Is this DCA narrating with a filter or something? Its sounds like DCA, but not quite right.
I recently inherited a 30 year old Bowie, walnut handle, brass hand guard and pommel. 52-100 steel, CONVEX GRIND ! I Saw a similar one online, for 300 bucks ! Its a beauty, and my most prized fixed blade.
out of curiosity where did it come from exactly?
30 years ago is like 1993-94...
That's when
@proclamationofthedamned1714 - Shining Mountains- Blackjack Bowie is the name on the Blade
@@koDaffi - I believe it was made in 1993 exactly, but the company (Shining Mountains) was sold a few years later
I've been eyeing the BEAR & SON Gold Rush for some time.
Suprised not to see a cold steel on this list. Still will give these a look.
That's because Coldsteel is not made in America
YES-nothing like a Bowie!!! Happy 4th DCA!
Happy 4th Bob!
The Bear and Son looks like the old Western cutlery Bowie.
Yup, exactly like a Western 49
I thought it was 49 at first
Would love to have that Randall
The man died like a warrior and had a weapon he used named after him that's actually legendary
He died trying to defend slavery. Calm down.
@GregR2023 he died at the Alamo what are you talking about
@@andrewkelleher2415Look it up.
@@GregR2023see someone who got indoctrinated into " modern history"
Almost no one died defending slavery..
@@GregR2023 I don’t think you know what you’re talking about lol
Randall is amazing.
Very impressive I want a Bowie in my collection respect from the UK 🇬🇧
That tops and spyderco are sweet
I have the bear and sons. It came extremely sharp and it’s well made.
Like the look of the Bear & Son but all have their good points.
That Spyderco looks really cool, but the sydie-hole looks like it's in a really bad place structurally for such a large fixed blade....
I also don't understand why they even feel the need to put a hole on this fixed blade anyways.... I get that it's their "signature" but on a fixed blade in this style it's useless if not detrimental
I like my Ontario Knife Company Bowie
Hold on to that Bowie, Ontario got bought and closed the factory in NY… no more Ontario knife company 😢
I have three knives by Ontario. The SP-10 Bowie, the SP-1 combat knife, and the M9 Bayonet. I love all of them and I would not trade them for anything. I have so many knives but those three in particular are my pride and joy
The SP10 Marine Raider Bowie is a Beast.
I have a condor undertaker bowie thats not bad with a hollow grind and has a curve over the whole edge good for chopping
In my opinion the Undertaker Bowie is one of the best looking bowies ... especially with that deep belly.
I just recently build my first bowie. it is awesome how these big knives are so iconic!
I want the Mtech Raptor Bowie
That one is a beast !
Torture tested my Bear and Son, totally passed. Rolled the tip, and the guard became loose but no major breaks. I Re sharpened the whole blade, pointed that tip and wrapped some leather shrink tie around the guard and she's as good as new. They make a great knife.
Great knives
i love how it was made in america but it looks most like a knife to fight off the demons we have in australia
Is that what you call kangaroos?
I wish they put dates on shorts. Knife Center’s website says the Randall 12-9 is discontinued. 😢
Even if it wasn't discontinued, trying to snag a brand new one would land you with a 2 year wait list. Most Randalls are had via secondhand purchases nowadays.
The Cold Steel Marauder or Recon Scout should be in the place of the Tops knife.
I ❤️all my Bowie’s. I’ve got the Bear and sons and a Spyderco among others.
6 total
Damn that spyderco is so ugly its almost pretty 😂 looks like a tactical kitchen knife
idk why but i love it. its just great, the others are also great bowies
post modern cyber punk Boowee
I was just thinking that, a Bowie/Chef's knife. Lol
I have a replica bowie knife just like one from the Alamo amazing 12inch blade I think the bowie knife is a classic weapon
I love my Prather! I’d like to have that Spyderco, too.
Yea, for what.... $275? Probably more than that even.
My great great great great grandfather is the one that shot Jim Bowie and the sandbar foght
Who want exact same replica of this master piece in D2 Steel
The Randall is 01 tool steel. Oldschool!
Prather has been an excellent knife for my hikes for over 2 years. Highly recommended. Get a kydex sheath though..
My favorite style/type of knife 👍
Damn, I want that Spyderco.
Spyderco❤
That Randall is sweet.
Ive got the Spec Plus Marine Raider Bowie. Great knife.
cold steel black bear bowie machete is my forestry blade of choice. I oil and sharpen my knife regularly and its been unstoppable for over 3 years of daily, hard use
I'd go with the bark river v-44 over the bear and son ,plus its largely agreed bowie died in bed at the Alamo because he was sick, not because he was fighting, let's not get too carried away with the myth lol
Love my Recon Scout!
the second looks like a W49 bowie
When I was a kid, I broke a cheap Walmart bowie and did some interneting and set my heart on a western 49. My parents refused to spend $100 on a ebay knife for me to throw at trees and hack logs with. I held onto wanting that knife for years. I eventually forgot and remembered out of nowhere into adult hood and ordered one that payday one of my favorite knives.
I want that Spyderco 🥵
Cost's around 700$
Jesus H Christ $1,215.00 for the Randall?
Wtf 😮
Holy crap! I got mine around 2006, same blade but with the upgraded stag handle and it was in the $700s if I remember right. It was a 5-year wait from the factory then, I haven't looked at them recently.
Bowie’s knife hadn’t been made yet at the stand at fight
One of my favorite Hawks ❤
I thought the first one was the s&w Texas hold em for a minute
That tops war bowie is fkn rad
I love your content. I just wish you wpuld include a roundabout price for the items
That second one is gorgeous
Yeah, if you’re a pirate
They’re all so pretty
Beautiful❗️
I like #3
One time I had an ex gf talk me out of buying a classic bowie from the 50's. Ill never let that happen again.
I’ve had a Western Bowie sold atJ M fields for almost 60 years. My daddy bought it for me when I was a kid for 25 bucks. Back then that was a lot of money. It gets used a lot. You can put an edge on it like a razor!
Four great , high quality knives. Kudos to Bear and Son for a faithful rendition of the Western W-49 Bowie!! Blsgs, gg
buck ??!!
Awesome
Got a big moorhaus bowie..10 inch D2 blade
Wow spyder co. Ontario knife Co
My Prather War Bowie is my edc knife.
Gotta love Texas 👍🏼👍🏼
🇺🇸
I have a bunch of different styles of Bowie knife and I wouldn't turn down any of these beautiful blades.
BADASS!!😊🇺🇸
spyderco has a bowie?! okay now i want
i did look it up right after i commented and yeah that’s ridiculous
No Dark Timber?
The one that works, is best...
Someone should have told Crocodile Dundee about Jim Bowie... Yep 😊
С этим клинком может соперничать только финка НКВД.
I can never tell the difference between the Randall 1, 14 attack, 16 special fighter, and this 12. Also, does the TOPS come rusted , or do I have to pay extra for that?
Love it.
Maybe list the blade steels? I few of these are made of 440. The last steel a bowie should be made from
Svord Von Tempsky #1
I think ive hears about 5 different knives described as "the most iconic american knife"
out of all of them I like the spyderco because of the better steel as well as a better reputation. Randall knives are nice but just far too expensive.
Cold steel drop forged bowie
The Spyderco does unfortunately have a breaking issue at the guard. Cracks in two.
You will be missed Jim your death was not in vein
I love no.1😮👍
1.Randal
2 Spiderco
3 Bear&son
4 Top
Yeah but which one is the best if i can only get one?
Randall of course. 5-year wait time from the factory, make an order then sit back and wait.
There's no original Bowie knife around now. We do not know what Jim's knife actually looked like.
Heck yeaaaaaaa ❤❤❤❤
"Booeey" 😂😂😂
Arkansas toothpick was forgotten!
There are so many versions of this style of knife and you name just five!!!? For instance, the CASE BOWIE Is a stand out. No question
Old timer bowie , cold Steel leatherneck bowie
Other than a heirloom what purpose do Bowie serve? Wouldn’t a machete be more practical?
That Randall is God's Knife.
The first knife, with which Bowie became famous, allegedly was designed by Jim Bowie's brother Rezin in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana and smithed by blacksmith Jesse Clifft out of an old file.[20] Period court documents indicate that Rezin Bowie and Clifft were well acquainted with one another. Rezin's granddaughter claimed in an 1885 letter to Louisiana State University that her mother (Rezin's daughter) personally witnessed Clifft make the knife for her father.
This knife became famous as the knife used by Bowie at the Sandbar Fight,
The one knife that is illegal here in Alabama. Not enforced very often
Quiero,,,uno
What's price
What about carbohydrates?
This is a good list but for 5th On it I’d say I prefer my condor operator Bowie
Not made in the US.
@@ericsierra-franco7802 it might not be but it’s sure stronger then any tops knife I wanted a Operator 7 Blackout did some testing the edge chipped out so I decided to use it as a throwing knife and the handle broke off maybe American made isn’t the best or I don’t know maybe I got a lemon
I'm shocked that a Buck 110 or General are not on this list....I dig the fact that you put a Bear and Son on the list...
Those aren't bowies.
How do you not have a Cold Steel Bowie in there.
None made in the USA... this was USA made items
@@billyboy3333 Oh I freaking wish nation point beating the shit out of those things for going on 19 years. I would love a bunch of knives! Even though they got sold.
American Made*
Bowie knifes without real full tangs too was really bummed to find that out about them
@@BeigeYeti12345
Some of their Bowies have full tangs.
1200 for the bear and sons gold rush! Nah bruh I’ll pass
Hardly! This Bowie is about $120.00.
@@ericsierra-franco7802 I clicked on the wrong link
Where I Can Buy The Nuber On Bowie!?
If I had a knife like that, no one could tell me nuthin
Bowie knives also scare terrorists in Iraq in Afghanistan.
Not made in USA but cold steel recon scout FTW!
Despite vintage popular media, the Bowie knife is merely a large and heavy clip point knife and not a fighting knife. Because of its weight, it is actually three knives in one by providing a scalpel, a clever and an awl which make it ideal for outdoorsman.
