@Southeastern777 You are absolutely right. Unfortunately, everyone was swindled out of the truth of his assassination. We were swindled by the controlled press, that fell silent in spite of overwhelming evidence of a conspiracy. We were swindled by future politicians who kept the truth swept under the rug, we were swindled and continue to be swindled into believing that war is normal, acceptable and necessary, and we were swindled into believing that questioning the official version of anything the government says was a bad thing. Anyone who did became a "conspiracy theorist" (read paranoid nut). Paradoxically, the term conspiracy theory was invented by the CIA, in the 60's to discredit very valid questions that were being raised about JFK's assassination. History has shown their involvement in the actual event, whether rogue elements or sanctioned participants is an accepted fact.

It leaves me in absolute despair that nearly half of my fellow countrymen have enabled such buffoonery to occupy the seat of revered and exceptional men. Men whose eloquence and vision inspired and commanded generations of fallible persons to strive to better themselves, their neighbors, and their world. To whom do we look to now to choose to go to the moon or recapture the better angels of our nature? I wonder how we will come to define ourselves throughout this century...the leaders we have thus far chosen and will continue to choose shall reflect that.

I don't think more profound words were ever spoken by an American president since the Gettysburg Address.

Despite his desire to forge PEACE with the Soviets and in the world generally, JFK went to Western Europe in Mid-June of 1963, and on June 26, 1963 he spoke to 300,000 in Berlin where he drew the sharp distinction between the Free World and the Communists --- His "Let Them Come to Berlin" speech is one of the most moving ever delivered abroad by a US President

Spoken by a man who’d experienced the horrors of war.

Exactly! He wanted no further wars, least of all a nuclear disaster, spreading destructive radiation that would stay in the soil for decades! Was in the process of pulling out the first 1,000 military advisors of the 16,000 there from S. Vietnam (by Dec. 31, '63), from his NSAM #263 (Oct. 11), but was reversed on Tue. Nov. 26, the day after his funeral from his corrupt, war-crazed #36 issuing his NSAM #273. There were NO combat units in S. Vietnam until Mar. 8, 1965, landing ashore near Da Nang. The combat troops and air war over N. Vietnam were all done by #36 and then continued for another 4 gruesome years by #37. Not by Kennedy, as others want to blame him for the combat units when he only added the advisors! So, don't believe those liars or ignoramuses in blaming Kennedy for the 58,298 U S. military deaths, and the 2 million Vietnamese deaths!

Interesting fun fact: JFK's assassination briefly disrupted the schedule of the first ever TV broadcast of an episode of Doctor Who.
Twenty-five years later, clips from this incredible JFK speech were used to make one of the greatest cold opens in the Doctor Who's history, for the opening of Remembrance of the Daleks: Part One. Clips of optimistic speeches from JFK and Martin Luther King play as the tiny blue marble that is planet Earth comes into view, only for the ominous shadow of the Dalek mothership to slowly loom over the planet as the words of hope fade away into static...

and ..... on the night that JFK was assassinated (Nov. 22, 1963) the CBS evening news was prepared to do a segment on BEATLEMANIA, with an introduction of the Fab Four to America --- and of course, that was put aside., accordingly

Remarkably his words about peace with the Soviet Union can be applied to our collective need to stop the climate from changing.
"We all inhabit this small planet, we all breath the same air, and we are all mortal."
