A-level history is my favourite out of my 3 but it's so hard to get top grades honestly, been stuck on C-B since September, need to be predicted an A hah
@@szdigi yeah i got an A*! :)) i found that after i did my coursework i really improved in all my coursework subjects, just do as many practice papers as you can!! a C at this stage is still a really good position to be in :))
this was such a useful video! i was thinking just the other day that i had no clue how to revise history and i’ve got my year 12 mocks coming up soon so this is great timing!
Hi!! I'm Franz from the Philippines. Ever since I subscribed to your channel, my grades were always over my expectations. My expectations were always 94 or 95 for my general average, but then I got a 97 for my General Average!! I really want to thank you for being one of my motivations! Love and support you always😊
a tip you havnt mentioned is just to learn around the subject in different forms. what i mean by that is listen to a podcast or watch a documentary/related drama read some articles. because doing that doesnt have the vibe of doing work like the traditional textbook does do.
this is all i could think whilst watching this! like i have to do democracies in change for both britain and the usa in the 1900s and it's awful :( history is one of my favourite things to learn about but these topics are so boring
ib history is literally 4 to 5 more than a level history that you just mentioned... we did the entire Cold War, two world wars, two civil wars, two limited wars, Weimar Germany, Mussolini, Hitler, Castro, Stalin, imperial & communist Russia. I wish I did the A-level
Hey, im doing aqa tudors too this year, are you willing/able to share your exam question booklet thingy as i need to find more questions to do! No worries if not !!
With my German a level history with AQA, any chance of sharing the links to your quizlet cards or your germany table summaries please, would help a lot
Hey....when are your exams I also need insight on the exams.....I'm a private candidate taking history literature and sociology do you mind sharing your IG so we can talk more cause I really need help herre my exam will be in may/June 23
7:40 point may have already been made, but in an exam wouldnt you pick the questions youd find easier to answer? although thats not the idea of the revision, but if youre simulating exam conditions/what youd do in an exam wouldnt you pick the ones youd find easiest to answer?
I’m in a bit of a pickle atm, I’m currently in year 12 doing a media btec course and I absolutely hate it. I first applied for a levels but I ended up doing media because I couldn’t be bothered to do a levels and now I am regretting that so much. I’m planning on staying an extra year and starting a levels in September with students from the year below. I’m just wondering whether I’m making a big mistake as I’m not sure if a levels will be 100% for me. Help someone pls!!!
Ellie S I feel a similar way about taking media for A Level, I hate it and it’s completely useless for me now. I strongly regret not dropping it in yr12 and changing to a different A Level. I definitely think it would be a good idea to drop the media btec if you really dislike it and give A levels a go, it’s a very brave move, but I think you won’t regret it in the long run. To put it in perspective, I don’t mean to trample on those who do media btec but by doing just that qualification it really limits your choices in the future and employers who work within the media actually say they don’t want btec media students, they want kids with a broad educational background (3 A levels). For example, my media teacher tried to arrange a talk with media btec students at my school from prospective employers and they refused because they said, “well, why are they taking btec media? That’s not what we are looking for.” Which surprised me but it’s true. A levels are tough so what I would do if I was in your situation is take 1 higher level btec that’s equivalent to 1 A level, so you have one subject that isn’t so exam heavy. Or you could take 1 A level that is more vocational like art, graphic design, if your more creative as at least there will be one subject that isn’t revision heavy. Then chose two that are more essay based or the sciences what ever you prefer. This will really broaden your options! If you really fear the more content heavy A levels you could always do 2 or 3 creative ones, regardless you will still have more options than 1 btec qualification in media.
Aimee Gardner thank you so much this is extremely helpful and eye opening! Yeah if I were to switch to a levels I would do history art and photography so I’m easing off the heavy revision and content as I enjoy the creative subjects. I will never ever go into media or filmmaking and I feel as though I need to test the waters in different subjects like history and art
Ellie S That’s no problem. Yeah, I definitely think if your so certain you don’t want to go down the route of film making or media studies at uni then I think you may find that just taking btec media could lead to be a bit of a waste of your time. I think it’s really designed for people who are determined to go into production or only want to take media related courses at uni.
A level history is literally the bane of my life why is it so hard lols
