yes, pretty much you are right. Absolutely the same selfie camera, same display but without the 120 hz, same new software stuff like the new smart hdr, focus thing blah blah, same ultra-wide, almost the same main camera(without the mm things), 2x vs 3x on the regular 15pro not big of a difference. The main difference really is the 8 ram vs. 6 and the new chip which is nothing special 10% faster CPU-wise, the GPU is faster as it's advertised that we are going to be able to play AAA games but for me, it's not a deal breaker.
@@sdmoore89 it’s only because my 13 pro max has problems with the display and battery drains too fast on my model while everyone else has been getting 2 days, and the WiFi is pretty slow on mine. Doesn’t seem that much faster than my old 8 plus. But I bet it’ll feel just as great as the 13 pro max, or even better because no more having to wipe the sides constantly

Great review and quality production. It is now very obvious that Apple is locking the screens of the non Pro series to 60Hz because it is the ONLY REAL feature that is more attractive in the Pro one. Hopefully enough people will keep complaining that a $800 phone really SHOULD include such option. I mean even myself as an Android fanboy would have bought the iPhone 15 this year if they included the 120Hz on it... So they definitely lost a new customer and I'm willing to bet they lost other millions of potential new customers because of this mistake alone... Cheers and keep up the awesome reviews.
The vocal minority won’t bring about change in a company as huge as apple. As long as the majority don’t care, they’ll keep milking this one feature for the pros.
@@prshantmalodianot really a necessity but for a $700-$800 phone, the least Apple can give is 90hz for the base models. And imagine a premium phone which doesn't have AOD in this day and age💀
Funny thing you mention the older iPhone. Cause someone mentioned that to me while I asked for a iPhone 15 cover and screen protector. I was telling them that I was upgrading from a iPhone XR. The guy asked why not get an iPhone 14 instead…. Well… I’m one of those guys that holds onto my phone for 4 to 5 years… I can handle 60 hz as I’m coming from an XR which is 60 hz… but… 48 MP camera quality and USB-C are 2 things which will become a norm in the next 5 years, and none of the older phones has that… moreover why hold onto tail end of a dead technology. Only the iPhone 14 PRO and PRO MAX is comparable but it too doesn’t have USB-C. Now, I wish it had 8K video… but sharing pictures and chargers is also very common… imagine getting a iPhone 14 and shooting 12MP pictures 4 to 5 years from now??? And sharing those pictures with family and friends?
They done that before - for example, in ios 13.2 users were given controls to set video framerate and resolution right in the camera app, which previously had been buried in settings only. But - they did it only for the latest models, iphone 11 lineup at the time. Later they allowed this for iphone x lineup. The 15 shoud be good enough to justify its 50% price bump over competition - but not too good, otherwise people won't buy titanium. It's a difficult game of balance for them, lol
If the basic iPhone 15 would have at least a 90hz display, I would buy one to try iOS and would use as a secondary phone. But I can not use a 60hz display on a phone anymore. I like the basic model's design more than the Pro's because they seem more playful and well balanced with the tinier camera bump.
Guess I should count myself lucky because I literally can’t tell the difference between 60 and 120hz. For me the base 15 seems like the 14pro at a way lower price.
My iPhone 14 has a screen with a refresh rate of 60 HZ and I don't mind this at all. 120 Hz refresh rate on small smartphone screens is not very useful, compared to larger computer screens.

I would say u diverted from the topic and talked so much about the pro model, whereas the review is meant for the base models. But anyways, great one. For the first time I'm liking a base model iPhones more than the pro. The slimmer bezels, new dynamic Island, new 2x portrait and new A16 chip is enough for me to use rather than getting the pro max. Not trying to say promax is bad, but someone like me don't need so much. The base model is just perfect
I have a iPhone xr 64gb which cost me $749 when I bought it 5 years ago and the standard iPhone 15 128gb is $799, that alone makes it worth it. Funny how my speakers are dying the same week the new phone comes out

I have had a 12 Pro, 13 Pro Max, 13 Mini and I’m thinking about getting a 15 Plus this time. When I switched to my 13 Mini, i immediately noticed the hertz.. but I got used to it as it’s been my daily phone. Yes, Pro Max would be ideal but I don’t use my camera like that. There are Android phones that cost $200-300 with 120hz displays, the fact that Apple is selling a phone in 2023 for $800-900 without it is crazy. They had to keep 120hz for Pro models because if they didn’t, there would not be a good enough reason to upgrade. Performance-wise, the 15 Pros aren’t THAT big of an upgrade from 14 Pros. You’re really paying for cameras, some software, and a new button. Most consumers can’t justify an extra $100-200+ for 95% of real world use.

Honestly, most people don't really care about what a 60Hz display is - it's just tech slang to them. Even if you put a 60Hz and a 120Hz iPhone side by side, people will notice the difference but for most of them it is not significant enough for them to care. WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT 120hz. It doest matter. I'm fed up with reviewers beating on this 120hz every year even though nobody cares! It was usb-c before, now it's the 120hz I'm sure when they put a 120hz you'll complain about something else. Obviously just for clicks and views.

iphone 15 plus = 201 grams
The 15 has 48MP, 1 micron, 10mm diagonal sensor and it's middle 12MP will be 5mm diagonally. The 12 pro had 12MP 1.4 micron, 7.5mm diagonal sensor. Should have done some research on the fact before publishing in the video.
It's still not the case if you include 14/15 pro which have the apple's biggest sensor. 48MP, 2.44 microns 12.2mm diagonally.
the new iphone 15 colours (except black) are waaay too girly...
Wait you are @iknowreview ..... OMG 😱
