I think there should have been eight more Pokémon: Cubone, Machamp, Poliwhirl, Clefairy, Tentacool, Tentacruel, Kadabra and Venomoth. However these are just some examples.
It is pretty strange. Ekans was seen in Beta footage of the game, but never made the final release which would have put the total number of Pokemon in the game to 64. Instead, there's 63.
This was one of my most nostalgic games I've ever owned for the N64. Those were such good memories. Not to mention, seeing the get a sequel and being rereleased for the Nintendo Switch was such a satisfying feel. It does make me want to see all these worlds return in New Pokemon Snap with new Pokemon being seen in those areas.
Personally I'm only into this pokemon snap. I really only like gen 1 and some gen 2 pokemon but after that I'm not into it. I grew up with pokemon in the 90s...
If you look at the island map on the stage select screen, its basically the Belusylva region from New Pokemon Snap. The valley stage from the N64 is now Mightywide River, as referenced by Todd :)
ngl when I was a kid I rented this from blockbuster and I loved it so much I cried to my mom asking if we could rent it again because I loved the charmanders in the lava level at 26:44 so much I would redo the level over and over just to make them all come over the hill
Making the Charmanders dance in the photo gallery made me cackle. You spent an hour and a half beating this. I spent hours and hours trying to aim the goddamned apples.
I didn't realise there were only 63 pokemon in the game. You would think they'd include a few more. At least 64 to go with the convention of games being called "... 64"
I remember throwing apples into those flowers at 3:39 dont remember the pokemon that appears though..... Edit: just kept watching, you get the apples later 😅

Well it did technically appear in OG show, but only in Japan and the episode never re-aired because there was a series of rapid red and blue lights in the episode that caused hundreds of children to have seizures.

I think what I miss most about the old pokemon games is the music. The new games have such trash music the old composers knew how to make a song fit the atmosphere of a level.
