@Music Is Win, are you offering any scholarships to participate in the school for people who can’t afford to buy a ticket? I want access so badly. I am homebound/ill/disabled, as well as female. Guitar is my entire world aside from my service dog and being sick. I’d love to up my game. I enjoy it, but I’m inspired to go from guitarist to musician for my audience: my service dog LOVES to listen to me play in the past 1.5 years. He relaxes near my feet on my bed to take a nice long, well-earned break from helping me. He ALWAYS lets me know when I’ve hit a sour note by perking his ears up, or let’s me know when he doesn’t like the song choice by giving me a look like a ruined his music mojo, lol. I even taught him to strum my guitar on command. So he may be my audience of one with four paws, but he’s the best audience ever. I strive to improve my guitar skills for the both of us because it gives us both some enjoyment and a break from everything we endure together. Music surely heals. Wish I could pay for a ticket, but I literally have no income and little help. I painfully play a guitar that isn’t suitable for my disabilities because it’s all I’ve got. That’s how motivated I am and how much I’d love to be able to partake in this school. DM @MashaT22 on Twitter or Instagram if you can spare a ticket.
I smiled when Paul said that there’s a difference between being a guitarist and being a musician. I’ve been saying that for years when it comes to drums.. There’s a difference between being able to play a 4 on the floor and actually being able to play to the music.
Yeah... a big difference. Being an instrumental technician and being a musician are really different...I would argue that there's plenty of room for both.
Zach Delia - This drummer of 40 years agrees completely. Playing a groove technically correct with no feel is still not a groove. A musician makes the unit gel....a drummer is just playing a beat.
I own 2 US made PRS guitars. An NF3 and a CE22. I love them and sold my Tele, Les Paul and Strat. No regrets. I love them both. If I could only own one, I'd keep the NF3. Great work. I get tremendous joy playing them. Thanks.
PRS sure can use one… They are still the somewhat scorned underdog, despite how amazing are the 245 single cut and the JM silver sky, many other Innovations… Great high quality company.
I’m so grateful for this channel. I’m a music is win student and I’ve signed up for my first prs live music school. Very excited for next week! Thank Tyler
got to be one of these most packed to brim souls of not just wisdom beyond belief but having the ability to say it wisely. and he's doesn't fake it for a second, he's 100 percent genuine. and genuinely good hearted. what a beautiful combination.
Agree 100% with what Paul said about the tuner and not wanting it in his signal chain. The more pedals you add, the more the signal and tone are compromised, and the more noise that is introduced. I love pedals, but for me, I've learned that less is more.
Sayin something is stupid sexy or dumb funny and shit like that is Definitely a Baltimore/MD thing lol 😂 I wouldn’t have expected Paul to say some like that tho lol I met Paul when he came to my high school back in 2005 and I played his personal guitar on stage, it was awesome. Forever changed me, and I can’t wait to own one of his axes one day
Wahoo! I don’t HAVE a PRS guitar. I saw Paul many times at NAMM, said hello a few times. I didn’t play electric at the time, so I was just excited by how beautiful his guitars are. Now I play electric and would LOVE a PRS. I also befriended Greg Grainger, so, this is going to be FUN! Thanks Tyler!!
After hearing Paul talk about his guitars, it made me want to play one. So I played one. It spoke for itself. They may be expensive, but they are worth every penny.
your channel is great and then you add PRS (Paul) to an episode,i love listening to Paul talk even if I just purchased my first Gibson Les Paul I will get a PRS in the next 6 months just not sure what one I have to do my homework first.
I'd say, find as many shops as possible that you can visit that stock a PRS, then go and try as many as possible, and see if one jumps out and sings to you. Every single guitar is unique in its own way, even every guitar made of a single model is different. So just keep trying them until you find one you're meant to be with.
Paul being the POSITIVE Archetype of the Joker make so much sense he is always entertaining in his interview, not afraid to says what he thinks is right and put a big smile on my face the first time i played what to become my Custom 08-24 edit: Iam going to name my guitar Harley Queen because she is the Queen of my Guitars
Man. This is pure gold. I would love to share this to Spanish speaking friends. If you want help translating please do let me know, I would love to help you out with the subtitles.
Paul is right about the date thing, I was recording parts for a local hip hop artist and the producer was like “ we can go down to the university and pick up girls because you play guitar” the disgust from my very soul was tangible.
So, he's the guy trying whatever is electrically possible, to make a bass speaker act and sound just like an accoustic big bass drum, pushing it to the edge of rocketing out of the cabinet. Yep, the world needs guys like him. ...and side note; I TOTALLY AGREE, and electric guitar that has what I call 'resonance' naturally, unplugged, brings a whole other level of life to the amplified sound. No electronic gadgetry can get the full depth of that natural living sound. A guitar body and neck unison without that quality of resonance just sounds 'dead' to me. So, thumbs up Sir.
Think Charles Caswell would be someone great to get on the show because he’s an insanely innovative player and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him in any interviews or podcasts of any sort
I idolize Paul and his company but I find myself in a difficult situation. The 1923 Gibson mentioned fooled the Smithsonian a few years back. It was made in 1923 but the pickup drawer was added in the mid 30's. Somebody please relay this to Paul. I feel like he would want to know.
Heath ledger’s joker was the best, Joaquin phoenix was also incredible but he did not blend the deep humanity and pathos of the character with enough wickedly demented humor. That belongs to Heath ledger uniquely. Jack Nicholson was just himself basically…
Hey Paul, why no love for bass players? You have a great core model bass that regular guys can't afford, and the SE line has 2 models...only 4 string versions, and each one comes in just ONE color!!??!!
No one plays guitar because of girls- they simply think that's why they started playing. I did to- for a very long time if anyone asked me, I told them the honest truth- "I did it because the girls thought the guitar players were the coolest guys in the band." But- eventually I really started thinking about what I heard that inspired me to play- and when I remembered I realized something- I was far too young to be thinking about girls or what they liked at that point. I grew up listening to music and loving it long before I ever thought of a girl or sex- I was in love with music before I started kindergarten. I remember hearing Randy Rhodes play when I was like 5 years old- and it was then that I decided I wanted to do that. Why? Because when he played at times I felt like my heart would burst from excitement, and other times I cried and I didn't understand why. And it wasn't just guitar- I fell in love with music- period. My favorite part was the guitar parts but- I loved piano as well- both instruments could move me to tears or excite me to the point, I literally got goose bumps. When's the last time you got goose bumps listening to a piece of music? It's been a while for me- I miss it. Life has a way of leading you off down paths you never intended.... - and now I'm starting to ramble- alrighty then. Anyway- my point is that if you'll really think about it- I would imagine many of the guys out there who think they started to get the girl actually started for other reasons- it just turned into that eventually- once puberty hit.
One of my first jobs was at Subway and someone came in on behalf of The Allman Brothers came in to get sandwiches for them. I was begging him to have them come in but he wouldn’t do it.

anyone notice how paul's guitar matches his shirt perfectly?
What guitar? I only see pickups…
He probably can afford to have a custom guitar made to go with every shirt he owns lol
You know who else likes to match their guitar with their shirt?
Paul Gilbert
@@williambader8245 something about those Pauls, huh

Also, the job of a musician is to make others sound good.

Paul's love and passion for the music and the instrument is amazing and contagious, I'd love to work with him one day. What a legend.
At this point his channel is becoming a PRS fan page and I like it

Buying your guitar supersystem soon! I’ve been watching you for a while and love your content. Keep up the good work!
18:30 you're welcome
While I'm not that much of a fan of PRS guitars, I love PRS himself. It was so cool when he called out Tyler on his opinion on villains

_Paul:_
‘Stupid’ should mean figuratively GOOD
_Also Paul:_
Villains should be seen as literally BAD.
@@EarthSouthside - I like to use stupid as a combined adjective, for example stupid hot, stupid amazing, it’s a vernacular that is very expressive.
Really like how Paul's shirt matches his guitar. I now gotta go see if anyone makes a green quilted maple colored shirt...
wow I love the way paul talks. his vocabulary and figurative language is interesting.
I did it - signed up for the PRS Music School!
