The 999 is my new favorite, and choose it more often than my G900 or PTM 899. Im 95kg. I am very happy with the glide and speed, but most surprising was the maneuverability given it’s span. My go to now.
I switched from 926 to 899 and noticed the speed difference with the 899 feeling super smooth, fast but still really user friendly. Just as easy to get up on foil like the 926, in fact they feel the same and once up on foil very stable. I run I with the v Stab 360 to make it even more slippery. I think the 926 and the 999 or 1001 would feel too similar.
@@Marky6566yeah I got an 899, 926 and 1001. Love the 899 with 340 turbo tail, but 926 (with turbo tail) is better low end for sure. Need some more days comparing 926 to 1001. My guess was 999 would be pretty close to those 2.
The 899 and 999 have noticeably more glide than the G900 (same as 926). 899 a bit less low end, and the 999 noticeably more, than my G900. The G900 collects dust now. No experience on the G1000.
Interesting to hear the 999 has more low end than 900. I also have 899, 1001, 926. I feel like the 899 has slightly less low end than 1001 but not much. Also doesn't feel quite as fast but better through the turn and easier to ride swell (for me who is not an expert).
Similar to other commenters, I have the 1001 for light wind and am looking for something to go with that has more low end but still fun to carve around. I know Slingshot says the 999 has the low-end of the larger G1000, but what does that really mean in terms of how much less windspeed do you need to get up and going with it compared to 1001 or 926?
Personally, I get more low end out of the 999 than the 1001 or 926. It has a really easy low speed lift and low stall speed. Easy to pump it out of a hole and keep it going too. -Tucker
Hey Tucker! My idea is to use it in a downwind towed by somebody. When its around 15 to 22 knots. Which could be better, 899 or 999? I havent ever tried this style, just kitefoil in swell P.S. my idea is to convince a friend who will tow me 😂
On the old m6 710 fuse, yes. They are compatible with the new m8 700hs and kraken t8 fuses as well but you'd need to drill it out for m8 screws -Tucker
Nice review Tucker.
Thanks!

Thank you for sharing the stoke, my friend. Glad to hear that you're loving the 999. 🤙🏽 Good winds! -Aaron
Any thoughts on 999 vs the older wings, ptm926 or 1001?

Hi Tucker how do you compare the 799 to the 825?

That'd be a blast. Stock on on beers for bribes :)
@@MACkiteboarding yeah! Just let me know again if 899 or 999
Thanksss
@@Danieldaniel-gz8fe For the average size, skill rider I'd suggest the 899 for waves chest high and larger. 999 for smaller waves. -Tucker
could you compare 999 vs 1001, how about pomping?
Imo the 999 pumps better not only because of the shape but it is more rigid than the 1001.

Do the new foils work on the older fusalage like the fkite v5 hover glide ?
no, but you can re-use the mast if you put the phantasm adapter on it. -Tucker
Would the 999 be a good light wind option for a 62kg rider?
Yes, it even worked well for me at 90kg. -Tucker
Can you jump the 999? Currently on the 926, but at 240lbs could use the extra low end of 999.
Yes, I did quite a few times. Jumps well, good pop. -Tuckre
