I started drinking AG1 a few months ago because of you which has been very beneficial! I was looking for some ways to state motivated with the cold weather here, so your video came just in time! Keep up the amazing work, and stay awesome ❤

this video is literally perfect, it sums up nearly exactly what i've been doing to drag myself out this winter. i started running in september and kept it up 1 - 3 times a week since, woo. cute fits, good gear, dragging myself out for a lunch walk even if it's rainy. if I don't keep ticking over in winter it's so hard to start up again in spring. wish i'd seen this 5 years ago!!

I live in southern Ontario, its been consistently -12c for the past week and snow everywhere. I've still been going for my daily walks, except I refer to them now as my "trudge" as I have to walk through a foot of snow in some places lmao, but good resistance I guess! Mostly its just about keeping up the habit of going out for a walk, and less about the walk itself.

I cannot stress enough investing in merino base layers. It's truly a magical fabric that even when wet won't bring your body temp down PLUS if you buy it in warmer months you can usually get a pretty good deal on "winter" clearance items at places like REI or REI outlet and because it is so resistant to odor, you can get multiple wears out of them before needing a wash (plus, you shouldn't wash it that frequently and should hang to dry). I even use merino base layers (short sleeve/tanks) in the summer for moisture wicking without the smelly fabric.

This is months later but I just tried the LMNT chocolate hot and OMG it took some of the awful out of my colonoscopy prep. As a long time carless walker in a Northern climate, sometimes thin socks under thick socks and thin gloves under thick (or under mittens) is just the thing. WIsh LMNT would sell a 15 pack, I want to try the chili mango and the chocolate carame.

Thank you for the video! Lithuanian person here, lately been stable -8 celsius with thick snow. Great tips. I finally bought goretex sneakers for winter running, last winter accidently stomped on ice while trail running and the ice broke I fell into a small river with my mesh sneakers, was not fun. Had to run all the way back with soaking wet feet through snow.

I live in Seattle and bike commute most of the time, through cold and rain. It never gets extremely cold so the lowest is usually around 30F. It’s often quite wet though! The best thing you can do is get gear that will keep you dry! Plus with short days, bike lights are needed for safety.
I love that so many people bike in Seattle even when it is often raining and it’s very hilly.

my hack is mountain sports in winter. doesn't have to be expensive but if you get up early to spend all day hiking or snowshoeing or even skiing and snowboarding all day every once in a while, you spend so much time in the fresh air and soak up the sun so it really fills up your cup.
also the adrenaline, views, nice people you get to spend time with! it's my source of energy in winter. ❤

Couple things to add. (Living in Fairbanks, Alaska).
YAKTRAX diamond grip: removable traction cleats that you put on over the bottom of your shoes. Great even for everyday walking on ice and snow. Must for running but still be careful. The diamond grips are the best and worth it. I’ve had the same pair for over 10 years in Alaska winters. The kinds with springs fall apart.
ELBOW PADS: suggested incase you slip and fall. saw someone fall forward when I was in the army, he broke both elbows. Stuck in arms crossed mummy pose for months!
REFLECTIVE gear, vest, hat, belt/strap: For dark running in addition to the head lamp so cars see you even if your headlamp dies. It gets cold enough here that batteries freeze.
Keep phone closer to body (not against skin) in mid layer pocket or it will freeze / battery acts like it’s dead till it’s warm then suddenly full again.
Be aware not to immediately remove a balaclava that is down over your face unless it’s is an emergency. Eyelashes, eyebrows, beards and sometimes even skin can freeze to it and can rip out/off.
Otherwise great tips!!! I do so many of those clothing and lighting things. Don’t forget clocks so you know what time it is.
Definitely merino and fleece. Darn tough socks are awesome!
Alternatively to fleece lined leggings, put on smartwool long underwear under leggings (feed them into the leggings first then put both on at the same time.

Send my LO🤍E from Ottawa. Don’t know how to express how much I enjoy this video. 1000% is all about the vibes. 😅 Just re(?)started running a month ago since i couldn’t get along with the treadmills, and somehow found that as long as i can get outside with proper layers then half the work is done. Even sometimes the view from window is murky due to the snowy weather, it’s usually not that terrible on the ground (especially when moving). And SAFETY is the No 1 for sure in the winter. Yet just can’t help stepping on the fresh snow (yeah, not the dirty ones) cause it feels so good!

any recommendations for what a man should wear in cold weather to get motivated to workout 3 times a day? Cause i have trouble losing weight. I normally need to workout 3 times a day to burn just a tiny bit of fat off. I wonder if something like ag1 would help me cause i have prediabetes. I normally eat boca burgers for protein, some lettuce tomato onion and hot mustard, and baked chicken wings for collagen and some fish like branzino or salmon need some mixed vegetables cooked in a tbsp of unsalted butter. and ice cream to relieve stress. Not sure how to change my diet for consistent weight loss.

Highly recommend trail shoes for those snowy/ice runs. I've got the waterproof Altra Lone Peaks and they 100% have saved me from falling on my ass.
