One of my favorite spots, its super fun from a float tube. The stocking list has some real gems in it, I also enioy the community that comes out to Trojan they are always super friendly. Same for Silver Creek Reservoir, people love to brag about their catches.
Try a smaller treble hook with an egg weight. (They won’t steal the bait) The egg weight allows the fish to take the bait/line without any weight resistance. Watch the line go out and set the hook! Cool video man.
I forget about them treble hooks! I'm always hesitant using those due to wanting to toss trout back if too small but next time I'll utilize the setup you speak of to ensure I go home with plenty of dinner.
@@nwsights6301 that is one setback if you plan on releasing them. I tend to cut off one of the treble hooks and pinch down the barbs if I plan on releasing them. . Size 16 or 18 is my go to. Good luck out there!
@BM-cy7ej the Natalie's I have . The Nehalem& salmonberry, salmon, steelhead, trout . Kind of hard to get access to some of the river, though. I had several friends who lived on the river. Mind you, this was many years ago. Way back in the '80- '2000
@nwsights6301 I can tell you obviously a couple of weeks. I live in Eastern Ore now but going to the lake next week for a camping/ fishing trip with a bunch of my grandkids& a great grandson. Hopefully, one or more of my G kids will be able to experience the thrill of a large trout on the end of the line.

@@BM-cy7ej It's a wonderful place in the mountains my new favorite, I'll be going back to fish again for sure with a little raft I have.
Ive caught several large rainbows out of this lake. Largest was 32inches 12&1/2 lbs.
Unfortunately I don't live in the Timber anymore but fish this lake whenever I'm in the area. Live in Eastern Oregon now.
That's what others there kept telling me that they got some big ones in the lake.
Have you ever fish down below in the river. Im from montana and spent a night at the camp ground by the river. Beautiful area
I have not tried there!
