      This was great, I been tryin to find out about "acid reflux stomach symptoms" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Mackorny Cool Stomach Blueprint - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my colleague got cool results with it.

    Just a heads up that the enterochromaffin cells are found elsewhere in the digestive tract, but not in the stomach. Those cells secrete serotonin.
    The cells in the stomach are 'Enterochromaffin-like Cells' and secrete histamine - they do not have any serotonin producing or secreting organelles.

    • @Tina-yw9ds
      @Tina-yw9ds 7 лет назад +30

      Also G cells are not in the same part of the stomach as parietal cells, parietal cells are on the corpus glands and G cells are on the antrum glands of the stomach. That is why gastrin acts like endocrine regulator and not like a paracrin one (like histamine).

    As someone currently suffering from chronic nausea/vomiting and decreased appetite from what may be an ulcer or gastritis, not really sure yet, but also a bio major and science minded this was really informative and helpful. I like knowing exactly what’s going on with my body and how the medications I’m ingesting actually work so this was definitely interesting to me.

    Fabulous presentation! Very clear and helpful. I would just update the idea that all GERD or GORD is caused by high stomach acid. Now in 2018 we have PubMed and other journals acknowledging what the Functional Medicine community has been saying for years. The problem with many people is LOW stomach acid and after ulcers (commonly caused by H. Pylori) have been ruled out with a DNA stool test (addressing H. Pylori with Matula Tea is best) or healed you should go to building the stomach acid via products like HCL along with digestive enzymes. HCL should only be taken for meals with protein (650mg for a meal at least containing a small chicken breast is a good place to start) and healing the stomach lining and esophagus via fresh aloe juice. See studies for emerging evidence that Proton Pump inhibitors and acid reducing products cause a myriad of health issues. FDA has only approved most of these products for up to 8 weeks not months or years. Doctors need to get to the root problem not cover up the symptoms with chemicals that cause more side effects down the road.

    ladies if you have bloating , gastric and acid problems please do not forget to check your ovaries and womb through VOG. Sometimes it can be endometriosis or PCOS.
    Also get treatments to cure your acid reflux from gastrenologist and they will do a endoscopy and colonoscopy test to detect your stomach and ulcers.

    Did you mean to write Enterocromaffin Like-Cells, when you wrote Enterocromafin cells? Because if I remember correctly the EC-cells secrete serotonin and affect the nervous system, while ECL-cells secrete Histamine(as you wrote) and have a positive effect on Parietal cells.

    The problem buy neutralizing HCL you cause indigestion because there is not enough stomach acid to break down the food which will reflux back up the esophagus and that's the problem with gerd. You don't want to neutralize that stomach acid you want to increase it, otherwise you'll be stuck on ppis for a long time and those cause gastrict emptying slow down, deffiency in a bunch of vitamins and can also lead to gastroparesis
