I love James Patterson! He takes a plot and turns it into one of America's top five (Your number one!). To the Mystery and the Witty he has captured our hearts through his characters. :)
I love James Patterson! He is my favorite author. My dream is to write along side him on a book one day. I love writing and hope to write books as great as his one day. Even if I never become well known or rich, it doesn't matter. I just want to produce books that can be loved by other's even if the number is small. Reading is so important to me and I love how much he tries to get younger audiences to start reading more!
I want to become an active reader. But I have no books I'm interested in. I also want to read Charles Dickens so badly. I have no transportation and I'm homeschooled so I was thinking about getting a nook. I want to read all the classics! I also want to improve my vocabulary.
SunnyPrincess owl for starters I wouldn’t recommend the classics right away as a kid I got into books by reading some of James Patterson’s book such as Daniel x also goosebumps by rl stine and the Percy Jackson series but I guess you’re a bit older than that age level so you should start on easier reads for you and try to find what interests you. Charles dickens is very interesting but can be a hard read for newer readers. At the moment I’m reading Don Quixote by Cervantes. Anyway point is try to find something for your age level and that’s interests you. This comment is 6 years old so I’m not sure if you ever got into books or not but I just wanted to help anyway. Happy reading!
I love Patterson's Alex Cross series and have devoured each one like it was a big ball of cotton candy. I wish Mr. Patterson wrote faster. If you haven't guessed yet, I'm a voracious reader and I know there are others out there just like me. So for those "in between" times, I've found some other series that I've gobbled up: Tess Gerritsen's Rizzoli and Isles MA Comley's The Justice Series Linda Prather's Jacody Ives Mysteries Steve Berry's Cotton Malone books Alex Kava's Maggie O'Donnell novels
this is a good interview i used some of the info for my school prodject, and it really helped me find good things about James.....and the first book i have ever read of James would be Maximum ride;Angel. once I read that I started to read more and more, and just fell in love with his books.......JAMES PATTERSON IF YOU ARE READING THIS I THINK THAT YOU ARE ONE OF THE BEST AUTHORS OUT THERE......KEEP WRITING YOUR BOOKS ARE AMAZING................
James pattersen inspires me. I may never write as many books as he has co-authored books, but my goal is to write at least fifty books before I die. In 3 years I have written ten books so far. It would be amazing if I could reach out to James Pattersen and that he may want to pick up my new book series! I am about finished writing the 3rd book in the series. Tonight I just finished one chapter having my characters swim with dolphins. I lived in Hawaii and swam with dolphins for many years so it is easy to write about them. ❤
Readers should note the second name on the covers of his novels, which is the ACTUAL writer for his novels. He allows his name on the cover to sell them. Check out Writer's Digest interview with Patterson and read his actual confession that he hires other writers to write the novels.
@DJBJN Well he did actually admit that the work relationship between random co-authors and himself is that they will generally write the first draft and then he'll rewrite it. I think James Patterson is a great writer and I'm working my way through his collective works a few books a month. But after I heard that, I couldn't help wondering how much he really did in some of his novels. If the idea, characters, plot, etc was his co-author's, then what was left for him?
@Deimoshunter i just looked at the interview at your suggestions, and what he explains is actually pretty different than what you just stated! perhaps you should reread the interview.
His books go by so quickly, I never mind reading one of his Alex Cross, Daniel X, it doesn't matter. Tho i must say Witch and Wizard was a little dissapointing, but compared to other authors he is the best
Since everyone is commenting their favorite book/series... I'm gonna go with Kill Me If You Can. Out of all the books I read, I could not put that down. Read it from cover to cover in one sitting.
@Fireball128934675 you dont know how bad this question applys to me so much. I bought the book at Barnes and Nobles the day it came out and I stayed home and read it not even going to school that day I think. If it was even a school day but I know I did not move from my bed just to use the Restroom. But did they even die Iggy Nudge Gazzy and did Max Fang Dylan and Angel die or did they live? So confused.
@Chanelleml Generating an idea and being an "author" are completely different. There are many prolific authors out there who do not hire other writers. As an author/writer, I'd feel cheated to do all the work and have someone else take the credit for it.
The book I am writing is a teem romance book series. James how can I contact you? I would like if you could contact me about possibly co-authoring my teen adventure/romance book series.
@Deimoshunter I'm just saying he isnt the only one who does it. And if only his name is on the book then he wrote it. I love him for Alex cross and he wrote that alone so I dont care. But yeah its weird.
It's to bad Stephen King had to bash this guy (even if he may had been right). Sure he's not the most talented writer, but he's a good guy (and I guess a decent story teller). I don't care for his writing, but I got respect for him because he's a good guy, unlike Stephanie Meyer who seems to think the world worships her and even goes so far as to compare her writing to shakespeare.
@fabuloushayley1 lol thats right my dumb ol homeroom teacher said i cant meet him cuz SHE SAID THAT YOU NEED A FRICKIN AUTOGRAPH PAPER FOR HIM TO SIGN.
@Maximum daisy i believe so gazzy and nudge and iggy did die possibly and max fang angel and dylan continued to live and i myself is in LOVE with maximum ride my fave characters is max and fang =FAXNESS
When did I ever say I worshiped him? I love his work and him as a human being. Yes he uses ghost writers, but the plots are his, he is simply better at creating plots than crafting the story. Without a plot you have no book. No matter how well you write, without a good story it's not worth anything or vice versa you have to be a good writer to tell a good story. It works both ways. Peter de Jonge was one of his ghost writers, until he got published.
Patterson seems like a great guy, and I respect him and his writing, but I consider him more of a stock thriller literature writer, rather than really a great contributor to honest, raw literature
@CaliforniaBarbie21 lolol dats really funny but i like his more older books I have nothing agfaisnt them i just really dont like them witches and wizard gave me the biggest headace but i still finished it and it was a waste of time
Maximum ride and the rest of his newer novels appeal to nobody but young people who are not into reading very much. If your talking about his early Crime thrillers than forget what I said but his newer books are just nonsensical and pretty much any mature reader out there agrees.
Dude I mean no offence to you I just feel bad for you. He doesn't write his own books anymore he uses a tactic called 'ghostwriting'. I think you should look more into a person before worshiping him.
@bandaproductions100 well i think i just hate the plot okay when i read the back of it it sound intereintg but once i started reading it was so stupid because they were actually witch and wizard and the whole idea of the story seemes stupid and the ending was just terible
2019 I’m 22 years old and I’m writing my first book children literature
I love James Patterson! He takes a plot and turns it into one of America's top five (Your number one!). To the Mystery and the Witty he has captured our hearts through his characters. :)

I'm reading Witch & Wizard and I love it!
he looks like a wonderful grandpa. haha. i never knew he was this old. but he seems nice.
@DJBJN Well he did actually admit that the work relationship between random co-authors and himself is that they will generally write the first draft and then he'll rewrite it. I'm on your side!
@Fireball128934675 you dont know how bad this question applys to me so much. My only question for him is...how could he screw up the ending of Maximum Ride so much?
@dakotagadel yeah I just noticed that, maybe they made a typo or someting?
iffy overall. I like some parts(Byron is one of my favorite characters), but itjust lacks that charm that made me like MR and danny X.
i have noticed that all of the books that like that is his is co-writed by some other random writer
can i have this written somewhere please, word by word..... project
I’d read a ton if I did not have to mow the grass growing up.
@Chanelleml Generating an idea and being an "author" are completely different. There are many prolific authors out there who do not hire other writers. As an author/writer, I'd feel cheated to do all the work and have someone else take the credit for it.

It's to bad Stephen King had to bash this guy (even if he may had been right). Sure he's not the most talented writer, but he's a good guy (and I guess a decent story teller). I don't care for his writing, but I got respect for him because he's a good guy, unlike Stephanie Meyer who seems to think the world worships her and even goes so far as to compare her writing to shakespeare.
does he really write his books? he usually seems to have a co-writer which people often suspect is the true author...

Having said that all,Patterson doesn't write his own books. Lol.
When did I ever say I worshiped him? I love his work and him as a human being. Yes he uses ghost writers, but the plots are his, he is simply better at creating plots than crafting the story.
