Oh, uh, well. You need a torque screw driver to open the back cover. There are 8 screws (or is it 9 screws), and once all the screw is removed, you should be able to open the back cover by carefully prying the latches away. Inside is kinda bare. The RAM chips are covered with its own heat sink. There is an M2 slot and an adapter so you can rotate it to fit M2 2280 SSD from M2 2242 SSD. Fan is serviceable by removing 1 or 2 screws which makes maintaining and cleaning the fan easier. There's a huge battery pack (almost covering half of the system). There's a CMOS battery but unfortunately, it was sealed with two cables with a plug connected to the motherboard.

Definitely a fantastic and capable laptop I love the small size and the 2 in 1, I just wish it was a little more premium in terms of styling. Sucks that the hp envy doesn’t have this level of perfomance, but kills it in terms of looks

soldered memory to the board is always a deal breaker for me. laptops in 2021 should come with 16gb minimum to keep this machine working great on windows. the next model up is 100$ to get 16gb of memory and a better processor.

    • @mattlong5746
      @mattlong5746 2 года назад +1

@ConManliness you could but you would end up paying more for the ram, solder, flux and with a lower end processor. It would save you time and money just paying the additional 100$

Small reminder, any laptop 5300, 5500, and 5700 U or H processor is actually a 4400/4600/4800 U/H This is actually a good thing. Compared to the 4000 series, where a 4700U was just a 4800U with hyperthreading disabled, which could mean a 10-40% performance loss at a similar power usage because of binning. the only real difference here is Zen2 to Zen3, which, at most is a 30% performance difference, but that does come with lower power usage, which is great for a thin and light tablet/convertible

Lenovo is one of the go-to brands for Linux compatibility, though it might fare better on RHEL distros like Fedora as that's the de facto variant in the enterprise world - You rarely see OEMs target anything other than that or SUSE, especially in the consumer scene which frequently has Windows-only configurations.

Where have you been before I bought mine lol
I have the higher version of this
    Ryzen 7 5700U
    8 Core 16 threads
    16GB RAM
    512 NVME SSD
I use it mainly for work and bought it around the end of October. It is fantastic for me. Unfortunately, I didn't really have time to test it's gaming performance just yet. I only did 1 benchmark for FFXV and confirmed it ran horribly on it lol. I know it is not meant for gaming and I don't game on laptops unless I have too anyway and I don't mind doing it on a lower quality.
I used to have a Yoga 500 I think it's name was, 14 inch, It was great too until it died a few months ago "some hardware upgrade went horribly wrong" and just needed to buy the new one recently and I can say it is substantial upgrade for me.
There are only a few cons for me personally after almost 2 months of use
1- The screen is noticeably smaller for me compared to 14 inch and I should've considered it more carefully but it's not bad. Better for tablet use though.
2- I hate that to use main functions like page up and down and so on, I have to use fn key. It is not great for productivity without an external keyboard.
3- The fans work at 100% most of the time because of the compact design and the heat can be annoying sometimes.
    Pros:
    1- VERY light
2- The battery life is AWESOME.
3- It is a power house in terms of performance in a tiny package :)
all my opinions are personal and for my use cases and I LOVE it.
If anyone wants to know anything specific about this tiny beast hit me up ;)

You should note that the 5500U is just a renamed 4500U...5600U and 5800U are actually 5000 series CPUs but 5500U and 5700U are just renamed 4000 series...

A bit late but I have this laptop and have been searching high and low for an emulator I can use on it. I have the emulator you have for PS2 games but whenever I try to load a game it says "Failed to create render device. This may be due to your GPU not supporting the chosen renderer (Vulkan), or because your graphics drivers need to be updated.". Any tips?

Hi! I have a question about the battery performance. How long does it last? if I do word processing and net browsing. And is 8gb ram too bad for windows 11? Thanks!

Hey! I am planning to buy this one with the Ryzen 7 5700U CPU 16GB RAM, I will mostly use it for productivity for media consumption and some photoshopping. Ocassionally though I am gonna play Minecraft, CSGO and GTA 5 on it, will it be okay or shall I look for something like a Legion 5 (gaming laptop) or so?

I got the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga Titanium. It's an i5 with Xe graphics. It actually is a nice little laptop. I got it when my ipad pro died as I wanted to just use my windows apps. I would of wished to get an AMD APU in it. lol.

I went with the LOQ. Besides battery life it smokes this laptop for less money. 2x 2280 m.2 slots, 2x ddr5 ram slots and 1x 2042 slot. Bigger screen, 4050/4060 gpu. Also no power button design flaw.

When it comes to the emulators, can you test Yuzu emulator for the next time. It is worth it for the benchmarks due to its early stage and improving. Yuzu certainly needs a lot of RAM and good GPU. It certainly does a heavy load for my old GTX 750ti. Can only run it nicely with GTX 1650 on my HP Pavilion Gaming laptop.
