I will try! I heard it was crazy crowded on the opening days. Lines to get into the sale and lines from the checkout area all the way to the discount tents!
That was probably the best deal in the whole sale by the time I got there, Tom! I really appreciate your feedback in enjoying the sale with me! Makes the long recording and editing process well worth it!
I would have grabbed the Boswelia Sacra. A tree/shrub, it would do well in your climate. It's the Arabian/Somali incense tree. There were some wonderful Opuntia and Cholla: thanks for showing them. I always enjoy these videos, but I do sit here repeatedly pleading "buy it!" at the screen. Boojum!
@cookiescacti I'm no Bonsai expert, but given that they grow slowly in arid regions, I suspect they'd adapt to the process well. I have seen wild trees and, while characterful, they're not particularly ornamental, it's all about the dried sap.
When you said those Ariocarpus were from Arid Adaptations in Tucson I was surprised I hadn’t heard of them. Thought we had been to all the nursery’s in Tucson. Looks like they don’t have a retail shop. Buy online and pickup. You don’t see a lot of ariocarpus down here. I think most of the ones I’ve seen were at Plants of the Southwest. Arid Lands might have some, I’ll have to check. Last time I was there I wasn’t looking for ariocarpus and probably walked by some.
You're totally right, I don't think Arid Adaptations has a retail space. They show up at the plant sales and as a vendor at the show and sale. I agree - Plants for the Southwest has the most Ariocarpus available as a retail nursery. I see very limited selections at the other nurseries, mostly retusus. Arizona Cactus Sales carries a decent variety of Ariocarpus grown by MilesToGo, but you can also order from Miles directly or if you know him you can probably buy from him.
Great video as always jenny and thank you for the opuntia love I would have took the unpriced cylindropuntia whipleii home with me for sure so jealous 🌵💚
Yayyyy! Was it you who asked for more opuntia love? Someone asked for it a while back in a comment I keep thinking about it every time I go plant shopping. Either way, I'm glad you appreciate the bit more focus on the wonderful Opuntia. Those cholla are so beautiful but look like a nightmare to handle!
@ it was me yes good memories there jenny 🤣 the chollas are a bit tricky at times but I love there structure speed of growth and the will to survive anything 💪 🌵💚
Hi Jenny, great video as always. But I found the prices bigger than I expected. Just for your information. I found a website by the name Succulent Zone. It is located in Texas (or Chicago, I don't remember) but the shipping comes from China. My box was on the road 17 days, all plants were alive. One thing was taken by customs, it was a baby Haworthia, they probably were too tempted to have it to themselves. Overall, I got 6 VERY RARE plants for total $120. In the US prices it would be about 350 to 500 if you are lucky to find them at all. Now it's too cold but I will buy more from them in a spring time. Best wishes to you, your family, Cookie and plants.
I appreciate the information! I know there's a risk with customs when importing plants and it's a risk I'm not willing to take when there are so many great domestic growers, especially living in Arizona. But it's all personal preference!
The 7 inch pot is masterpiece!!!!! Can you send to the master my idea to produce A SET of the same style pots? Like 1 big and 2 equally small? Because my collection lives indoors, I have to buy 2 or more of the same pottery to give my interior a cohesive look.
I'm so glad you like the pottery! Bill is a wonderful artist. He takes custom order requests, so I highly recommend that you message him on Instagram. Otherwise his pots sell out very quickly. I have all his information included in the video description below.
I was really surprised that snaggletooth was even there and the price too. They must have some mother plants and have been propagating. This is the first time I have ever seen snaggletooth in a retail space here.
@@DivaStylez. Ohh I don't think I know the grower for those pots. I've seen plants from previous sales with that top dressing but never found out who the grower is. Someday I will find out somehow!
Great video as always Jenny! Thanks for stopping by to chat. 😁
It was great seeing you, Bill! Thanks for chatting with me and the four amazing new pots 😸
Wow so many cool plants! Love it!
I'm so glad you enjoyed this loooooong shopping trip, Maria!
Thank you AWEsome video! PLEase go thursday next year. Great choices on the pots. Thank you.
I will try! I heard it was crazy crowded on the opening days. Lines to get into the sale and lines from the checkout area all the way to the discount tents!
Wow, those prices were pretty great for larger specimen plants! I really wish I was there 😬
There were some good deals there! It's so much fun seeing what they have in stock every time, a nice surprise.
This should be amazing....
As long as a feature film! 😁😁😁
You got yourself four gorgeous pots !!!❤
Thank you! Very fortunate 🙏🙏🙏
Those aloes!!🎉
I wish aloe liked Arizona! Then I would have too many of them 😂
I went Thursday, unbelievable selection. Always worth attending-
It must have been amazing! I heard there were A LOT of people. I'll have to see if I can take a day off from work next spring and go on a weekday.
Wonderful video Jenny. If I lived there, I would be plant poor. Hahaha
😂😂😂 I'm glad these events only occur twice a year
That Mojave opuntia for only 15 dollars going to think about all day, those spines and clay pots just so amazing, thanks for taking us.🐛

I'm imagining you watching and pleading "buy it!" 😂😂😂 Do you think the boswelia would do better in the ground or potted would be fine as a bonsai?

I love our Adenium's but the bigger they get the more of a problem bringing them in & out for winter ha become. plus somewhere to put them
So true. Sometimes I see pictures of other people's gigantic potted Adenium and I wonder how the caretakers move the pots!

I want of those agave snaggle tooth. those are expensive but only $30?
