Thank you for posting. I own 4 Necchi Lydia machines. Only one of them works and it seems to have tension issues. I think the cams are cracked on the other 3 as it won’t sew but a straight stitch but not sure. I did not understand how to adjust the bobbin tension until I found your video. I had been researching for a long time. I’ve had the machines for about 3 or 4 years and just got them back out to try and trouble shoot.
Thanks for the very clear vid, esp with the bobbin tension adjust. I picked up a 544 a couple weeks ago, after a good soaking overnight and a new motor belt, she's purrring nicely. It has a good camstack but the plastic gear above it is broken. Any idea where to get a replacement?
I’m afraid trawling FB and the internet is the only option. There are some Necchi groups with members who can 3D print, that’s likely your best option.
@@sailingtessbesssewfarnorth1746 Yeah, I don't see anything out there. And last night the small hook gear (already cracked) split while sewing. What a pity. It was such a nice machine while it was working, even as just a straight-stitcher. 😩
Hey there. I just picked up this machine from a thrift store and I have used it once. When I set it to wind a bobbin something happened, it sounded off. When I opened it up a broken bit was in there. But I don't know what the whole piece looked like originally. Its the part that engages with the main shaft. Which means that my machine is constantly stuck on bobbin winding mode. So I was wondering if you could send me a picture of your intact one and I could have a similar one 3d printed?
Thank you for posting this. Love the Lydia 3 - beautiful design and (fingers crossed) mine is working perfectly. I think there are some people who have developed the pattern software to get the cam stack 3D printed. Might be worth a search if you ever need to replace it. Do you know there is a needle threader ? That little tab just under the head by the needle bar. Pull it down. Has a hook that goes through the eye from back to front. Lay the thread on it in front of the eye, and pull it back. I wouldn't get too excited...after about 10 attempts, you might get it to work 🙃

Bella mi Lydia 3. Es mi máquina preferida. La tengo 46 años y el técnico acaba de venir hoy para hacerle limpieza y mantenimiento.

Thank you , I have one and it’s been sitting there waiting for someone to help me 🤪
Thank you that is a lot of help for me
Thank you so much lifesaver ❤
You have missed a hole when you are threading the bobbin. You have to put it throw that round hold at the top. 😊
Oh thank you for your input, it’s great to know folk are taking interest in my work.

Metti l'ago al centro perché è spostato a destra. Grazie
Can't get tension right yet...not actually stitching just moves forward like it is stitching but kind of tucking at the material
Contact me through face book group, Sew Far North, I’ll try to help
You solve the problem.
È l'ago della macchina fuori centro per cucire diritto
Come devo centralizzarlo per poter cucire bene ?

My Necchi Lydia 3 is stuck on a bobbin winding mode. Any ideas why and what to do? Thank you.
Sorry not without seeing it.
Hi, when I sew with mine is makes this bell ring sound, is it normal?
@@masetshabanemakhavhani oh sorry I’d need to see the machine to know if it’s working correctly.
@@sailingtessbesssewfarnorth1746 It does work correctly, I'm just worried about the bell ringing sound when it's sewing
@@sailingtessbesssewfarnorth1746 Would that require a picture or video?
@@masetshabanemakhavhani sorry I’d need to physically see it to work out what’s causing the noise.
Can you show me the lower area of your machine?
Sorry this is not my machine, it was a repair for a friend.

This speed control on the engine does it also make it stronger as you go slower?
I want the needle number please
It’s a 15x1 standard domestic needle.

Thank you, yes I’m aware of the 3D printing option, that’s a great idea. The needle threaded didn’t work on this one, hook was broken.
