  • We were in need of a 90 degree pilot screw adjustment tool for tuning the carbs of our Honda VTR Firestorm (SuperHawk 996) as its pilot screws are difficult to reach with a normal screwdriver. These 90 degree tools are nowhere to be found where I live. In this video, we show you how we improvised with a 105 degree drill bit hex tool and still got the job done. We noticed that the 105 degree drill tool was significantly cheaper than a 90 degree pilot screw adjustment tool in international markets.

I’ve got the same tool for my Honda VF750 Interceptor, works great!

Nice job boys. Need to adjust my XR screw and the current import issues we're facing in SL, this seems a worthy idea to try. Thanks!

What's the minimum space needed for this tool to fit in under the carb? That's the distance from the tip of the screw driver bit that turns to the bottom of the 105 degree bend? The Xr's have a very little space between the fuel screw and top of the starter motor :(

Hi, thanks for watching. The tool is quite small, if you have a couple inches by the carb screw you could fit this without an issue. I measured the distance from the bottom of the head area to the hole where you put the screw bit and it was around 0.8 inches. So with a screw in, I'm thinking the total width would be around 1.5 inches maximum.
