasing an animal it is cruel there are loads of different ways to make a toddler tired out what don’t involve scaring animals! It is cruel the chinchilla is probably so scared just don’t do it’s cruel end of
Abigail Calvi maybe you should think about responsabilities first? Having a pet is a large responsability and if you are ok with a toddler scaring the hell out of a chinchilla, maybe you are not responsible enough to own a pet. Also as for the sleeping, maybe you should grow up, act like a parent should and take care of your child?
Abigail Calvi you do realize this is a social platform? Meaning EVERYONE is literally allowed to comment here? If you didn’t want those comments you maybe shouldn’t have promoted animal cruelty in the first place.
I just got my first chinchilla yesterday and i already love her so much frfr.. I advise anyone who wants one and has done the proper research.. Get one.
I had kept many chinchillas in the past. They are far more intelligent than bunnies. They are caring for their kits and gentle with the kits of others too.
I was a prior vet assistant and i really hope u change some of your habits caz ive seen many cases of chinchillas suffering. One if u gonna let it free run let it run only on carpeted areas please please please they will hv buble feet or else when it gets older and if it gets worst ulcerations will start happening on the feet. While padding in the cage is very important caz iv seen the cage with the metal screen layering. Second plz do not trust it being on your head these animals literally WILL jump down suddenly many hv broken legs because of so. Im just really hoping you change the minor changes to prevent possible injuries.

Its a wild Minccino!! QUICK,THROW A POKEBALL!!

I loved this, other than the screaming toddler, poor chin ears :(

The chin is cute, but the video should be renamed to «Things you should never do to your chinchilla»
***** Yes, but giving him a dust bath is important, too. :3 Some reason they don't like water baths, or it's just not their nature. Not too sure, but they take dust baths, *or supposed to* at least once a week.
DeadFuryGamingVLOGS water bathes can kill them

Chinchillas are awesome! I've never had one but every time a friend has had one as pet, they are definitely soooo satisfying to observe/pet!
Aww he knows he cant get to close to the chinchilla so he backed away when it came near him. Very well behaved little person.
I watched this video a year ago and I got a lil chin of my own a week after and she's a blessing in my life. Thank you for making this video because it's what really convinced me to get one 💓

Everyone's chinchillas are nice and friendly and funny. Mine just shits everywhere and bites furniture.
+MrBratkenSolov Lmao that sucks XD do you have chewing blocks for him/her?
I have. And she even uses it, but prefers wood. I remember i gave her mini plunger stand from my mobile phone. That was one happiest chinchilla i've ever seen :D
I let mine roam in my kitchen, but he has to taste everything! My cupboards have little bite marks on he doors.
Mine goes through chew toys like there’s no tomorrow 😂
Forbidden wood is tasty wood. 😁
I dont think its good for your chinchilla when you chase them. And i dont think its good either when your toddler chases them and screams. Poor little guy :(
solveigjasmin :(
It's their pet, they can do whatever they want
Luciela Yazawa No, you dumbass. Just because it's his pet, he can't do whatever he wants with it. I can't say: "I'm not gonna feed my dog. Why? 'Cause he's my pet and I can do whatever I want to do." Chins have sensitive hearings and when you use them to exhaust your child and let your toddler scream around your house, then that's not right. Also, it's not good to let them eat a lot of nuts, their fatty and not good, if you give them too much. If you wanna have a pet, do what is the best for it.
ydobon somebody always find some bs to cry about . Go adopt him then .
Rose Reese Wow. I'm fucking impressed. Great job. That's not bullshit, if you're not able to treat them right, then don't get yourself one.
Never let kids around chinchillas. Chinchillas are afraid of the noisy and fast moving "giants" and the child may get bitten.
2:28 chinchilla: can I ride it? Let's see...
Nope
I agree 100%!
Excellent reply, thanks!
Be VERY careful with a toddler around your chinchilla, as they are very sensitive and can get hurt easily.
Also, I wouldn't suggest giving your chinchilla so many treats for no reason, probably best to treat it after its ran around in your room.
MegaWhiteLord it only got one treat..?
zoo holic are you in every thread 😂 what are you the ChinGod ?
I hated the stupid toddler part, I'd break his lil bones if he even dared scaring my chinchilla this way.

Haha this video was brilliant. So many feels.. XD how long do these fuzz balls live on average.
~15 years
a healthy chin should live up to 20 years

Around 14 years.
They can live from 5 to even 20 years, it all depends on how well you take care of it.

But I spent much time with him and he could be out a whole day playing with our cats by chasing them and be chased.
him: Things to do with your chinchilla-
me: I like it already dude!
I just found this again and NOSTALGIA
Omg. Chinchillas hate being caught, they got stress because of that. You shouldn’t let it just run in your flat and try to chase for it. It’s also not allowed to give them nuts, because they are too fat. Another bad idea is to let it play with children and other animals.
oh i see, so they are made out of fluff
Yes.
My sis is getting on soon and im not looking forward to it :'(
Please, how old is she ? shee need to do alot of research before getting one
Geometry Dash Tartino shes 16, she gonna be 17 in few days. Sept 2
Timmy's Mom Great, did she did alot of research ? and for how many time ?
Geometry Dash Tartino yea, our parents agreed to keep a pet like that. But its her responsibility to take care of it and its actions.
Timmy's Mom Good, i was a bit scared for the chinchilla, they are very fragile, and the temperature must be around 20. more than 27 can cause their deaths. Big cage etc.
Can chinchillas be cuddly, or is that not common? Also, is it really hard to catch then and pick then up if necessary or was that just for the video?
***** He isn't super cuddly, but he will cuddle from time to time. If he doesn't want to be caught it's almost impossible to catch him, but he'll usually hop over and jump into my lap when he's done playing.
I got two girl chinchillas, when i let them run freely, they tend to come to me but never lets me capture them unless they realize they are trapped xP
One of them is less active than the other, running less and only runs around freely with her sister, hides under my sofa if she runs alone.
My chinchillas rarely cuddles though, they just tend to escape me and explore around, when done exploring they either find a place to sleep, or just runns around biting stuff with edges.
Did i mention that they poop alot? xP
Only if they are stressed ^, which they uneccecerely are with me as ive had them for 3 years now... i dont understand it sometimes.
Chinchillas are very anti-social you're in luck if you get a baby chinchilla to treat it like your child, then you would get a strong bond there. Also yes, chinchillas are incredibly fast and hard to catch the older they get.
Foxy Lady
Anti-Social?!
Many animals (that aren't dangerous and probably wanna eat the chinchilla) should bond with that fluffball of cuteness
I'm getting a chinchilla tomorrow and I'm SO excited!!:)
Isabellasmall how'd it go
Good luck with your chin!
Me to I have mine right now
Seriously is there anything more terrifying than a screaming toddler? Yikes.
This is cruel a toddler screaming chasing that’s poor chinchilla and the dust Bath was to small for him/her
Abigail Calvi I never asked how old u where? And I still disagree with the fact a toddler chasing an animal it is cruel there are loads of different ways to make a toddler tired out what don’t involve scaring animals! It is cruel the chinchilla is probably so scared just don’t do it’s cruel end of
Abigail Calvi maybe you should think about responsabilities first? Having a pet is a large responsability and if you are ok with a toddler scaring the hell out of a chinchilla, maybe you are not responsible enough to own a pet. Also as for the sleeping, maybe you should grow up, act like a parent should and take care of your child?
Tektr0_ Plays this is very true, like when he said he uses the chinchilla to get energy out of his toddler like...... that’s so cruel
Abigail Calvi mhmh which is why you deleted your comment eh? Scared of confrontation are we?
Abigail Calvi you do realize this is a social platform? Meaning EVERYONE is literally allowed to comment here? If you didn’t want those comments you maybe shouldn’t have promoted animal cruelty in the first place.
Why does no one else want to mention how the chinchilla was so cute when it tried to get in the dust bath
