In this Gear Lab, Tyde took the Red Wing Heritage Shop Moc Oxford for a test drive on his feet, and broke down why these are a must-have wardrobe staple in any guys closet. Paying homage to the beloved Classic Moc family, the Shop Moc Oxford provides low-profile style for year-round wear with enduring craft. They sport the classic lace tie-ups with a leather upper and rubber outsole but add a new spin with its low-top form factor. Goodyear-welted (in lieu of the traditional hand-welted method), means these Oxfords can be resoled as many times as you want. Wear them in and put them to good use-that’s what they're built for.

Calling the faults in the leather pre-developed patina is some next level bullshido
*Yea I thought the same thing. Those are definitely scuffs!*
Bro, how do they cost almost as much as the 875? I was hoping for atleast a $50-$75 price difference. Im a big red wing fan, but I may have to wait on these.
They're pretty much 90% an 875 in terms of materials and labor. So it's not THAT bad
In the Netherlands they cost like €329,95 which is $359. So a normal Red Wing 6'' is like $391+. It's understandable, they have to include import costs I guess from the States.
Just ordered the black oxfords. Cant wait to get them!
I bought a pair of these and they have worked out well. I work on concrete all day, I do a lot of kneeling and found a boot that’s either too heavy gets old quickly. I also simply don’t need a ton of ankle support, sometimes less is more. So far so good, a few weeks in.
Nice! Love to hear it you are liking them so far.
I'm gonna call them the "Moxfords".
Please don't tell me about Global Partners. I am not a Globalist.
why they call it an oxford? it is derby laced
Good spot! Technically, this does have a derby construction. That being said, the Derby was an evolution of the Oxford, in favor of a more comfortable "open" lacing system. Sometimes these terms are used interchangeably, and I think they've taken some liberties with classifying this style.
@It3880 it is an error in american work boot history that boot companies misnamed their derbies “oxfords” despite their open lacing systems-it is now an ironic historical tradition, in keeping with the irony of making heritage work boots for hipsters to wear at boutique coffee shops
You know I've always wondered about this cause I've heard the open lacing system also called a derby lacing system. I just want a pair so I don't always have my ankles wrapped up when I don't need em wrapped up. Still hoping to beat 'em up and get em nice and lived in.
What about sizing? Should I use boot or shoe size.
These run a bit large so we recommend going down a half-size
Would a full size down be too much in your opinion?
@@anthonynguyen6057yes go half down from brannock only
@@anthonynguyen6057 I don’t have wide feet so I normally go down a full size with my Red Wings and they fit perfectly.
@@M4GEO thank you for your help!!!
Ive always wanted to splurge on a pair of red’s. But given that I don’t do heavy labor. I could never justify the cost. I’d be down to buy these in a heart beat.
There's loads of them lightly used (or even new) on eBay. That's how I got into a pair of now discontinued Merchants and love them.
@@df540148exactly, these are not new. Red Wing discontinued the design and are making it huckberry exclusive. Lots of them on eBay and grailed.
Bro I wear white's and JK's to work at Walmart, you're good lol. As long as you wear them and put time in them, that's what counts.
Half a boot but not half price.
It’s priced just about where it should be priced.
