I can 3D print new cams. But, there is no way I'd want to collect the Lydia because its just way too much hassle. Thanks so much for showing this model as it is rarely shown.
I got one of these two weeks ago and it’s an amazing machine it’s brilliant. It’s all working and I paid £50 for it. The orange colour is fabulous. Hi from Northern Ireland. Nice video
The most important job for plastic is for it to break. And it never fails to do its job. It will do its job sooner or later, but it won't fail to do it's job.
Good vid, thank you. I saw it AFTER I bought a 544 😥 The camstack had already been replaced, but the plastic gear above it was broken. What are the prospects of its repair/replacement?
I have a Bernina 930, it has started missing stitches when I’m using zigzag or button holes, or converting back to a straight stitch, can you do a video on this
Great video thank you. My 1st sewing machine (21st birthday present) yes I’m that old. Made my wedding dress on it. My question is, could that cam stack be replaced? I’m thinking 3D printed replacement perhaps if it is possible to remove the old one without damage?
Would "plastic welding" work? It uses a low wattage, low cost, pencil soldering iron. If yes, how would you adapt plastic welding technique? RUclips video on plastic welding: ruclips.net/video/gRCMIDILfEI/видео.html
The problem is that the plastic material has shrunk so if welded, the welded section would still be longer than it should be, therefore distorting the stitch pattern. Thanks for the comment.
Would 3D printing of this cam stack be an option? Also, I have a crack in the bobbin winder part, so the needle doesn't run up and down, it is in constant bobbin winding position. Is this part replaceable? If I could DM you with a picture would that help, I just don't know what that part is called. Thanks😊
@@myprecious1967 I guess 3D printing could be an option but I suspect the design process could be very time consuming unless someone already has a design. Swapping out the cam stack could also be time consuming and I wonder whether it would be worthwhile. You're probably best finding a spare part from another Lydia for your bobbin winder as they are no longer available. Thanks.

😭 why am I drawn to things with fatal flaws like a moth to a flame?!!? Such a gorgeous machine!

These came in a wonderful range of colours. Remuneration Sewing Centre has an amazing display of them.
I believe there is a 3D print pattern floating around out there for those who want to replace their cam stack.
do you know how or where to find it?
It’s at Thingiverse - Google “Thingiverse Lydia cam stack”
@@annamlleryang3439Search “Lydia 3d print cam stack”
Ugh… I want this lil orange beast so bad… my fave colour

Why do you think these copies are cracking? I think it's because they were poured with oil.
