Looking to replace my iPhone and trying android. Been looking at the white Oppo find x5. It’s on offer at £449 and was wondering if it’s still worthwhile in 2023
I´m kinda split between the Find X5 the Xiaomi 12. I´d get the S22+, mainly for its long update policy, but the EU version with the Exynos has even worse battery life than the SD8G1 version. According to some people that got it and some reviewers, it´s also quite instable in its software performance. The Find X5 is just a very steep price to ask aswell, so the Xiaomi 12 is quite a sight to behold price wise. I just don´t know if I like its battery performance, camera setup and especially crappy USB 2.0 port that the Find x5 does so well. The Dolby VIsion support on the Xiaomi is very nice though and I think I can even get plenty of use out of the IR blaster. The lack of an IP rating in either the Oppo or the Xiaomi is also just another hit to the face considering the price, making me want to get the S22+ again... But something draws me to the complete package of everything in the Find X5. Maybe I should just look at the A53 instead, save some money and deal with the lower performance?
I can only speak for myself, but the moment I heard Samsung is providing 4 years of Android upgrades instead of Pixel, I kind of assumed it'd suck! For me, Moto and Asus are the only brands on sight. I'm particularly interested in the Edge 30 and 30 Lite. I'd like to have OIS and stock Android, so 2 years of upgrades doesn't really matter since I'll be getting a guaranteed bug-free daily-use experience. Besides, Pixel 6A doesn't seem to have much going on for it, since it too will get a Tensor chip instead of Snapdragon 778G, so battery life there too will be absolute shit! I just hope they're priced right. If OIS isn't a priority for you, I'd suggest Edge 20 Pro. Snapdragon 870 is till date the best 5G chipset ever created by Qualcomm!
I'm stuck between the find x5, the oneplus 10 pro and the find x5 pro. I need a new phone but I've been postponing and contemplating since weeks coz I can't make up my mind. The only thing holding me back from getting the normal x5 is the fact that it has just 8gb ram and my current phone (lenovo legion duel 2) has 16gb so it's literally half and I'm afraid it'll make a huge difference in just the feel and day-to-day normal usage.

As I was watching this review, I brought up the Color OS reviews of both the 12 and 13 versions, and as they were loading, the audio from there perfectly matched "So" and then "As Oppo". This is fate. If anyone is wondering if they should buy this phone, I'd take this one as a sign.

Hi, I enjoyed your video testing the unique Oppo Find X5 Pro. Could you please share which display color mode you use? I’m having difficulty achieving accurate colors with the camera because the default DCI-P3 color mode causes a yellowish tint on my display. As a result, I find myself frequently adjusting the white balance. I’d like to know which color mode you find to be the most accurate when using the camera, and whether you set the color temperature slider to a cooler or warmer setting.
Thinking about getting one from Argos for just under £250 and I actually am a Genshin player so was happy to see it running (it's a good one to test with as I think it's pretty demanding for phones)
That low single core Geekbench score of 777 would cause a severe pain where my £750 had been in my pocket. The SD778, Exynos 1280 or Mediatek 1200 could post similar IIRC. My 2020 Poco's SD865 and the SD870 in the F3 can top 900 easily. I know, I know synthetic benchmarks etc but that would still hurt. £750 seems too much with whats around for £500. Been waiting for this video ever since launch day😁 have to say that from pure looks alone I much prefer the X5 to the pro. I'm not a gamer so the chip set will suit me fine. Glad to hear that the camera is (as expected) just as good as the pro even without the 5 axis stabilization. IF I was going to upgrade my X2 Neo (bought after watching your oppo reviews) then it would definitely be for the standard X5
I tried the lite model and returned it after 2 days - seriously unimpressed. I've ordered the standard X5, after plenty of umm-ing and ahh-ing, but I couldn't justify spending the extra £20-ish pm on the Pro version, when I'm only really after the camera. Would you consider this to be a worthwhile upgrade for a Huawei P 30 Pro ? Yes I know its about 4 years old now but it was soo good nothing has seemed like a worthy upgrade. Software wise though now its time to move on and find something to replace it.
How about the Huawei 9 or something? If you like Huawei, I'd rather you stick to it. If you want to explore other UIs, I'll tell you right here and now, any special brand-based UI on phones will suck! OneUI has bugs, RealMe UI (ColorOS) has bugs, MiUI doesn't even need an introduction and even iOS has a lockscreen issue on the 11 series! Only the old Pixels (upto the 5/5A series) and other stock Androids have no known history of bugs and stutters so far. I'm gonna probably buy the standard Moto Edge 30 or 30 Lite if they have OIS. If not, it's Pixel 6A for me, but I might regret it since it'll have the same Tensor chip as it's elder siblings, so there's a chance screen-on time will not be higher than 4 hours!
@@Farhan_049 Thanks for the reply. I need google store so cant go Huawei, if I could there would be no decision to make. I have been going in circles. X5. Oneplus 9 pro. X3 pro. What Is am waiting for is the magic 4 from honor. Basically a huawei but with Google store. Hopefully that will be what I want and need. However I have a price point and fear that will be outside it as it's previews are really positive
@@davidmckay774 I think the Magic 4 has a Snapdragon 778G inside it. It won't be an outright flagship, but it does seem to have a flagship image signal processor (ISP) inside it, so at least it'll be good for cameras. As for performance, it's definitely no slouch. My friend has a Samsung M52 and she says battery life is more than decent. As an Honor device, it should theoretically beat the M52 in that regard! But yeah, 700-800 USD for a 778G is too expensive, so check for the price before buying. That's the rumoured price, as far as I know.
Looking for a really good camera phone. Got a couple of trips abroad coming up and want to make sure I get great photos. Do I buy the Find X5 or stick with my Mi11?
Go for the find x5 you can get it for £35/month with £129 up front with 100gb data that's much more competitive price than the x5 pro and it's just as good for photos !
You're amazing, I really enjoy your videos and reviews, I want to buy a budget phone with a good camera for vlogging ,what's available in my erea xiaomi and samsung, any suggestions please.
8:02 thats so low compared to other Snapdragon 888 flagships also iphone13 single thread performance is around 1700 meanwhile oppo is 700… android market is still comfortable with losing to apple every year in performance.
I got the oppo find x2 neo a few years back after watching your review and honestly it's been the best phone I've had. I'm out of contract now and looking at this and also the Reno 8 pro. Is there much of a jump in performance from my x2 to these, looking at specs I don't see much but I'm not a tech wizz 😂
AHH man, I m in the same boat as you. I am out of contract too and I am looking to get either Reno 8 pro or find x5 pro. Reno 8 pro looks better than x5 pro but x5 pro has better features than Reno 8 pro.
Hi, Oppo have said that their find range will get 3 years of software updates, but that is not as it seems. Firstly the X2 lite which I got in 2020 got Android 11 (A-11) in 2021 and A-12 in 2022 but isn't getting A-13. Only 2 updates! My find X3 lite is running A-13. My find X5 lite which I got in 2022 came with a colorOS 12 skin on top of A-11 and is currently running colourOS12/A-12. Why no 13??? Finally I've read that the find X6 lite will come with Android 12 with a colorOS 13 skin on top. That is simply not good enough for a mid-range smartphone that is supposed to get 3 software updates when it is coming out the box 1 version behind.
Just google. The X5 gets 4 android updates (so incl 16). the x3 neo and lite are excluded however and only get 2 "years" of android (so could be 13 or 14) and 3 years of security updates.
I bought this RAM 8 device and downloaded the Fortnite game and put it on an automatic frame. I faced a problem in the game and then put it on frame 60. Unfortunately, Mobile Lag is terrible at gaming. Is this normal or is it supposed to give better performance? Or is it possible that the device you purchased has a manufacturing problem?
Got the black one, cos I'm a bloke and all that, but I really wish I'd got that white one it's very nice.. Dead happy with this, want the freebies, oppo need to get their skates in and stop narking me off on twitter.. Thanks mucker, always love your bids and banter..🤘
Hi Antony, how is the battery on your oppo find x5 and have you had any issues with it, I am currently on a huawei p30 lite new edition and looking to upgrade,
Cheers for the video. Think it's a good phone with great battery charging speeds, not really into the black camera housing, wish it was all white like the pro and would've been good if it had a flat display. How many OS updated and security updates does oppo get?
Thanks for your reviews! yours is one of the best tech & phones channels I've seen. Would you like to do a video Xiaomi 12 Vs Oppo find X5 ?? I'm hesitating about which one I should buy and I'd love to hear your point of view! New subscriber from Scotland. Cheers!
I have the Find X5 and although it's a big price jump to the X5 Pro, that adaptive display on the Pro, 50W wireless charging and proper IP rating are what you are getting. My gripes with my X5 are the lack of an adaptive display (either 120Hz or 60Hz) and proper IP rating (only IP54 as confirmed by OPPO to me). My Find X3 Neo seems to last longer than my X5 despite the latter sporting a 4,800 mah. Hope this helps. Overall, the Find X5 is amazing if you aren't paying full price lol
@@venofoz3597 Hello. That's interesting what you say about the battery on the X3 Neo compared to the X5. What's your overall comparison of the 2? Cameras decent on both?
@@TJB147 Hi, image quality is definitely better on the Find X5 cameras, less blurry on quick shots and in my opinion, clearer. The photos still look washed out though even with AI enhancement & 10-bit mode on, so you need to make adjustments if you want the colours to pop or to be more saturated. Night shots are impressive on the X5 so the phone is definitely an upgrade. SD888 is power-hungry so without that adaptive screen refresh on the X5, the X3 Neo is more energy efficient - I game on both phones. Overall, both the X3 Neo and X5 are great phones, it just depends on your budget and preferences (processor, battery, camera, etc.). I only upgraded to the X5 because I can 😅, plus you evidently get improvements.

On a different note, I'll leave the review to the pros here on RUclips 😅 I just get hyped up when it comes to new technology products, they seem fun. I was almost tempted to get the Samsung Galaxy buds 2 Pro but I'm not impressed by the battery life and it's ever growing "wall garden" when it comes to the features, then Jabra released the Elite 5 yesterday so I ended up getting that one in hopes to replace my 7 Pro. The 7 Pro doesn't do well outdoors during calls as it picks up every noise possible that my voice gets drowned and I'm virtually inaudible to the other end. So 🤞 since the Elite 5 has 6 redesigned mics, one of which (internal mic) targets wind and eliminates that during outdoor calling. I'm honestly appalled about the 7 Pro since Jabra is specifically marketing it to have superior call quality.

What do you go for I the end? Had a p30 Pro n found it to be better than the s22 ultra
Looking for a really good camera phone. Got a couple of trips abroad coming up and want to make sure I get great photos. Do I buy the Find X5 or stick with my Mi11?
Go for the find x5 you can get it for £35/month with £129 up front with 100gb data that's much more competitive price than the x5 pro and it's just as good for photos !
very good review❤
Its my birthday nextmonth may 10, hope i can buy my new simple phone. Im so amaze all you unboxing but cant afford
This guy is hilarious 😂 not thinking of buying these phones and yet I watch his reviews 🤣
Hello sir Love your Tech Videos Watching you I have started my own channel
Are you guys getting the Find X5 lite in the UK? Would be interested in a review of it
Yeah weve got it now, im tempted to get it, if the battery can do a day with medium-heavy use
Greetings Chris! Can you share some of your anime wallpapers? They are top notch.
Seems like the oppo x6/x6 pro not released outside China. Why?
Will there be a FindX 5 Lite this time around?
Wear do you get your anime wallpapers from
Oppo x5 vs Xiaomi 13t?
I'm having trouble finding rugged cases for the oppo find x5 pro I work in construction any suggestions
Are you going to review the fairphone 4
@@tip00former1the price right now is 370€ and they said 5 years of updates, released in 22. Sounds promising at that price vs a55 or note 13Pro+.
Every flagship should have a fresh white/black model
I’m in the US where Is the best place to purchase one?
Is there a budget option with color os ? Like under 300 bucks? With a good display and sound?
Oppo A94 5g. I've been using this phone for a few months and I'm not disappointed. Recently updated to Android 12.
What's the best oppo phone for photography?
Does it have a screen protector on it ?
It has dual sim or single ?
If you can get the X3 PRO for 600e or the X5 for 750e, which one would you buy ? I'm really hesitant...
Im asking myself the same question.. although its difficult to find the x3pro under 800!
Go for older flagships, possibly with Snapdragon 870. You won't regret that chipset.
Any thoughts on the x5 lite?
Hummm, you have Google Discover feed instead of the Smart Assistent...
Any Find X5 Lite reviews in the pipeline?
just tell us from where do you get those awesome wallpers
Had my pro max 14 stolen so just picked a second hand one of these up and it's really just as good lol
you may have made this device sound better than i feel it is . ahah good for them good for u
Great review. When you referred to yourself as a Wrinkly, Baldy, Sack of misery it had me laughing so much 😂
Where Do I Find These Wallpapers ?
I look for any video between this 2 phone but I didn't found any thing
When will I get one
Yeah, very good question. How many android updates and android security updates so we get 1000€ ?
3 years OS and 4 years security, at least last year's find X3 series, so...
@@shadowform1264 Wow, that's decent.
@@Buzza235 yup, i have the find x3 Neo thats why i know xd
I'm tempted.
Got the Findx pro 2 and love it best phone I have had.
Cheers!
Holding out for the in depth review of this before I buy as I'm not sure if the price difference between this and the pro is worth it
I have the Find X5 and although it's a big price jump to the X5 Pro, that adaptive display on the Pro, 50W wireless charging and proper IP rating are what you are getting.
@@venofoz3597 Thanks for your reply. What an amazing answer. I got the X5 Lite but regret not getting the standard. Still might exchange. You should start doing some review videos of your own 😊
@@TJB147 thank you! I had a look at the X5 Lite before and I think that it's a solid phone. How does the X5 Lite handle night shots?
The colourOS & features section has me in bits mate. A phone reviewer shouldn't be this funny
