I have subscribed to your channel recently and I absolutely could not be happier you actually follow your own advice.
Tim Chamberlain Good to hear! I'm glad to have you onboard and I have some exciting videos in the works!
A tip for budget hunters is if you have a bright white flash light but want a red light you don't need to buy a new light. But some "red jell filter sheets" and cut them to fit over your lenses. I had a mag light led I did that to. All you do is unscrew the lease part and remove the clear lense then add several layers of red jell sheets till you get the right color red you like. No need for a new light and the sheets will last a long time. As long as your flashlight doesn't put out a lot of heat you should be good.
Very high quality video! I feel maglite is being left far behind by the market, though, in terms of everything but durability. Even then, even the cheaper thrunites survive crazy stuff.
I've used the Streamlight microstream for many years and one of the best things about them besides the great light output and their compact size is their warranty. When you send in yours for repair, they will send you a brand new one at no cost to you, (no questions asked). You can't beat that!
I have a TN12 which for the price can't be beat. Great video, thank you!
Very professional video. Great transitions and content. It is crazy as I'm getting more into lights how hard it is to find one with single mode, on/off. I'd even be fine if they had strobe and 80ish lumens for a 2 mode. Any advice on where I could find that in a single aaa configuration with a clicker end cap?
It is the Energizer 3 LED Headlamp, you can get it for under $20 at like Wal-Mart. The only suggestion I have with this light is if you plan to wear something on your head like a helmet to ensure you adjust the strap because with prolonged use it will stretch. Not sure of the exact specs of the lamp, but it has a tactical red light, an led proximity light and an led flood light, all modes have two separate bulbs on opposing sides with the proximity light in the center, followed by the red, then the flood and it also has a "high output" mode not sure Tue actual name but both the proximity and flood LEDs light up. Oh and it runs on 3 AAA batteries.
Thank you this helped me narrow down what types and brands to look for :)
Nice video. The comparison is really effective in terms of which to purchase.
Great video. Always looking for good lights. Have you ever checked out Led Lenser? I was just given a small one I like, except for9r the $14 battery. Just curious since I don't see a lot of reviews on any of their lights really. Keep up the good work and Merry Christmas!
Love the puppy's crown
I think you made some pretty good choices Marty. Thumbs up man
Not sure what branch of the military issues the princeton tec headlamp, but great video. I actually have been recently looking for a new, cheap EDC flashlight or one just to keep in my Jeep because of the countless unfortunate events where I have been on the side of the road at night and didn't want to use my headlamp. Also, I don't have it on me at the moment, will comment later with the name, but a really good and rugged headlamp that surprisingly survived all of the abuse it got while I was in the Marines I think you should check out.
Useful reviews thanks but it would help greatly if you showed the spread of the light.
Some are tight spot lights, some are wide flood lights and many are in-between. For me its the first thing I need to know, after that comes all the rest.
Please provide that information by illuminating the same scene with the different flashlights so we can compare their actual performance.
Thanks Tony
not necessarily "budget" but LED LENSER deserves some recognition in this. my personal EDC, bug out, mutli day hike, and hunting lights
I think u missed one of the better ones. Pd22. I'm in the market to purchase one. Not the best one budget prices but looks amazing. Any thought?
I love your reviews! Keep up the work
I ordered 3 of the Mini Cree lights, all 3 failed in short order, or move from a working to partially working to not working status. But what do you want for five bucks.
Out of this bunch I have only the Nitecore p12 and the Olight s10.Both lights are down right awesome.
Amazing intro transition omg
Great Review Dude. Keep up the great work. Nick.
Since this video is 1 year old, and the flashlight market changes rapidly, here are some very compact EDC flashlight, which are great buys nowadays:
- Nitecore MH20
- Nitecore MT10C and MT10A
- Nitecore Tube
- Thrunite Ti4
- Thrunite T10
- Thrunite Ti3
- Thrunite Archer 1C v2 and also Archer 1A v2
- Eagletac D25C
- Eagletac D25A
- Fenix LD09
- Fenix UC30
They are all very compact, and super bright for any EDC purposes.
+EDC Gadgets can you answer a question of mine?
+Shartline McDingleberries Sure, what question?
+Shartline McDingleberries
The flashlight which you linked is very unlikely to output 27 000 Lumens. It is a typical exaggeration from low-end chinese manufacturers. They just multiplied to maxium output of the LED (1000-1100 Lumens) with 21 basically. But of course flashlights do not work that way :) (The brightness output is not lineary dependant from the number of LED)
Btw, it would melt in your hand in a few seconds, because has almost no heat dissipation surface. It is hard to tell what the real output is, maybe 2-3000 Lumens, maybe 6-7000...
But honestly, if you want a true, proven brand, just go with the Thrunite TN36 UT. That flashlight is measured to output 7300 Lumens, and it has large head dissipation surface to ensure reliable work for longer time period. I guarantee it eats that noname flashlight for breakfast.
EDC Gadgets
yep figured, I don't know much about flashlights but I could smell bullshit as soon as I saw anything more than 8000 lumens and figured it was garbage but thanks for the suggestion ill check it out. Oh and can you recommend a good head torch that's bright, Thanks.
+Shartline McDingleberries
I usually recommend headlamps with Neutral White LED, because it renders colors better (for work), and goes easier on the eyes (while using it for extended period).
The Thrunite TH10 is a great buy in Neutral White color, has some important features (mode memory, and also memory override to turn it high or low instantly), and has really decent runtimes. Water and drop resistant, and has overheat protection. For 39 USD it's perfectly fine.
Streamlight puts out a good product.. Great review..
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
you should review the thrunite ti3, please
Very good video. Good filming as well.
Theres a link typo by a fenix light. The lumen stands in front of the http.
What bag would you recommend for a 72 hour bug out bag?
ive only ordered one of the cree led flashlights on amazon. i wanted single mode only but mine sucks. i have buddies who got good ones but depending on how i press the clicky it will go into a decent high or what seems to be a low. i may order another one and give this one away. it happens with eneloops and alkaline aa's i have
Very interesting lights and thanks for the budget idea my favorite is the stream light although I own a varity its thin design lets me put in my pocket and forget about it. Lol.
Anyone looking for a small and robust flashlight should also check out Lumapower. I've had my LM31 edc for several months now and I love it
Great video! Now I know what to get.
Joanna W Thanks again for watching! I appreciate your support!
I used the maglite xl50 that takes 3 triple- a batteries. The biggest complaint is the button was so light I would turn it on in my pocket and people would be like your pocket is glowing.
This video kicks ass Thanks for the info
Prices my man prices! I cant go thru and google every option you bring up
Jordan Ownbey you could but you're too fucking lazy
ThruNite Ti CW is the best keychain light 162 lumens (30 dollars), cheaper version is the Ti3 that has 120 lumens (20 dollars)
I have a normal metal flashlight and it's pretty good BTW i like your vid
I'm dying to get the thrunite tn12 but can't afford it right now but I still own about 30 flashlights I'll show mine when I get the courage to do so never made a review or any videos
Numbers before each of the lights and numbered in the description would make finding them easier. But hey, Nice vid.
I ordered one of those mini Cree LEDs, I thought for the price I can't go wrong.
Helpful video! Nice job my friend!!!
C.T.S 117 Glad I could help! Thanks for watching!
Awesome video it helped me out a lot I have the microstream for a edc and I love it... I work if a guy at work thats getting more into flashlights and im thinking about getting the surefire g2x tactical for a bigger edc light or even put it in an edc bag bt he can get one for me for $50 thats a good price for a surefire and the more vids I watch about the more im thinking about getting it
Thanks for the video, it was very informative.
thought he was gonna shoot those flashlights at first.
Excellent video. Just subscribed, from AMFAW channel, Thanks
Maglites are for me because they are durable with readily available parts and no switch to fail.
Hard to argue with that!
Great vid my friend!!
ALL have a lot of Pros and very few cons Thanks !
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Great video. Congrats! Thank you and be well.
MrDidaxi I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
It's crazy how into flashlights some guys are....there are several forums just for flashlights they even modify them. I have used foursevens for some time recently bought a few thrunite flashlights but was disappointed.
Everything has a niche. :)
Another great video
Mario Amaya Thanks man!
I finally got my thrunite tn12
E20 or M5 by Powertac is the best
Thanks. Stay safe and God bless.
fenix pd35 or thrulite tn12?
I have the fenix PD35 for my duty flashlight and EDC and its fantastic. I've had to go swimming with it. I've used it on rifles. It's been dropped thrown and ran over. The only downside, is it can get pretty hot after a while.
thanks guys
clicked like for the dog crown lmao
I think that the thrunite t 10 is a great option
rip ppl with epilepsy
I like the blue one because, wooptidoo.
aww the puppy!!!!
you really should have talked about emitters and other options. Also you do not have to go expensive to get the best, most of the time you are paying name not function and reliability. The nitecore is actually 852 lumens and the trunite will never get over 1000 lumens. the cree led is called an ultrafire sk68
Kris Livengood Thanks for watching! Here's why I didn't do what you suggested: 1st: As I mention in the video and in the description box this video is a basic overview; listing every single flashlight specification would make this video VERY long [and boring to most]. I only go into that level of detail in full product reviews. 2nd: I don't understand the comment "...you do not have to go expensive to get the best". I list budget options in each category. I even spent a segment talking about the effectiveness of Maglites 3rd: I listed the lumen outputs provided by the manufacturers. I understand that consumer testing occurs on lumen outputs but that is sometimes inaccurate and also not relevant in a general overview. 4th: The names of LED emitters are irrelevant to the average consumer.I appreciate your feedback. I can tell that you spend a lot of time researching flashlights. I encourage you to make videos and apply your own suggestions so you can see how they work for your channel. A bit of background on me: I started making RUclips videos myself because my comments and critiques for other channels fell on deaf ears. Without a RUclips channel I lacked both SEO [search engine optimization] experience and a way to be held accountable for comments because I had no way to prove that I would apply the advice that I was giving. In the end I eventually learned why channels did what they did and I also learned that some of my ideas worked better than those other channels. I encourage you to do the same. :)
Thanks for the feedback, sorry it sounded negative, i didn't mean for it too.
I do flashlight reviews, but only written reviews and I like to tinker and mod lights to build upon what the manufacture has done and make them more reliable.
Downlinx I like my little J5 tactical for $13. Takes 1 AA battery and you're ready to go.
Last guy beat me to the punch . Streamlight I own several products . Never had a problem. Streamlight . Better than fenix.
I love my elzetta!
How is that budget
TheFlying Orange Budgeting is an action.
Hi, My brother in law is a hunter and likes the outdoors... I would like to get him a flashlight that is rather small, efficient on battery life (rechargeable) and must be bright with distance. I will spend up to $100 to $150, Thanks! Eric
I do some hunting and I use a coast headlamp with a adjustable beam.... there at Lowe's and I have had no problems
Penlights? Thrunite ti4
nice vid, should of demo'd each one in a dark room.
I love my nitecore tube.

EDC TURNT THIS SHIT UP
WTF... FLASHLIGHTS
OKAY...
I bought a nitecore for my father in law, the flashlight came broken out of the box. I contacted ( numerous times ) nitecore one time they told me they would call me back, they never did another time they told me I would have to take it to one of their authorized dealers for a refund or exchange, the only problem is the authorized dealers are in CHINA. NEVER BUY A NITECORE. I have 5 fenix never had a problem the best light.
michael leon bad experience, you will get surprise from our shop.
