Something I do is walk in and out of the house countless times a day ( while being yelled at by my wife that the air is on ) to admire the same plants sitting in the same spots over and over again. 😅

Hi, my name is Anita & I am a Cactus Addict..... I have not even ATTEMPTED any sort of recovery or even cutting back. I know I am a sick, sick individual & my will-power went out the window the day my daughter brought me a half-dead cactus & said "MooooooM!!!! Pleeeeease fix it!!!" I knew NOTHING about even simple gardening! But when Princess gives me those big blue eyes asking so sweetly "Pleeeeease" I was determined. I got on the internet & researched for about 2 days B4 even touching the cacti! Finally, I figured the bottom half was rotting so I cut it off, rerooted it & That's ALL SHE WROTE!!! Today I have no qualms saying I'm a cactus addict. In fact, I'm Proud! There's so many other worldly things we could be getting addicted to in this life and I figure, if cactuses are the worst I'm addicted to, then NO PROB!!! We only live once ENJOY IT!!!! Make more room in the greenhouse or build a 2nd one! ! Ask the boss for a raise to buy more! I guess for me, the main downfall has been I have to make sure I'm not TOTALLY over-doing it to where I'm not taking care of the ones I have. I have Alot that are due for reporting now for example. I must make sure they ALL get equal anounts of care & love. And now, like you, Jenny, I have discovered the fun in sowing seeds as well!! I've only done 3 batches so far and only have a out 10 that made it out of all these batches. But I'm learning. STILL trying to find some Astrophytum & myrostigmas hybrid seeds. I finally found one guy but he wants 19.99 for 5 seeds! Say WHAT! I don't THINK so!!!!
Have fun everyone, there IS help if u want it! Like giving them away to trusted people (ME! Lol) so u don't have ur hands too full!!!
If you are a cactus addict, you also have to be a pot addict-every cactus needs the perfect pot to show it off…..it’s a cycle!
Hahaha, great one, Jenny! After five decades of "intense suffering" from this addiction (...and yes indeed, guilty on all 7 accounts/signs!) I can only say... it is a WONDERFUL addiction to have, lol!!! At some point, you simply succumb, stop feeling guilty, accept all symptoms and just whole-heartedly ENJOY every single AWESOME plant and their blooms, lol!

I am a cactiholic. I live in the sticks of Oregon, where there are no cactus stores like Arizona Cactus Sales. But I found a tavern for cactus plants. It's called Palmstreet. My hubby put up a second greenhouse for overflow for me. But when the frigid weather comes, I'll be in trouble.
No heat in the new one. I must set up shelving and grow lights somewhere in the house. I am crazy.
I sure can relate to that. I keep telling myself no more plants , but yeah I'm just kidding myself. The same goes with pots. So I clearly I'm a cactus addict.😢
Another great video, So true, the only thing I disagree with is the idea that one can have too many cacti, I never say that! I just returned from Tucson and shipped 2 large boxes of cacti and succulents home (I love B&B, Bach's and Plants for the Southwest among others). I don't have room in my greenhouse (Chicago area) but I made room. Been getting into Ariocarpus and Astrophytum lately and my collection in that area is growing. As usually, I enjoyed this video very much, I like your approach and sense of humor as well, keep them coming!
#8 could be if you sign up for a pottery class to make planters for your cactus, you're an addict!
It’s almost time for those of us in the north to move all of our plants indoors for the winter and we will be facing the harsh reality that we can’t fit them all in anymore. I’m probably going to have to buy more shelving and grow lights😂

Omg!! What part of the North? Do not fear, space will magically appear 😁 At least one nice thing about grow lights in the winter is that it can help warm the house!
@@cookiescacti Im in the Minneapolis area and sometimes we have snow on the ground before Halloween 🥶 but my indoor plants help me take my mind off of the cold dark of winter.

Great video Jenny! Its definitely something to think about with so many pottery, and plant dealers and sellers marketing and pushing out here. Its easy to get out of balance in our lives, and have too much to take care of.
I’m with you.. I have all seven signs. I don’t want an intervention, but perhaps a support group?, (preferably one with lots of plant connections)?!?!! 😆
Another sign is when you love a variety so much you buy 2 (or more) of the same kind with the intention of keeping one for yourself & giving one to a friend. But when you get home with them, you find reasons not to give it to a friend like: they wont love it as much as I do, or they wont care for it properly & it's just gonna die if I give it to them. So you decide to just keep the doubles for yourself.

The struggle is real.
It's so difficult to stick by "no more" when you come across a unique one like that triple(!) ariocarpus. Cause when if ever are you gonna come across sth like that again, and for that price? It's too difficult to say no and walk away. The regret of doing that would haunt me forever, I just know 😆 so I'd also give in and get it and deal with the lil guilt instead of the regret of missing out. I feel u.
A yard (or house) filled with plants is one well used!

Let a stray cat 🐈 live on my porch because she protects the plants from mice & birds . Now I have to buy her a fancy cat house for winter .( my dogs won't let me bring her indoors and I can't find her a indoor home, I've tried😢)

That new Ario Was amazing though 👍 We have no shops like that here in DK (thank god ^^) But i still tick all the boxes i think lol... i definitely have space issues and power issues with all those grow lamps for seedlings. I try to limit myself now, to only buy seeds, but it just resulted in half of the house being taken over by grow lamps and grow tents :P Good thing i live alone in a big house, and dont have to listen to common sence ^^ Best regards 😘😘

Omgoshhh! I was eyeing those Ariocarpus and Astrophytum asterias variegated!! $30 is really not that bad for the asterias! I would've bought so many cacti if I were there 😬 I used to be a huge succulent addict many years ago, but I mostly grow tropical plants and hoyas now. Unfortunately (or maybe it's a good thing), I lost a lot of my plants when I was moving from Illinois to Florida so I don't have a lot of plants currently, but I'm finding that I always find the space to add more 😅 I have 2 Mammillaria bocasana cacti and one I'm not too sure what the name is, but I'm suspecting it's a Gymnocalcycium? 3 cacti so far, but I'm pretty sure the collection is just going to keep growing... haha! We can never have too many cacti!
I've heard that hoyas have their own deep rabbit hole! I remember back in the day when I got my first cactus, Ferocactus from Walmart. And then shortly after I don't know what happened... I lost my mind! I'm so happy to be in good company here 😁

When you lose a $20 cactus after three months, feels like a family member has passed. It is too hard for entertainment outdoors in AZ, you are 3 inches from the sun. Funny video!!!!
Yes Sadly I keep buying them. But only the really special ones I like a lot. But yes I admit it, I'm totally hooked, But I love them. They make me happy, so why not, also running out of room. Yikes!!!!
I have a small problem with to many cactus around 200 plants and couple thousand seedlings that are around 2 years old 4 grow tent inside with all my babies my addiction started about around 4 years 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I just started collecting cacti this spring and already have about 60. I'm running out of room. I'm considering building vertical racks to expand my collection. I met someone at a cactus sale who is doing that. She said when she dies, her collection will go to the cactus society.

I am not addicted, I usually get cactus from private growers, I have the exact space for the amount of cactus I have, I have refused to buy the cactus I love seeing at the nursery, from the nursery, I stopped buying cactus as soon as I had my collection complete, 57 acres of land for more cactus, and it has a plethora of opuntia already, so I doubt I could run out of space,... hmmm maybe limited space makes people addicts!!! LOL! When there is plenty of room for all of your cactus then you are just a cactus user!!! Don't go to rehab unless you overdose a few times,... rule of thumb.

Yuppp.....but I refuse to pay over $20 for a plant...I am on a limited income and my area zone prohibits my buying certain species.
