I said to Noustha while editing that transition: "this is so not worth the effort", and let's face it, it probably wasn't. So I'm glad you acknowledged it with your comment :).
I like that you're sailing with an albin vega, it stands out from the other channels where the have super expensive boats. It makes this channel more interesting!
Which I'm very much happy for. Of course, anyone living on a boat has to make sacrifices for the lifestyle, but with smaller boats, these are very much amplified. So, it's a nice consolation to know that "well, at least it's a more interesting story" :).
It wasn't enough that you were living an adventure in paradise, you had to go and find an adorable girl who likes you enough to share it with you. Meanwhile, my 45 year old self is about to leave for work at 5AM so I can pay my mortgage. My wife is still pretty damned adorable herself and life isn't half bad, but I'm still more than a little jealous. When you're in the middle of the Pacific and feeling a little miserable with the passage, please look around yourself and over at your girl and think of me dragging my ass to work.
I definitely try not to take it granted, even the really miserable days (which do happen!), as I know that I am very, very lucky to be doing what I'm doing.
Awesome to find someone that shares your dream. Moving to a small boat, there are not very many out there. I switched my full size guitar for a 3/4 size, traveler guitar. Can't be in the boat without a guitar! 3 years from now I hope to be in the ABC islands for good. For now, flying there three, or four times a year, tests my patience. Live the dream and fair winds.
Looks like a Dinghy has caught fire, not really a may-day call, more of a pan-pan. I didn't see anything life-threatening. But let's see in the next episode.. I for one hope that he is tearing up that pussy in the meanwhile
good job brother. She is a beauty. Time alone can recalibrate oneself and make meeting someone to share with you more fruitful. All that and aqua water, palm trees, sunsets. Good job.
You have discovered your purpose and a beautiful woman in the process. My Sailing plan is still a few years away to start. Fair winds my friend, you and her are a perfect match. Keep tanks aboard, she is a diver and it will add income for both of you in your travels, as well as quality time for both of you, and a new skill for yourself. Life is about learning. Life is about loving. Keep a log and go forward, I wish the wind at your back and the sun in your sails... Be safe. Be brave. We will have a sundowner together one day. Jay
Thanks Jay, and you're totally right. We just can't carry tanks because of the extra weight. We're already constantly fighting to get weight off the boat.
Have now caught up with all your videos and enjoyed them greatly. You are an informative narrator who doesn’t take himself too seriously, and are doing all in a worthy cause. Sadly the long haired Admiral (my wife) has decreed I have reached my patreon limit, so until Tally Ho is finished I cannot help financially. But I will like and share. Good luck to you both for the future.
Yes! Awesome video and slowly creeping up in length, once you get to 20 minutes its basically a tv episode (without the commercials lol) Thanks dude, your channel is excellent! Cheers 🍻
Cartagena, Colombia, good cheap place to haul out on the way to San Blas. Fun city and great Latino music. Today, we leave Madagascar for Tanzania, Africa. Lemurs, my new favorite animal. Hope you have a nice down wind sail !
Nice video! @ 0:50 you captured us while we were just leaving Bonaire. It would be great if we can use some shots for our next video of Bonaire. We might have some shots for you as wel;-) Fair Winds!
Sorry that was my personal account. This is our sailingchanel. We are now working on our vlog from st Maarten to Bonaire. We are in the Netherlands right now. What about you Guys? Ps. How did you do that very nice route animation?
Great video man! I’m new to your channel but I binge watched all your videos yesterday! You make me want to quit my job and buy a boat(hell I do have some experience sailing in San Diego). Until then I will live vicariously through you! Thank you for sharing your story!
I'm glad that you mention the thing about the harnesses at 3:48. It's deeply alarming to see open ocean sailing without harnesses/life jackets on. Having recently purchased an Albin Vega, I really am digging your channel and seeing what you're doing with it as I work on mine and get ready for some bigger adventures soon.
It won't happen again, that's for sure. If you're not already a member, you should join the Albin Vega group on facebook. I'm always posting my problems there ;).
I luv ur videos mate it motivates me, it awakens my deep seafarer soul, now im saving money for a small boat and planning to circumnavigate the Philippines
All caught up. and Yes it is about the people an places. the passages are beautiful bits of peace and solitude to be relished as they offer a contrast to time on land with people. The confidence of the later makes the former seem magical. Heading over to you patreon. Small boats rock.
Well, she did bring a ukulele to replace the guitar, and gave up a lot of her own stuff. Some of the stuff is for both of us (like the kite and kiteboard) -- but we both had to make sacrifices.
You should try to get a Baby Taylor. It's what I carry on my Cape Dory 28. For a 3/4 size guitar it has amazing sound. I bet you could find room for it. See you on CF !
Every Coral reef looks ill. I am 51.. When i was a young lad. Jaque Coustau. Famous underwater photographer. I watched all of weekly series.. The coral was so Vibrant in Life......... So Sad what it looks like today.
My crappy GoPro videos don't really do it justice at all, but it is certainly less healthy than it was even 10 years ago, like most of the planet's reefs. It's sad indeed.
Floridian here, we have problems with Lion Fish too. While they don't have many natural predators around here, there are a few. If you should ever come across another dead one and/or happen to kill one for yourself, take a pair of scissors, or knife and cut off the fins, which hold the poison. Once removed the fish is the same as any other and can/will be eaten by any other large predator.
I'm the Philippines there's the Manila yacht club where you may be able to dock and you will have to find the coast and geodetic store to buy charts of the Philippines
You now have to have a drone operating license in Canada so you might be able to put down dinghy drone flying experience down on the application form in Canada. I think the application and exam are online.
Mentioned in the video and it was reckless. We don't trust anyone to pick us up if we go over, even with a harness, self-inflating PFD, and PLB. Thus, the first rule on the boat is always, don't fall off the boat.
Wonderful format! I love your videos... they're so much inspiring :) However in this video , although it was just a few seconds I couldn't understand exactly if you were sending a MAYDAY message or a MAYDAY relay. If it was a MAYDAY message, then it's wrong. MAYDAY only applies to you your crew or vessel. If you heard a MAYDAY call and the Coast Guard doesn't respond, you can acknowledge the MAYDAY and send a MAYDAY relay. In this case (if I'm not wrong), you haven't heard any MAYDAY, therefore, you should send an Urgent message, by using PAN PAN instead. The format of the message is equal to MAYDAY. Hope this helps... keep going and continue to share the adventures of Tarka ;)
How big is Tarka? I'm planning on selling up my house and car etc. and buying a cruising boat of around 35' I've been sailing on a 60' custom built boat that was built in '95 for the Cape to Rio ocean race. She has subsequently done 3 more Atlantic crossings and is now retired from racing, a good friend and I are currently working on his 24' dual keel boat with the intention of sailing her up the west coast of Africa from Cape Town to Southampton
Tarka is 27'. Compared to a 35', and especially a 60' boat, she's quite small. But compared to that 24-footer you're fixing up, she might even seem roomy :).
Hey DJ, we try to post a video every 2 weeks, which would have meant the next episode would be released today. Unfortunately, I've been dealing with a tragedy in my family the last two weeks, the next episode is a bit delayed as a result. Sorry!
Great stuff man. If she can’t handle the pee on the stings it’s a no go bro. Pee on her stings. If she doesn’t agree and like it, it’s someone else. #andlikeit. Great channel man. Gives me hope for a landlubber selling real estate
So after your have used her, with her consent of course, is she supposed to go on and have a long term husband and children? Do you realize what your are doing?
That bubble transition 👏👏👏
I said to Noustha while editing that transition: "this is so not worth the effort", and let's face it, it probably wasn't. So I'm glad you acknowledged it with your comment :).
I thought: "well he has taken inspiration for that bubble-ring fro...whoah that was cool."
I like that you're sailing with an albin vega, it stands out from the other channels where the have super expensive boats. It makes this channel more interesting!

Facts.
Just a head's up. It sucks even worse at 53. If you find the off ramp, take it.
Could be worse. You could be 50 & working at a jail.
Could be 50 and in jail....
Someone has clearly been taking lessons from Netflix series episodes. Hooked now. Thanks :-)
Awesome to find someone that shares your dream. Moving to a small boat, there are not very many out there. I switched my full size guitar for a 3/4 size, traveler guitar. I love that you wear a life jacket and she doesn't not a great practice with new crew
Living the dream kid. Good luck and God bless you
Ditto!
Looks like the two of you are a done deal!
Your great life just got a lot more beautiful. What a perfect goddess you flowed into!!! Congratulations and Highest Blessings
Finding Love is exciting for both of you. Having a mate will definitely help.
What a dream! Hopping to do something similar fairly shortly on a little Alberg 29. Can't imagine giving up the guitar though, heartbreaker.
Left with a MAYDAY! You are mean as hell lol. Looking forward to the next!
Looks like a Dinghy has caught fire, not really a may-day call, more of a pan-pan. I didn't see anything life-threatening. But let's see in the next episode.. I for one hope that he is tearing up that pussy in the meanwhile
Well he made this video so we know he’s still around. Good look son and enjoy the red sky’s at night, the the blond mornings.
Looks like you will have fun together. Its more fun when you have someone to share with. Be sure to be safe so you can do it again tomorrow.
Congrats on the lovely addition to Tarka!
good job brother. She is a beauty. Time alone can recalibrate oneself and make meeting someone to share with you more fruitful. All that and aqua water, palm trees, sunsets. Good job.
I will simply wish you fair winds and following seas. Happy trails

@@TheAdventuresofTarka Understood, there are always other options! Just have to get creative 😀
Best new Sailing Chanel. Living the dream. Cant wait to see you kiting.
Love that Tally Ho, what a great cause and channel
That's okay! You support us (and our charity) just by watching the videos :).
Shot underwater looking up at hull with fish was wicked! Great channel!
It’s all going pear shaped. Good luck with it.
I genuinely look forward to your videos.
I like your videos and your story, thank you
Yes!
Awesome video and slowly creeping up in length, once you get to 20 minutes its basically a tv episode (without the commercials lol)
Thanks dude, your channel is excellent!
Cheers 🍻
Her beautiful smile should get you through just about anything.
Agreed.
Such lovely storytelling
Thanks mate
Cartagena, Colombia, good cheap place to haul out on the way to San Blas. Fun city and great Latino music. Today, we leave Madagascar for Tanzania, Africa. Lemurs, my new favorite animal. Hope you have a nice down wind sail

Excellent video amazing sailing and beautiful pictures cheers
Nice video! @ 0:50 you captured us while we were just leaving Bonaire. It would be great if we can use some shots for our next video of Bonaire. We might have some shots for you as wel;-) Fair Winds!
That's awesome! Where are you guys now?
Sorry that was my personal account. This is our sailingchanel. We are now working on our vlog from st Maarten to Bonaire.
We are in the Netherlands right now. What about you Guys?
Ps. How did you do that very nice route animation?
i am sure that Nousha and you are having a fantastic time "sailing"
You lucky SOB 😉. You’re living the single guy’s dream
Great video man! I’m new to your channel but I binge watched all your videos yesterday! You make me want to quit my job and buy a boat(hell I do have some experience sailing in San Diego). Until then I will live vicariously through you! Thank you for sharing your story!
Great Job! I hope all is well.

Oh cool. I didn’t know about that group!
Eh, I would've found a way to keep the guitar; but that's just me. I love your journey man. One day I wanna be out there. Cheers!
I joked about mounting it to the ceiling, but there already isn't enough headroom for me.
Love your stuff man. Keep them comming
I will give this channel a try! No promises!
I luv ur videos mate it motivates me, it awakens my deep seafarer soul, now im saving money for a small boat and planning to circumnavigate the Philippines
Amazing! thank you
Great video, not sure how to spell Nushia's name, but she would definitly be worth making space for her onboard. She looks like a fun companion. :-)
Noustha ;), and thanks! She makes a great addition.
All caught up. and Yes it is about the people an places. the passages are beautiful bits of peace and solitude to be relished as they offer a contrast to time on land with people. The confidence of the later makes the former seem magical. Heading over to you patreon. Small boats rock.
You guys are just wonderful. Greate feeling in the vids !
Once again, NICE photography, a girl and a mayday cliffhanger, whaaaat...
That teaser was brilliant. You're killing me... What happened that you needed to call Mayday?!
Look in the background, some boat is on fire. :(
All will be revealed in the next video. Or you can see the future by reading the blog post on the website.
Very nice!
Best adventures ever
Just to be pedantic it should have been a Mayday Relay but if it gets help it doesn't matter.
As always looking forward to watching your adventures.
All will be clarified in the next video ;).
Ah, more to the story! Looking forward to it.
Love the adventures!
Oh, and a mayday call and then video cuts... Not cool bruh 😂 be safe and I hope all is well.
Love the videos! Keep it up!!!!!!😁
great adventures mate
Nice vid. I think maybe I'd have tried to get the new crew to part with a few of her things (like maybe half?) before ditching my guitar. Ouch!
Well, she did bring a ukulele to replace the guitar, and gave up a lot of her own stuff. Some of the stuff is for both of us (like the kite and kiteboard) -- but we both had to make sacrifices.
You definitely got the better end of the deal. Really enjoying your videos. Great transition with the air bubble ring.
Been waiting for the next episode!
You should try to get a Baby Taylor. It's what I carry on my Cape Dory 28. For a 3/4 size guitar it has amazing sound. I bet you could find room for it. See you on CF !

I've eaten them before, and I agree, they're quite tasty little bastards!
New love
Another Great Video!
I'm the Philippines there's the Manila yacht club where you may be able to dock and you will have to find the coast and geodetic store to buy charts of the Philippines
"This old guitar ain't mine to keep
It's only mine for a while" -Neil Young
Great video and good luck from s/v Tikiti-boo
You now have to have a drone operating license in Canada so you might be able to put down dinghy drone flying experience down on the application form in Canada. I think the application and exam are online.
I like a lot! :)
Yikes! Not good to leave us with “mayday . . . .”
I had mixed feelings about leaving with a cliff-hanger -- I never like it when TV shows do it, so maybe I shouldn't either.
How soon before the Mayday video?
Girl > guitar all day everyday lmao
Nice
in open ocean with no lifejacket; she sure does trust you to pick her up single hand if she goes overboard..
Mentioned in the video and it was reckless. We don't trust anyone to pick us up if we go over, even with a harness, self-inflating PFD, and PLB. Thus, the first rule on the boat is always, don't fall off the boat.
You need to keep the fish that jump into your boat as bait for other fish so don't throw them away
I would if we were on passage, but on anchor there's not much to do but give them to the birds.
You gotta put tanks and gear on the boat!!!!!
As much as we'd like to, we don't have the space nor could we afford the extra weight. Plus, we'd never be able to fill them most places we go :/.
Wonderful format! I love your videos... they're so much inspiring :)
However in this video , although it was just a few seconds I couldn't understand exactly if you were sending a MAYDAY message or a MAYDAY relay. If it was a MAYDAY message, then it's wrong. Hope this helps... keep going and continue to share the adventures of Tarka ;)
It will very much be discussed in the next video, you'll see ;).
Save those reefs!!!!!!! Need more dive footage!!!! And more of the hot chick kite surfing!!!!!
How big is Tarka? I'm planning on selling up my house and car etc. and buying a cruising boat of around 35' I've been sailing on a 60' custom built boat that was built in '95 for the Cape to Rio ocean race. What’s the delay on the next video? Can’t leave us hanging like that.
Hey DJ, we try to post a video every 2 weeks, which would have meant the next episode would be released today. Unfortunately, I've been dealing with a tragedy in my family the last two weeks, the next episode is a bit delayed as a result. Sorry!
Truly sorry to hear about that. I hope everything turns out okay for you. Be blessed and looking forward to your return.
Yeahhh you got her, you guys make a great looking couple, its nice she nakes you company for San Blas passage yeap, nice video
*I still don't know how you manage to take a dump on those things, specially with ppl around*
Who’s boat was on fire at the end of this video?
It was a fishing boat, you can see more in the new episode.
F****** click bate for next video. Ok. Ready to watch ;)
oh! another 1 to score! lmao
Great stuff man. If she can’t handle the pee on the stings it’s a no go bro. Pee on her stings. If she doesn’t agree and like it, it’s someone else. #andlikeit. Great channel man. Gives me hope for a landlubber selling real estate
Does Shelly have a channel? I am really interested in solo sailing for women. Rachel
Shelley doesn't sail full-time these days, but you can find her old blog: www.northwind.nl/
You need a bigger boat!
We'd need $$$ ;).
my man gave up the guitar for some poon; its why we get it in the first place
Sometimes I wonder if your related to the guy who does the daily dose of internet
Don't think so... but I'm also not familiar.
No ! No ! Please don't get rid of the guitar lol .
Dude, you don't find girls like this just anywhere. She wants to come. Your "plans" are secondary. Life is calling. Answer the call.
To bad the guitar couldn't find some room. I'm a big guitar player.
Have you had a look at these guys?
ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=sailing+lealea
I know Chuck Rose's adventures very well, and he's helped me (virtually) with a project or two.
Good decision my young man, she's a hot blonde, and can cook. Try to keep her wet and she will be happy.😁👍👁️👁️🤞
Your new girlfriend looks lovely. I couldn't quite catch her name. How do you spell it?
Noustha -- It's a tough one, and sometimes I still spell it wrong ;).
Thank you, I was wondering as well. Keep her close. (With 120 square feet it should not be a problem) 😂
is it pronounced Noosha? I was trying to make it out but could not.
The Adventures of Tarka.
She’s gorgeous no matter what her name is, you’re a lucky man, may God bless you both.💝
Woman vs guitar.... Keep the woman and get a harmonica.
I hope you don't try your dirty dance moves on her right away. You'll have to swap crewgirls alot.
So after your have used her, with her consent of course, is she supposed to go on and have a long term husband and children?
Do you realize what your are doing?
