      hi, you can change between acustic and metal trough the guitar?

  • @Kimberlight

    Neat! Looks good for traveling. Innovative too and they thought about alot of cool things like the double use strap, the jack/strap location and the bars being put into the body.

    Can’t wait for someone to mod one and put magnetic pickups in. I’m sure you could have an A/B switch for piezo/electric!

      Don't need that. There is a HUSH-X for your electric needs.

    Dude that "acoustic" guitar sounds tight for metal. Who needs a Strandberg/Kiesel headless!

    There is a magnetic allan key built into the top of the guitar for tightening the tuning pegs.

  • @doctoribanez

    Its kind of cool in a way. Needs more frets though

      @thatotherdan9984 9 месяцев назад

      That's what the full size guitar is made for. This is for easy traveling and practice anywhere. Which it nailed since you really don't need to have 22 frets as the missing notes can be found in other places.

    Not for metal guys, but I like the shape and it's function as acoustic guitar. Perhaps make metal riff on it will be unique performance

    I would use it for acoustic gigs, and maybe even for quiet practice.

    The hex key is also for the tuners.

    I've been looking for a travel guitar to practice on the road but that just sounds kinda wrong. The piezo sounds harsh under distortion. Sounded great acoustic, but aside from the odd clean line, I'm almost never doing that.

      Just get a headless guitar. I have one and I often take it to work (I'm a trucker). Great for travelling

    Nice idea, but wouldn't be for me. I rather the Martin LX1E for an acoustic/electric travel guitar (which I have). The Martin actually sounds very good acoustically and/or plugged into a PA/amp. I've used it many times for gigs and as a back up on stage guitar. Thanks and appreciate the review !

      The Donner is much smaller. I can put it into my suitcase so no problems arguing with flight staff about putting it in the overhead or into baggage which I have had with other travelling guitars.

    I have one… I only used it for slide… the action is bad and only got worse. I’ll have to put a lot of work into it to get it playable… but it is fun for slide for sure.

    I'm a bit confused, is this actually an acoustic guitar? Or just an electric guitar with a piezo. An acoustic guitar would need a thin vibrating top. Which is generally why you cant use them with distortion. I guess thats why they call it hush? Its quiet like a semi acoustic?

    That top brace is useless. I wish it had a built in tuner instead. Supposedly there's a magnet that holds the allen wrench in place.

  • @leecasss
    @leecasss 10 месяцев назад

    Nice review! You can get the guitar much cheaper than your quote. The guitar stays in tune pretty well. I mainly play slide. I plug this guitar into my pedals and amp and play it like my normal Strat, but only when I'm travelling. I installed strap locks; one next to the lead jack. I disliked using the hex wrench for the dismantling and installing of the metal body shapes each time I travelled, so I drilled right through the holes and body and put in brass bolts so that I can use a normal screw driver. It looks fine: like it came like that. Also I didn't like the way the tuner sat on the end of the neck so I made a split dowel to fit top and bottom. Now the tuner sits snugly instead of wobbling. I've got photos and could post them if you tell me how!

    For practice, this has a use but you might as well just jam on any electric guitar not plugged in.
    For recording as an acoustic? No
    For recording as an electric? Hell no

    A normal headless guitar is a better solution for the travelling metalhead. Almost as compact and they're proper guitars with real pickups and everything. There are plenty of battery powered amps to choose from too. Guitars like this are just a gimmick.
