I was already happy to see adam neely and brian krock, upload within 3 minutes of eachother, then I realized Brian Krock is in the Adam Neely video, even better
at this point I feel like "people trying to sound happy in phrygian" is a separate mood, distinct from "happy music" or "sad music", and your piece is the best example of that. this is just beautiful, really wish it was longer - and the applause ending is witty as hell hahaha
Thanks! I might end up making a longer version of this... obviously, for the video thing we had to keep it short. I found writing a 90-second piece of music EXTREMELY challenging... I tend to write epic/potentially overly long songs.
0:16 nice key signature u got there
Some of the most brilliant video editing I've ever seen. Oh and yeah that clap ostinato degenerating into a self-conscious semi-applause... swoon
Thank you!
Just watching Adam's video on nebula and had to pause to come over here and comment how much I enjoyed this track. It felt reminiscent of early Do Make Say Think to me, who are one of my all time favourites.
Thanks, Mike. I gotta check them out!
You did a great job.
Thanks, Garrett!
Apart from the great music, we need more of these spinning saxophone-Brians!
The 4 bodies with 1 shared head brian at 1:06 was my favourite
My god, it's beautiful, really moving... I love the sound of saxophones, it's so nostalgic...
The layered playback of the winds reminds me of the trumpet and trombone piece SARO
The westerlies are some of my good pals/neighbors :)
Motivational music. Love it.
Love this! Definitely need a longer version of this.
Please please please please please upload this to Spotify! Please! It's so good!
Dexi! I really appreciate the sentiment, but I don't think I'm going to upload this to Spotify. At least, not right now! I mixed it myself, and I think it deserves a professional mix-job.
@@BrianKrock I wouldn't let perfect stay in the way of done, or... fan. You can always upload a new version, but we really love what this is for what it is. Your call! Great track, you're really talented! Best wishes.
Oh, and thanks for the reply, it was unexpected and nice :D
Nice
This track is soooooo dope. I can't stop rocking it! Can we get charts? This theme could really be an awesome song! Will there be an expansion on this theme? Too cool. The guitar's minimal volume really boosted the thickness of the woodwinds. Masterful piece dude.🎧💕🎶☠💯🎭
Aw, thanks! I definitely will start performing this live with my band. I didn’t make a chart for this one, yet, so… it’s just a bunch of sloppy sketches that you really don’t wanna see!
This gives me maudlin of the Well/Kayo Dot vibes :D
Okay, awesome, those are two references that I do not get but I will check them out. Thanks!
@@BrianKrock you're probably in for a treat then, they're both basically the same band in two different eras lead by Toby Driver. Maudlin of the Well was more progressive metal with new age vibes and when they ceased to exist, Kayo Dot was born and went even further into the extreme avantgarde metal category with a focus on through-composed music. motW's "Bath" or Kayo Dot's "Choirs of the Eye" are the ones people tend to glom onto. The first song I ever heard was "Pitcher of Summer" and while I didn't like the rest of the album right away, it grew on me a lot and became one of my favorite albums ever.
Thank you! I’m going to check this stuff out!
Yes! Happy to see someone talking about Toby Driver. His music is so unique. I particularly love his drum parts. They manage to fill the role of drums, but in a very non-drummer way. I really like the track "Smoke-Scented Mycelium" as a starting point.
Whoa, I had to stop by here to thank you both- I can't remember the last time I was so excited about a new (to me) artist. Toby Driver reminds me a lot of Mark Hollis/Talk Talk, as well as some definite similarities to the things I like about Steven Wilson. I see what you mean, @Bebopopotamus about the drum parts being non-drummer-esque. And, I definitely hear the resonances with the way I come up with drum parts! Can't wait to check out more of his discography.
awesome! i hope you like miho hazama; this makes me wanna listen to her winds.
Haha wow, Miho is one of my close friends (and biggest inspirations)!
heh, she's the conductor in more than one of the ensemble videos on this channel ;)
this gave me some kayo dot vibes
this was great
Faye is out of my league 🥰
does the beginning sounds like Kid A (the song) or is it just me? then it becomes a Destroyer track...
Are you inspired by Floex/Tomas Dvorak? Because this song reminds me a lot of him.
What music of his should I listen to? I just checked out a bit of a video game soundtrack he did and now my interest is piqued
@@BrianKrock The soundtracks for "Samorost 3" and "Machinarium" are his best works imo.
clapp
i got baited XD
Sounds like prog post punk London music
is this happy? i don't know
Yea, I don’t either... kinda impossible prompt. You should check out Adam’s vid if you haven’t!
