Yes it is phrygian dominant. It's very common in metal to hear people call it just phrygian. Personally I prefer to say phrygian dominant to avoid any confusion.

mcquinn01 Phrygian Dominant is not the Phrygian mode, which is the third mode of the diatonic scale. Phrygian dominant is a mode from the harmonic minor scale, if I recall.

Sounds awesome man, I love the phrygian style :) Is this straight on phrygian mode or more in the likes of a phrygian dominant scale? Sounds like dominant to me. Great playing, too. You're technique really is amazing.

Same here......phrygian, minor, harmonic minor, ....they all have the tension required to send a chill down your spine, make you wonder where that sound came from, and then make you realise you need to play the guitar. It was around age 11 for me.
