This apartment looks like a gorgeous house that should be featured on AD digest. Definitely Apartment Therapy worthy as well! The landlord got a steal too and I’m sure could raise the rent after you leave. So talented Drew !!

Hmmm.. I’m not so sure… while Drew has a great eye for interior design, most of the things he designed or decorated will be going with him when he leaves.., he did very little permanent changes… my favorite room is Marie’s bedroom… but as he said the wall treatment (peel and stick trim) can be pulled off and taken with him.. I like the navy built in shelves in the dining room… but I dislike the lemon wallpaper… it can be easily pulled off…. The overall space is pretty and I like it… but Drew has not added value or increased the house value… most of what he did to the structure itself was paint…. Most landlords are fine with you painting as long as you repaint before you move out… I’m sure the landlord is pleased that Drew removed all of those attached mirrored walls… so yes, even with all of the furniture gone, the space will still look nice….
The board and batten is so nice, and that I’m guessing will stay. Maybe the dining room “hutch” nook will stay too. But honestly that apartment is lovely, with the arches and all the beautiful windows. I’m definitely putting a curtain over my rather ugly shower.

Really good point. I always find myself punting on doing things how I really want because it's not the perfect time or the situation seems temporary. Good reminder to live more in the present.
Why is apartment consider a temporary? Yes it's dented but it's not necessary to own your home.

Most landlords would never allow someone to make so many changes to a place. Especially removing all the mirrors and painting woodwork or cabinets.
Whenever you decide to move or even just change up a room, I’d love to see how you deconstruct the entire thing! I’m always curious how renter-friendly the DIYs and other alterations actually are and how difficult they’ll be to uninstall.

New here. Very impressive how you made a very dated older rental unit look so modern and fresh. My fav spaces are what you called the horror movie and the organized chaos room (only because I have one too). Your entire home is lovely and I can see it being cozy, relaxing and inviting for all who spend time there with y’all. Great job!
My aunt and uncle had a 1920's home on the east coast. There was a small room adjacent to the dining room. It was a sun room. The sunroom gave privacy and extra space for people to visit, since the layout was similar to yours (a living room adjacent to a dining room). They turned it into their "TV Room". The room had a couch, a chair, and a TV, and I recall spending many evenings in that room watching "The Jeffersons" back in 1975! The sunroom was also next to a huge wrap around porch. Our neighbor's house across the street also had one. It was a newer and bigger home, though, and the sun room was next to the living room. They turned it into a sitting/TV room.
Let's be honest here: Did any of your landlords/ladies want you to turn the apartments back to the way they originally were? I mean your makeovers could literally be used as a reason to rise the rent 🤣

Absolutely LOVED seeing the full tour! The flow of your entire space just gives me chills! SO GOOD. I also appreciate the authenticity of the "messy" areas like the hallway closet with drawers (that only open all the way with the door open lol) and the anthropologie fox cabinet chillin in the doorway- like we all have been there!
The entire apartment has turned out so well, and it's so light and airy. And it has a cohesive feel to it, which is quite tough to achieve imo. You make it seem effortless.

The cheap flimsy peel and stick vinyl tiles over the ceramic tile floor in the bathroom should go (they will be easy to take off) . . . but all the paint choices and moldings are great!
Yes, maybe his landlord may be okay with some of the changes staying but they are all removable for a reason- prospective tenants may want a blank slate of their own 🤷♀️

Older homes in the south have sleeping porches. People slept outside because there was no air conditioning. It may have been screened in at some point.
Our former home in Connecticut have one like this. Folks called it “Sunroom”.

Now I will say, I normally won’t watch an apartment or house tour of a man because I usually don’t think it would be of interest, but you captured me at intro. I typically don't like a lot of white walls in a home but your house still feels very warm, personable and inviting. I love that your landlord worked with you as far as getting the mirrors down and the popcorn ceilings. I think the dining room and the bathroom is my fav but it all looks great!
I love the fact that you rent and your landlord lets you do all of these things to it! It looks awesome!
As far as I can tell, the changes are all temporary. Paint, stick on wallpaper, door removed…all of these things can be restored to their original state. Why anyone would want to change them back is beyond me, but to each his own. Since the landlord removed the popcorn ceilings and the mirrors in Marie’s bedroom, he is most likely ok with making changes.
This is EVERYTHING! SO IMPRESSED WITH THE SKILLS! This reminds of my first apartment but it was never looked this gorgeous! I love it! That lime washed room will forever be my favorite! 💙

In your bathroom: I think it could be really really nice to install the “floor tile” into the little nook where you have your shampoo and shower gel! It can tie up a lot the space and could round up the shower even more in connection to the room(as now there are no hexagon tiles anywhere in the room?) love everything here! ♥️ keep the good job @lonefox!!!
OMG I WAS PLANNING TOO! I was sooo excited to do that and then we accidentally tossed the leftover tiles by accident 😭 I ordered a new pack and will do some stories on Instagram! 💕

I love your style. Not to minimal or to maximal just right. It feels so soothing and nurturing. I love how you painted the inside of the arch between the kitchen and the dining room to match the dining room window trim it really draws the eye. the echoing of the arches in the decor is so clever and brings so much character. I think the only thing I would tweek would be the arch in your bedroom. I think would paint the trim it the same green as your board and batton. this video inspired me to subscribe.
