I am the jesus of days gone speedrunning. Just kidding. Yeah, 100% runs are a torment for the first times as you do not know that well, what you need. Hopefully we will get it all sorted out next time someone tries 100% again. Maybe we can even get some practice saves created for the future to figure out optimal ways to do everything. Obviously the game is chaos though, so you cannot plan for everything.
I wonder how this would go with the discovered way of getting to crater lake early to get a better bike and gas tank, also weapons. I’m not sure if it’s allowed or even practical, but would be fun to see.
There's a bunch of ways to get to the end game section, but sadly gonna burst your bubble, it's hardly worth it(for now). Maybe in the future we will have a route that gives the idea some justice. Currently the time difference between Easy New Game vs Easy New Game + runs is 45 minutes. Yes, while doing 100% we could have some more time saved from the big guns, but also time lost getting to the last region.

Because it's a different category, thus a different record. If we are talking completely what's the fastest way to beat days gone, that is New Game + currently(being the only record I do not have). While any% covers any number of missions and any number of side content to be done, but only thing that matters is starting a new game and getting to the game end credits. 100% has so many extra rules and requirements - Achievements to be unlocked, all of the collectibles and the extra missions to be done.
