It all starts with Johnny cash :)
i'm just learning guitar at 54 years old and am thoroughly enjoying your videos.. they are super helpful and very encouraging when things aren't going so well
Great to hear!
Great video. I had the wonderful opportunity to see him live in concert in 1981 at the state fair. Amazing concert with June. It’s funny you mention that he made it sound like a train. When he would do those train sounds in concert it sounded like you were on that train. Thank you for posting
Love hearing about your experience. Once in a lifetime.
You play delightfully.😊
Thank you!
This is the best lesson for Folsom. Thanks man! My Granda will be buzzing out when I surprise him with this!
Thanks and happy to help! Buzz on!
I'm 56 years old and a long time beginner. I intend to stick with it this time. Thank you for saying how many bars. Other RUclips instructors leave that out. Thanks for your time and video.

That said wonderfully! BOOM CHICKA SOUNDS! Like Johnny Cash, and good ol Patsy Cline style 40-50’s BOOM CHICKA ERA SOUND, I LOVE IT TOO! What style of music can I search for and do you have any band names that would be good to watch for this kind of style playing? Love your stuff!
Early Johnny Cash. Any early country from the 1950’s
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!

I am getting old and I have to learn the Johnny Cash strum soon. I cry when I hear you play it. I cannot fit the strum into I walk the Line, or any song.

You're welcome! Capo so I can play along with the live recording.
even with capo. 1st fret?
Please, would you do a tutorial for the Paul weller "man of great promise"
Keep up the great videos.
I'll check it out!
Nice
Thanks so much. Glad you liked it
Cuz, I just did 29 days n county.and you do this. Lol😢
No offense, because you are obviously a great picker, and definitely better than I.
But why the capo?
Howdy 🤠 from Tom in 🇨🇱 Texas 🇨🇱
None taken. To play along with the live recording
Capos are often used to match a recording; many singers & groups use capos to avoid having to modify a riff when playing in another key, etc.
Why no mention of Luther Perkins... that's where the sound came from
Good point.
