The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.
#graves #cemeteries #death
Thanks!i love your going to Arizona..I love itthere
thank you!! Arizona here I come, starting next winter!!!! Nevada, New Mexico, California, lost of stories to come.
Thanks
Thank you for the contribution. I appreciate it.
Hey Ron, take extra Vitamin C while out there walking in that cold and dampness! We don’t want you getting sick! Thank you for bringing this video to us while freezing you butt off!!! 😳 We love and appreciate your time. Stay safe!!! 😊
Came in late from my garden, enjoying 76F degrees but they warned us cold weather is coming: yes of course cause Ron will come by San Antonio bringing Chicago's cold. Thanks for the walk, wind and a...propeller plane. John Bunyan Slaughter (Dec 15, 1848 - Nov 11, 1928) was an American rancher and banker. Born to a ranching family. Interesting Cemetery, Thanks for the amazing stories specially Maj. Carswell, a movie should be made about him. May they all RIP.
Yeah, sad to say it’s coming with me. Welcome to Texas. Lol.
Thanks for the info on the mausoleum.
Hope you have better weather tomorrow
I've been to his stone a few times, he owned the still standing White Elephant Saloon in the historic Ft. Worth Stockyards where his pic is still above the mantel of the original bar where I've been many times. Thank you so much for doing this story!!!!!!
Hello from Fife Scotland 🏴
Make it to Lubbock Texas !!!!!! Lots of history. Stay stay. Safe god bless u
Very cold! Congratulations again for your video. Salute from Tampa, Florida.
Carswell AFB in Fort Worth was renamed the Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth many years ago. We long-timers from Fort Worth/Tarrant County still tend to call it Carswell. Lockheed is a huge employer near there.
46 here in the beautiful Appalachian mountains of Western Maryland! 🤗🌲🌄🌲🐈⬛🐈🐈
One of my favorite sounds is a train whistle blowing.
Thanks!
Thank you Diane Coker
hey thank you Diane!!!!!
Your shows are awesome because they are unique. You are the voice of the forgotten ones ❤️.
WOW, so great to see you in Cowtown, we live about 27 miles south of there, but my husband and I were both born in Ft Worth, so we love seeing you there, not to mention my husband's name is Short. 😂 No relationship to Luke that we know of. I wish you could have explored Oakwood more, so many great stories there and have seen it when the weather was better. But glad you explored our wonderful part of Texas.
Hi from North Carolina! I got a 1 year old lab mix this weekend, so happy and excited! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I just love watching your videos, very informative, and I love the respect you show to the victims and their families. I used to think I was the only one that liked looking at old headstones and imagining their stories!
Oh I love it. I love it / 1 year-old mix-lab. Enjoy the puppy breath, still probably has it. Big paws.
Oh I love it. I love it / 1 year-old mix-lab. Enjoy the puppy breath, still probably has it. Big paws.
@@FacesoftheForgotten lol he still has a bit of the puppy breath, and he's so well behaved! He is a rescue, and I just fell in love with my Aspen on sight!
Enjoy your lab. Lost our black lab mix in 2018 to bone cancer. Rescued her when she was 3 months old & dumped at birth in Ohio winter after birth. She was the best dog. Great with the kids & grands.
@@mskat1954 thank you! I love my little guy, he's so well behaved and sweet! Right now he's at the vets hospital, he has Parvo, unfortunately. Great prognosis however, thank God! I'm sorry about your Lab, they really are wonderful dogs!
Are yiu thinking of the early Arizona pioneer John Slaughter? The Slaughter Ranch is located East of Douglas, Arizona. In the Tombstone movie, John Slaughter gave Doc Holliiday shelter during the time he and Wyatt Earp were battling the Cowboys.
I am in SE TX so we consider you in North TX and it is cold up that way.
LMAO! The expression on your face when the plane with the front propeller flew over head was priceless. I actually thought it was overhead here. Goodness. Great stories and a wonderful tour. Thank you!
Greetings from Las Vegas Nevada. I missed the livestream today!
I ALWAYS enjoy your videos, I do miss your beard, you looked very good with it.
Sorry i missed the livestream was battling depression and didnt look stay warm n safe Ron hugs❤❤❤
Hang in there, we got your back!
I loves the stories of people long ago especially the western days
Thank you for the story of Luke and Jim. You know I love old stories like this. I also love watching Western movies.
But this is a true story that you told. I love it thank you 😊. I always think about way in the past also. Sorry I missed your live stream. I was busy with my laundry and other things. But I don’t miss all your videos on RUclips.
Hello aunt, Theresa Lund glad to meet you. I love your stories of faith forgotten. God bless you keep up the good work you are a blessing in disguise for doing this for people.
Hello from South Texas near Corpus Christi
Thank you again Ron. I loved these stories. You need to put hand warmers in your gloves 😅 .
Hey Ron keep warm
Love every video that you put out! This was a great one! Thank you, Ron! Well done!
Fun fact: right after Short passed, his burial site had to be guarded for a time due to the fear of grave robbers as Short was known for his flashy gemstone pieces such as a sapphire set of cufflinks and matching ring. He was buried with his jewelry and after a couple of attempted robberies, they hired some men to keep guard.
Also, I ran a paranormal team here in Texas for many years. We went all over to the smaller unknown areas because like you, I like to hit up the unknown places and stories, so if you ever want to do anything paranormal related while in the DFW area, I'd love to speak to you. Safe travels Ron!!
cool thanks!
Had all 3 of my granddaughters this weekend ages 14, 2 yrs, 8 month. Grandme & Pa Pa had been kept busy, they just went home.
Hello, I'm Carol Marcy from Dubois Pa.
Thank you for all your fabulous ventures.
Hopefully iI will be catching some lives soon since I'm now addicted to your channel, Mr Ron! I live in a very rural area of Indiana County, Pennsylvania. We have some really old cemeteries and beautiful monuments and crypts around here. Love your videos. I can stay home and travel the country with you! Thanks for sharing!❤
Tune in tomorrow at 2 PM Central time, epic cemetery. My grand finale - leaving Chicago for good.
@@FacesoftheForgotten awesome! Thank you for the heads up!
Love your videos buddy very good stories
Oh my goodness those trees are so beautiful in this cemetery. Amazing backdrop behind you in the start too where the trees are so crookeldy. My word: crook-el-dy. 😃 They look like post oaks.
Such an interesting story about these two men. Thank you for the history on them. I had not ever heard about them.
Pretty statue at 37:23
So sweet and so sad 58:58
Oh that angel statue at 59:42 is amazing.
I pray the weather improves for you. You work so hard and I really hope that you get to enjoy some warmer, clearer weather. You need a break from the winter cold. You get plenty of that back in IL. Time for you to have some warmer weather while you are so far down south. 🙏💖🤗
Hello from Georgia
Hey hi Ron. Interesting cemetery, and even more interesting story. The weather is almost as cold there as up here in Lockport Illinois. Safe travels to you.
Crazy!!!!
Yes indeed...lol
I'd been away from your channel for a few months and now find that you were near me in Fort Worth last month. Sorry that you didn't catch one of our prettier weather days. I'd been hoping you'd do Oakland Cemetery as it has some of the earliest settlers from the area, but I can understand your feeling nervous about that area of town. At Oakwood, you stopped at the mausoleum for Burk Burnett around 38:00. He is the namesake for a town near Wichita Falls TX.
I was literally in this cemetery today looking at the grave of Killer Jim Miller when I happened upon this video. I watched it and went to the other graves that you visited. Great video!! New subscriber here!
Hey that’s great, it worked out pretty well. Glad you found us
Great live stream buddy..
I missed the live and the premiere last night had to watch the replay, husband has been traveling a lot and he was home just for two days and back out. Loved the Montgomery Ward premiere. I understand about going to cemeteries in a bad neighborhood. There is a really cool cemetery with so much history in it in downtown Jacksonville Florida but the neighborhood is scary.
Great video Ron..Thanks for sharing your travels!! We have snow here in SW Michigan
Nice content as always nicely done.
The White Elephant is where they filmed a lot of Walker Texas Ranger
THANK YOU!🌻😊
And Michigan is headed into the "deep freeze" this week ..we had a dusting of snow this AM near Detroit where I live .. and about 5 inches late last week.. now the artic blast is coming in.. I can handle the snow and sleet better than the bitter cold . Be safe and have fun on your travels
Liked the vlog from Margaret P England 🇬🇧
Hi Ron, great account of the gunfighters, well done, any chance that especially with these better known celebs that you could put a couple of pics up for us.
Would make a great addition to the already interesting tales especially of gunfighters and characters of the Old West!
Thanks for what you do.
I always do that in my produced episodes, but this is a live stream walk, and there’s no way to do it. There’s no editing allowed.
Thanks Ron, did not realise, keep up the great work!
Cool live Ron. I hate the cold but then I also hate the heat so not sure what place I would like.
Thanxx as usual Ron😎✌️
Welcome to texas! Where it can be 100F then snow the same day!
Great and informative Ron go get a warm toddy, ciao from Oz,👋👋🙏🙏👍🇦🇺

Hi from Clovis New Mexico
Yes such a pretty cemetery! It's pretty cold this way as well!
What a nice cemetery and a lot of people from the 1800,s wow I would enjoy checking them out a lot of history there🥰🥰🥰🥰
I hope you got to stop in at the White Elephant Saloon, which is still an establishment in the Stockyards area of Fort Worth.
Naval Air Station in westside of Fort Worth was at one time Caswell Air Force Station named changed about 8 years ago
Love all your walks please stay safe on your travels
I like your ORIGINAL "stuff". Don't change your presentations are original, historical, and thought provoking. I also especially like the grave markers unique, beautifully simple, and also those wealthy ornate you show us. Thank you for all the travel and work you put into each terrific video.
right on Dana, will do. I am doing what I love, and will continue to take you all along with!
Replay Sorry I missed the live
Hey! I am jus t outside of ft worth. I would have gone to meet you. Yes. Today we are covered in ice now. Ice isn’t snow when you drive. Ice is awful. Lol downtown Dallas is bad.
Just to think, many of those folks buried there once lived and worked in the same town at the same time, now they are all at rest together as well. They dined and passed each other on the streets living their lives but did not know each other. Just things I think of in these places.
Nothing but rain in Northern Kentucky
Willie the wimp was the song Stevie wrote about the gangster. It wasn't a car but car shaped coffin.
Raining a lot in Jacksonville, Florida the last few days. Today wasn't so bad since it was I'm the 70s
Dropped in later. Hi Ron from Washington State.
Carswell
In 1947 he was reburied in Hawaii. In 1948 he was reburied in Rose Hill Cemetery in east Fort Worth. Finally, in 1986 his remains were moved to Carswell Air Force Base. 1993 moved to Oakwood Cemetery by the base.
Fun fact. Their still gun slinging in Fort Worth. Hey man good stuff. Love the history.
Hello, you should come to Louisiana. Ft DeRussy Cemetery is the best. Also a col. was found and brought home. We have several old cemeteries here.
At least you had your winter coat and gear with you ...smart man . Like me , went to Florida last year and brought my warm clothes and was glad I did have it ..and used it too..
I was prepared. I’ll tell you though I never thought I would need it, I even have my boots for on the way home.!!
I wish I'd known you were so close by!! I'd have come to meet you and bought you a hot cuppa!
Dang! 😀👍
The story of Maj. Carswell is on Wikipedia if anyone cares to look it up. Very interesting. Also there were 3 men that died on Carswell's plane - His Co-Pilot and Bombardier were killed with Carswell. Carswell was buried and exhumed 5 times and he was finally laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery near Carswell Air Force Base. His first 2 burials were in China. His nickname was "Stump".
Oh my, the live notifications didn't make a sound. I missed the live. I will catch up. 💖
Next time!
@@FacesoftheForgotten I can see it was frigid there. This winter is really unpredictable and really cold.
It's icy and cold 🥶 here in Bowling Green Ky
Since you’re headed down I35 check out Oakwood Cemetery in Waco Texas. There are many interesting people buried there. One story that may be interested in, is William Cowper Brann.
Howdy, you are now aware of the serious weather we are experiencing. This freeze will last through Thursday and the only road treatment here in Texas is spraying brine from trucks.. no salt, no kidding. Please stay safe 60’s by Friday. We live in Georgetown (north of Austin) in Sun City, yes as in Sun City Az! Take care safe travels
Hello, here in Denver 3°
He was initially buried at a Catholic mission in Tungchen china, re-interred at Oakwood and he was only 28
Hello from New York
So I can blame YOU for this cold air then. Love you anyway. Welcome to Fort Worth!
It’s definitely my fault and I am so so sorry!! 😂
Finally caught up on the livestream. It was a good one. Alot of people looking out for you as you brave the cold 🥶 They want you to use cheek warmers? Didn't know there was such a thing. You'd be all wrapped up like a mummy! Well, be safe and warm anyway. 🙏 💕
what does a cheek warmer look like?
@@FacesoftheForgotten I have no idea! Didn't know they had them. I just remember someone said you needed them. 🤪 😜 😆
Fort Worth is my home town. There is Lockheed not to far from this cemetery where they test aircraft Also to the west approx 30 miles you have Granbury where Davy Crocketts wife is buried at the Acton cemetery. She has a beautiful head stone. Also the Lockheed plant was formerly Carswell AFB
Yesterday it was 61 and now it’s 28! 🥶
Crazy isn’t it. I was bragging yesterday on Instagram and a video to you all yesterday from Oakwood cemetery on the east side of Dallas and was getting all excited and I’ll look at what happened.
Dorothy Buchanan's father, Thomas Buchanan, was a railroad worker and he always walked through Bayside Park on his way home from work. Dorothy went to the park to wait for him coming home and was brutally murdered. Her body was dumped under the concrete bridge at the entrance to the park. The murderer was never found. This happened 103 years ago.
Live outside of San Antonio it was 75 here today, cold for the next week. Stay safe and warm❤️
will be there this weekend, it will be getting better by then,
WB Evans died 9 months after a knife fight when he was stabbed in the stomach according to newspapers at the time…he was never able to fully recover…so sad.
Paula watching from Ireland
It’s interesting to note that Luke Short was only 39 years old when he died, apparently of what was called Brights, Disease, an ailment of the kidneys.
that was a contributing cause
Couldn’t do anything this weekend in Milwaukee, snowed all day Saturday and covered in 8 to 10 inches of snow, now waiting for the cold with wind chills of 20 to 30 below.Stay safe and enjoy the warmer temperatures.
Carswell afb is adjacent mitchum field in Ft.Woth

this weekend, just 1 story tho.
maybe 2 since you mention it!! 👍😊
I will never give up on my Ferroequinology
You know what they say Ron. If you want the weather to change in Texas just wait a few minutes.
I said that in my instagram vid--lol. is true.
Replay Love
If your in Fort Worth, you need to come on down to Dekab and see Dan Blockers grave.
You need to come to Frankfort KY. Daniel Boone and wife are a cpl of famous people there also Covington KY is another good cemetery also
Cold in Kansas!!
I'm in Corsicana about 60 miles south of Dallas. It's in the low 40s here today. Chilly 🥶 and raining
Was buried in China, Hawaii, and Roseville cemetery in Texas and then to the base named after him according to Wikipedia.
