Yeah... Flagships at $399 usd seem like a thing of the past now. I really like the concept of "essentials" like the A52s/S21FE or "flagship killers" like the Realme GT2 pro. Hopefully there's more phones like those launched soon. A phone with decent battery, decent software, and decent photography would be enough. Phones at the $500 usd price range are rarely well rounded. There's always something finicky with one of those aspects.
Hope vivo focus more on updates, any promises about 3 year android upgrades and 4 years security or better? This was allways the point that keep me away from vivo phones. Camera is awesome
No doubt this is my next phone, watching from my oneplus 7t pro. BBK company knows what they're doing, I'll miss the alert slider on the oneplus though. I see myself all around RUclips watching every video I can find about this phone 😅.
I am currently using a OnePlus 7t pro and I'm so torn between what phone to get next, I've had it since it came out and it's just perfect but unfortunately battery is starting to tank and I'm going to miss it so much especially the alert slider😭
@@Joshuaskehan-mk8cj yea, I only have issues with the battery getting weaker and the phone's recent temperature rise. The screen and functionality of the oneplus 7t pro is just so exceptional and there's no rival to it, it's sad no manufacturer decides to do something similar moving on, I'll miss it when I decide to get a new phone.
@@JeremiahFestus2 OnePlus definitely put a lot of time and effort into this phone but sadly went a bit downhill since it's release, producing very underwhelming products as of recent and it's sad to move on but as they say, love the product not the company
@@Marcosg090 not yet but now I'm confused because Vivo has launched the X90 pro plus with the SD 8gen 2, I'll wait till next year before I'll make the decision. OP 11 pro will be out soon and it's promising also.
Lol. It seems that vivo has told all the youtubers to post the vid about x80 pro becuase you and Mr whose the boss posted at same time. This phone is awesome. Love the review
The problem with Chinese phones is they abandon it after a year so you might get an update in three months but really it's over after 11 months, Enjoy your wit and humor when dealing with some of these things
I might have to correct you there, when it comes to IP Rating. All news outlets I've read about the phone mention IP 68 rating. Do you have a source that says otherwise?
Subsequent to my earlier post. Vivo UK only lists Amazon as it's online shop for the purchase of the X80 Pro. Having taken the plunge and bought the phone although Amazon quotes the supplier is in Hong Kong the retail box states the Authorised European Representative is Vivo in Germany, and also quotes an official UK Importer. The supplied charger is a UK one. The phone has up to date firmware, and updates OTA to the latest security patch. As for the UK price, a reviewer located in Spain is quoting a European price of 1200-1300 Euros. Only my second day of ownership but, not being a Gamer, so far heat generated by the Snapdragon chip has not been a problem. Still a lot of testing to do.
On Vivo's own website this phone is IP rated. The only thing that is left for them is the lack of frequent and long time software updates. And their international version of phones can be very basic. You quickly get bored with them. But the Oppo phones are always new because of features
how do I sign in to Vivo ID? I live in England and I bought the x80 pro yesterday through Amazon UK, as soon as I turned on the device and sat it up. I went on the settings and didn't find Vivo ID which I could use for Vivo cloud and any future app payments. please I need some help
Hi and once again thanks for a great video. I got my Vivo x80 pro a few days ago. And i did, what I have been doing with the last to androind phones I have had, since I unfortunate had to change from my beloved Blackberry phones to android, because of the need of some modern apps like to able to park a car and pay for it, bank and others that the BB 10 OS could not provide. I installed the Blackberry Launcher and the Blackberry keyboard onto the phone. And its works brilliant I have to say. The super great BB keyboard that I loved so much, when we not talking about the physical BB keyboard, that no software keyboard can replace, are perfect on the Vivo. So it is possible to get rid of the Funtouch and it works great for me and I do have the pleasure of the Blackberry Hub+ to as well:))))
I love your accent and I love the review mate. I like the cinematic mode cause my current phone which is s20ultra it doesnt have it which is a bummer but it is what it is. From indonesia 🇮🇩 with big love.
The phones performance is impressive but I ask about the designs and aesthetics of these expensive phones, is it that the materials that they are built out of are not that malleable? For example the back of this one looks like 3 assembly lines blew up in close proximity and the mess hasn't yet been cleaned up. But it's a great phone.
Love all these phones and want so many of them, but life is just too hard with inflation just now. Makes me super mad! Depressing stuff.
I don't want to spend any more than £400 on a smartphone.
Maybe Sith Lords get a special discount 🙂

Great looking phone & informative video 👍🏻. Just wish Vivo premium phones were easier to get hold of here in the UK.
I think there is an IP 68 rating on X80 pro,and it has also 4k 30fps on selfie video cam....

Vivo or Oppo, the only 2 honest and reliable Chinese brands out there that don't seem to try to shaft you. The only 2 I'd buy anyway.

What’s the difference between the original Chinese version and the global version? Will a Chinese version work in Australia?

Yes. But this vivo x80 pro is technically one generation ahead. The mi 12 ultra may beat it out when it's released
