      Hi Lucian Funk - thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Congratulations on getting your KVX!
      I've since also discovered that Evans sell an "EQ Single Pedal Patch" which other TD17 KVX owners have used on their kick pads to protect it. Some have then, with the Evans patch applied, used the felt side of their beater which is slightly quieter.
      Hope this helps. Happy drumming!

    I tried the 17-KVX today at a music store and the playability and sound really kicked ass compared to my present Alesis Crimson Mesh that I hope to get rid of soon, even if Alesis makes visually nice drum-sets, there has not been one upgrade for 2 years and they dont play nor sounds that great. OK- the new 17 KVX is a bit more expensive, but from my point of view, its definatly worth the price difference.

    • @davidmearsuk
      @davidmearsuk  5 лет назад +2

      I agree! Also, for me, the triggering reliability of the Roland compared to other mesh head kits I tried, including more expensive ones, was outstanding. Apparently, Roland focused on minimal latency which they've achieved superbly.

      Hi Mike, you're very welcome - thank you for watching and your kind words. I chose a Mapex throne for comfort combined with being reasonably priced (compared to roc-n-soc for example). I can happily sit comfortably through a three hour gig using a saddle type throne vs a circular shape.
      I chose a Mapex pedal on this occasion, but always based on resposiveness and how it feels for me. I'd never buy a kick pedal without trying it first.
      Hope this helps :)

    I've been learning on an acoustic kit but yesterday I ordered a td-17kvx2. I might upgrade the floor tom to a pdx-12 and tom 2 to the pdx-100. To me it'll make it look better. Plus, as I beginner the more area to "attempt" to hit the better :)
