I love the way you described the committee in your head. Do you ever think of your family while you climb? Or would that be too distracting? Mine are always at the forefront of my thoughts (especially in sketchy trees, during storms, etc) that I want to see them at the end of the day. If trees have taught me one thing is love your family.
The easiest way to sum it up is that now you are much more knowledgeable about cranes and how they should be utilized, and are applying that knowledge in a way to safely and efficiently accomplish your job. 20 year old August didn’t know much about cranes. 20 year old August was just a tree guy and was trusting the crane guy to be the expert and to assure you that what you were doing and how you were loading it was safe. 52 year old August is now both a tree guy and a crane guy, and is focused on keeping his crew working efficiently and in as safe a manner as possible.
Butterflies putting you on alert is a good comment, also caring about your team so much ! I often stop and think slow down remember what you were told about what could happen.
Great vid. You are an excellent teacher August. I have two with birthdays in September as well. I asked my wife to bail me out and put birthdays on my work calendar but she's leaving me to figure it out on my own🤔😬
@@AugustHunicke All depends on the situation and more so your LZ. You may not have the room to set a long horizontal pick down and have to stand the piece up instead. It's harder to do, but certainly is an allowable and acceptable way to make the lift, just not part of the BMP for Crane Rigging in Trees.
@@chrisgirard7297 I think standing them up is easier, less rigging. There’s a time for everything. Yep, crane classes want to line angle always straight up and down. Not reasonable in the real world IMO
