I recommend you to visit another parts of Poznań like Jeżyce (very good restaurants and beautiful architecture) Łazarz (especialy Wilson park and the huge palm house) and Wilda. Also it is good to visit Imperial District with all its beautiful architecture and lovely Adam Mickiewicz park.

I was there in 2018, there was no digging work at the Rynek, was beautiful. Very nice and relaxing atmosphere there ❤
